Perfect Name for the Perfect Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

What a Cabin! This place was incredible, the attention to detail amazing. Views spectacular, the owners of the property Fantastic! I don't believe the English language has the appropriate adjectives to convey how I feel about this Property, but I am trying.

I pray that it survived the wildfire, we checked out the morning of the wildfire destruction in Gatlinburg. I would hate that others would not get to experience all that this Cabin has to offer, plus the owners had put so much into it that it would truly be tragic.

The views were absolutely amazing, the pictures do not do it justice. Details all covered, hot tub filled ready to go, how the TV works (instructions printed for your use), welcome basket of various goodies (hot chocolate, coffee, etc.), well equipped kitchen. If you need help finding what to do and where, a basket with every flyer imaginable is right there for your use. The owners had decorated the Cabin for Christmas before our arrival, the lights were on timers all we need do was sit back and enjoy. Towels were even laid out in the shape of a heart in the master suite upstairs (nice touch). If you like movies, and I do, the selection was enormous. Everything in the Cabin was user friendly, even the light switches were labeled. The owner will email you a week before your arrival with everything you need to know, how to enter, wifi, etc. The only thing I didn't know was where the pool cues were located. I texted the owner and had my answer in no time, and boy did I feel dumb when I got the answer.

The wife was wanting to get something a little less pricey, but I wanted to make memories that last a lifetime. It may have cost a couple of hundred extra bucks, but it was absolutely the right call. This place was worth it, I could not have asked for better. It was home away from home for us, the main floor living area was spacious and well appointed. The loft/upstairs was a great for my wife and I to carve our private space in this slice of heaven, waking every morning to the spectacular view of the Smokies. The two bedrooms downstairs had their own private bathrooms, pool table, and on the deck hot tub.

The drive up the mountain caused some anxious moments for some of the family, but that may have been to do with my driving habits. Know this, the mountain roads are "NOT" wide, they don't have guardrails everywhere, there will be steep hills, there will be tight turns.

Trust me you will LOVE IT! Most of all Thank you for your hospitality!

Enjoyable Stay

  • 4 of 5

The best part of "An Incredible View" cabin is the owner Robin. She is easy to reach, attentive, and strives to provide personal touches during your stay. We appreciated the fully stocked kitchen that included pie plates and a rolling pin, resulting in a fabulous peach pie for dessert one evening. Robin replaced the broken can opener as soon as we brought it to her attention. We enjoyed evenings in the hot tub and appreciated how clean it was (I believe she replaces the water for each rental). My adult sons tried to play a game of pool; however, there isn't much clearance around the table which made several shots very awkward and some impossible. But the reason for 4 stars vs 5 is related to the view. Based on the description of an "unobstructed view" and the pictures posted on the site, I was disappointed when we arrived to discover that the pictures reflect the view during months when there are no leaves on the trees. The gorgeous summer view is interrupted by a large deciduous tree in the middle of the sight line of the mountains. It's my fault for not paying closer attention to the details in the pictures (which show the bare tree that creates the obstacle when it has leaves). I don't know if it would have made a difference in our rental decision as we had also considered another property with a full view, but it would have been helpful if there was a photo posted during the summer on the website, or if the description stated "unobstruceted three season view," instead of "unobstructive view." Just a suggestion. All in all, it was a lovely vacation and we appreciated Robin's attentiveness.

Owner's Response: Hi Shelda, Thank you for the nice words about the job I do and my communications with guests. I do try to to be a good spokesperson for the cabin. Some guests think I am overly protective and maybe I am, but I want everyone to have the best vacation possible and enjoy the cabin. Which brings up your other comment about the view. I'm so sorry you felt the "tree" took away from the panoramic view of the mountains and the city of Gatlinburg. It has been a discussion between my husband and I for the past year, about taking down the tree. He feels we are in the mountains and bordering the National Park and should not disrupt the mountains...maybe your review will give him the nudge to go ahead. We will be staying at the cabin in November, and will definitely talk to our arborist then. Thanks again Robin

Incredible Stay

  • 5 of 5

We spent 7 nights at the Incredible View cabin. There were many positives. When we arrived, there was wine and soda in the refrigerator for us as well as some k-cups and snacks. The kitchen was very well stocked with spices and basics that we would need. There were also plenty of toiletries to use, which was also a nice touch. The cabin itself was great, the view was spectacular. Sunrise each morning was a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. The location was convenient to everything we wanted to do-hiking, Ober Gatlinburg, shopping. I would highly recommend this cabin. The only thing that I might have liked to see different was to be able to use the fireplace. I knew ahead of time that it was only open from November-March 1, but we had some cold nights, even with snow, and it would have been nice to be able to use the fireplace. I might suggest that in the future the fireplace be available for use through March.

Owner's Response: Sarah, I am glad your family enjoyed our cabin and all of the "EXTRA AMENITIES" we provide. Many homeowners do not spend the "extra" money for these items, but we want our guests to "feel special" while staying at our home. Your suggestion about the fireplace is an idea we tried several years ago. Even though Springtime in the Smokies does have a few cool nights, we think having the fireplace cleaned and closed down by a professional technician after winter helps alleviate any safety issues when it isn't being used much. Really fabulous cabin to enjoy the Smokies

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I spent a week at this fabulous cabin. It exceeded all of our expectations: Cleanliness and furnishings were top notch, the beds and linens were better than anything I have at my own home, and this from a rental. Everything was furnished...I mean even Bath and Body Works great smelling hand soap and shampoo/conditioner, laundry supplies, toothpaste/toothbrush AND drinks waiting in the refrigerator.

We spent our days enjoying the National Park, but hurried back to the cabin to enjoy the quietness on the deck and in the hot tub.

It was just the best trip and vacation -- totally relaxing.

This cabin was a wonderful retreat. I hope we get to come back again some day.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you both enjoyed the cabin and area so much! We have tried since the beginning to offer our guests a vacation home above and beyond the "normal travel rental". I think it shows by how many repeat guests we receive back every year. We'd love you have you stay again any time. Bob and Robin

Photos do not do the view justice!

  • 5 of 5

We booked Incredible View for a family vacation the week between Christmas and New Year's. The cabin was the highlight of our trip. I will not go into specifics about the crowds and the weather we dealt with during the week, but let's just say that getting back to the cabin and relaxing was the what I looked forward to the most at the end of the day.

Yes, the roads going up to the cabin take a little getting used to, but we knew that before booking the cabin. The cabin was immaculate. Everything worked perfectly. It has everything you could ask for in a place to stay for the week.

While we didn't see any bears or other wildlife, the luxuriousness of the cabin and the views of Gatlinburg and the surrounding mountains made up for it!

Owner's Response: William, Wow! Thank you so much for leaving such a nice review. You are right the weather this year for Christmas was horrible...rain...rain...rain. When I didn't hear anything from you all week, I was worried it dampened your holiday stay -- I am so glad the luxury of the cabin helped make things more enjoyable. I can totally relate to the the "joy" of returning back to the cabin after hectic crowds, traffic, etc. Did you see TripAdvisor listed Gatlinburg "The #1 travel destination of 2015". I hope you and your family will come back again soon and enjoy the cabin with better weather. Robin and Bob

Another great week at Incredible View

  • 5 of 5

Once again Robin and Bob went way past what is expected when you rent a cabin in Gatlinburg. This was our second stay here and it was as enjoyable as the first. Everything was clean and the entire cabin is well stocked with anything you need during your stay. We took a road trip to Cherokee and Bryson City one day, as well as another day trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville where our daughter's boyfriend proposed. Incredible View provided a great place to celebrate this event when we returned. Wildlife was out everywhere we went but sadly, there were no bear sightings this trip.

Thanks again to Robin and Bob for providing an outstanding place to stay in Gatlinburg. We'll be back soon.

Owner's Response: Bill and Family, Oh my gosh, how exciting a wedding in the future ~ Maybe they will think about having their honeymoon in Gatlinburg next year? We have so enjoyed sharing our home with you all. Sometimes it gets hard to keep renting, it's just not the same as it was, but you and Lee Ann make it worth it. I wish your family a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!!!!
