Large two story, seven bedroom home located two lots from the beach on a quiet cul de sac offering nice ocean views from multiple decks and porches. Many updates made in 2011 including the second floor living area to include beautiful wood flooring and all new furniture, a gourmet kitchen with stainless appliances including a commercial ice machine and stunning cabinetry and accessories. Additionally the four, second floor bedrooms have been fully renovated and two new screen porches have been added, one on the second floor and the other at roof level, both offering ocean views. The first floor offers a large living area with a pool table, TV. Wireless Internet. Linens Included. Garage access is NOT available.

Ring Ceremony at the Citadel

We rented this property with two families attending cadets ring ceremony at the Citadel. The house was spacious enough to accommodate the twelve people staying there as well as a few more day guests. We really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the open floor plan as well as the pool table downstairs. The house was however very hot. The air conditioning upstairs was by far not powerful enough to get the house to a comfortable temperature. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to contact Island realty until day four of our five day stay, at which time they provided four window AC’s to put in the bedroom windows. That made for better sleeping our last night but the living areas were still uncomfortably got. The property is a little dated but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Would have been great, but homeowners refuse to fix the A/C

Our family looks so forward to this trip every year, but this year we left with a bad taste in our mouth. The house was great in terms of size, location, layout, etc. But the A/C is not sufficient for this house. It would not get below 85 degrees at night. We had toddlers with us, and no one could sleep in that. We called the repairman out, and he said that he gets called to this property all of the time. He said the problem is the units are on the fritz. They are cooling all they can (which is hardly any), and the homeowners refuse to replace the units. Island Realty knows about this problem, and ethically speaking, they should refuse to continue to rent/manage this house (only bright spot at Island Realty is Michelle who tried her best to help us with portable units). We are very upset about this. We spent a lot of money on this house, and it did not feel like a vacation at all. The house was hot during the day, super hot at night, and no one slept. We should receive some of our money back at the very least. I would not recommend this house to anyone until this problem is fixed.

We enjoyed the house - there were really two different areas to the house - the kitchen/living level and the basement. The main level was definitely nicer than the basement. Was ideal for our large group of girls. A few things broke while we were there, but they were promptly fixed. Would have been nice to have a garage door code, so we didn't have to coordinate keys. Not right on the beach but just a few min walk away. Not a lot to do in the Aisle of Palm.

Although we had some problems - the fridge stopped working, the air conditioner struggled, there was a big storm and the yard flooded and sewage came up in the downstairs shower - the house is laid out so perfectly for multiple families and the location is so good that we still had a great vacation. Island Realty was super responsive and did everything they could to solve our problems. The house is much bigger than it looks in the pictures, with multiple decks and places to spread out. I'd go there again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. The owners are currently in the process of replacing the fridge and AC unit to help make sure all future guests are comfortable. The house is in a low lying area, and the yard does have sump pump. Unfortunately, while you were here one of those pumps failed and cause the yard and septic to backup. That pump has since been replaced and working properly so there should be no more issues with the yard or the septic. We hope to see you again soon.

Great Location EXCEPTt for Beach Access During Rainy Weather

2017 is our second year at this property for a family week with three generations + friends. We were quite happy with the property in 2016. Our Two Star rating on the location is due to the swamp on the pathway across the dunes. Older members of the family were uncomfortable walking through the swamp as they could not see the bottom in places where the dunes are exceptionally low. The street at #4 & #2 was also flooded as was the cross street between 45th and 44th, not allowing us an easy alternative to accessing the beach. Island Realty should work with the city and county to alleviate this, perhaps with a raised boardwalk at 45th Street. We are well aware that there were excessive rains this week, but in an expensive holiday venue we would hope for better beach access. We realize that Housekeeping has a very short time to clean the properties during the season, but we felt that the cobwebs in the corners and dirty kitchen countertops were not acceptable. Island Realty does a good job in scheduling requested maintenance. We know that Housekeeping staff are probably paid minimum wage; however, they should report burned out light bulbs and an inoperable dishwasher. We did miss the picnic table on the screened porch. We like to eat our family dinners on the porch and that was impossible with 9 to 11 people at the small round table.
