Once again we had a perfect stay. Mike is a gracious and generous host. Our kids and my folks love the place. We stayed for three nights (which I think is a minimum!) and loved the sunsets, the beach walks, the views of Mt Rainier, the clams, the perfectly manicured grass. We played catch, badminton, cornhole, bocce, cards, and we cooked and dined and conversed until late at night. We saw bald eagles and seals and blue herons and osprey. I strongly recommend staying here. And I strongly recommend reaching out to Mike, he'll make your stay even better :)

Absolutely Phenomenal

This property is absolutely amazing! Myself, husband, 2 kiddos (4 & 6), and parents stayed for 3 nights. We did not want to leave! Being on the water was so picturesque and relaxing. The location is very remote and private. We brought 3 kayaks and were able to easily put in from the property and paddle around the gorgeous water. I highly recommend and we will be back in the future!

While the house and surrounding scenery are beautiful and unmatched, the best part of our stay was the hospitality that Mike and Shelley extended to us! Thank you for sharing your canoe and bounty with us, we are still talking about how rested we felt and how much fun we had connecting with each other over conversation, cooking yummy seafood food at the house, and watching the wildlife from the beach. We hope to be back some time!

This was the most well kept property we have stayed at. The property inside and out was beautiful and relaxing! My kids enjoyed walking the shoreline and hanging out on the dock until dark!

Mike & Shelley are the best hosts ever - so knowledgeable, fun, generous and focused on helping guests enjoy Harstine Island. Harstine is magical: full of wildlife, lots to watch, quiet and serene. No TV (there's cell & WiFi), no traffic; the cabin is nicely situated towards sunrise and glorious views of Mt Rainier and the water. Perfect for decompressing from our modern world while still offering modern conveniences. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. A wonderful paddle boarding spot. The best VRBO stay we've had - thank you, Mike & Shelley!!

We had the best time!

We went with our 3 kids ages 7,10, and 13 and we had the most wonderful time. The property is stunning. Mike showed our kids how to dig for clams which were so yummy! He also showed us around and shared the history of the island on his boat. We will be back! Thank you!

Incredible Serene Getaway With Spectacular Views

Getting my mother up from CA for possibly her last visit could not have gone better!! The view, weather and comfort of the home all came together for an exceptional time. Weekend Getaway

Us and our three kids (ranging from 5-10) stayed for a weekend to visit family in the area. The house was small but open and the views were breathtaking. We spent lots of time outside enjoying the beach and looking for shells. Loved the fact that there was no tv. My partner and I enjoyed the views and quite while playing cards we will definitely be back

A perfect get away

This house and property is wonderful. but it is camping in a way. We bring all our food and comfort items as groceries are a drive away. If you wash the dishes in the washer doing the day you can avoid the noise during sleeping hours . Every day bring a natural wonder. One morning we. awoke to a bright red sun.We were visited by all sorts of water life. QUIET A swift breeze flows through the house rom th patio to the front door. Bring a great book and enjoy.

Lovely cottage with outstanding views

We had a terrific vist to Shelton and really enjoyed staying in this cottage on Harstine Island. The setting is serene and we saw lots of wildlife including deer, seals, a bald eagle and an otter. We will book again for a longer stay.

Unforgettable Experience

We stayed for 4th of July weekend, and it was one that we won’t forget. Mike was a great host, and the property was beautiful. The property comes with a panoramic view of the sound, great view of Rainier, and beach access. There was even a place for my parents to hook up their RV, and a place to tie our boat. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Micheal's house was very clean and spacious. The location was great; it had a nice view of the ocean and a private beach. Micheal was friendly and we enjoyed the visits of the cute dogs!

Great spot for a beach front getaway

We enjoyed our stay here with the family on the beachfront! The views were wonderful, and access to McMicken Island at low tide was easy. The house had fun history on the walls and was kept clean and lovely.

Amazing spot on the water

We really enjoyed our three night stay at Mike and Shelley's place - it's even nicer than the pictures. We liked it so much we just enjoyed the house and walking along the beach and watching the wildlife - seals, herons and even a bald eagle. Mike was very accomodating and the house had everything we needed. Would very much recommend for families and people looking to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Puget Sound.

Views to warm the soul

My husband and I stayed a week too short. We will be back. What a glorious spot in the world as well as a finely detailed home.. It was so peaceful and quiet and we are sad to leave but are so fortunate we found Mike and Shellys little peace of heaven .. Walk talks and reading ongoing to sleep every night to a glowing pink skyline. The rooster down the beach Mae us laugh every morning and we loved watching all the wildlife. the frisky little otters the best!!!! Shells everywhere and the sweet smell of the sea. thank you thank you. Mike gave us some treasures from his garden which were delicious for dinners and we ate some baked oysters moron the shore. what more could anyone want. I loved the sign that read if you are fortunate to live by the sea you are fortunate enough".

I wasBorn and raised here on Hartsine Island. My Grandfather migrated here from Croatia 100 years ago. He and Grandma fell in love with the pristine beauty and peacefulness of this place. They built a farm and raised a large family with many happy memories here.

We built our cabin on the homestead site of my Granparent's first home.

We enjoy long walks on the beach with our dogs , clam digging, fishing, boating and waterskiing.
