About Artha and Roger

This lovely home is owned by British comedy magician Jolly Roger and his American wife, Artha (find out more about him - do a Google search - 'Jolly Roger Magician Arizona').

Artha is originally from the East Coast. A computer programmer by profession.

Roger is in the process of completing his second book, 'The Forest of Song.' A book of inspirational poetry.

Artha and Roger purchased this house in 2011

Why Artha and Roger chose Sedona

We have traveled all over the world and found the beauty, serenity and energy of Sedona to be incomparable. Having looked at several other homes in the area prior to purchasing, we knew this was the one as soon as we stepped into the home. The unique style and positive energy - as well as the ideal location - made this the perfect place for us to share.

What makes this house unique

We also own the home next door to the cottage. We rarely miss the 'free star show' the universe puts on each night as well as seeing the sun's first light hit the red rocks which are right outside our door! Red Rock parking pass also provided.

Everything you need in Sedona

  • 5 of 5

You will not be disappointed. This lovely home is right near some of the most beautiful mountains - by "right near", I mean outside your door. Great trails nearby. House itself is great, very comfortable and has all the little things you need. Highly recommend.

Great home base in the Sedona area

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious home. Our family of four had lots of room to spread out, and we were happy to have a bathroom for us and one for our teenagers. We also saved a ton by making our own meals.

The house is very well-stocked with everything you need to cook, do laundry and relax. It has a dishwasher, coffee, coffee filters, tons of pots and pans, etc. It also includes a charming, quiet patio with comfortable furniture. It was warm and sunny enough to sit outside on a December afternoon.

The location is also excellent. It’s just a short walk from the amazing Bell Rock/Courthouse Loop trail and a short drive to the center of Sedona, which has a Whole Foods and other grocery stores.

Artha came by after we arrived to answer questions and show us how to work the satellite TV, then left us in complete privacy. I appreciated that there weren’t a bunch of add-on fees or cleanup duties. This rental is an excellent value in an otherwise-expensive area.

Enjoyable location for a Sedona visit

  • 5 of 5

The house is in a nice, quiet neighborhood in the Village of Oak Creek -- about 20 minutes from the main Sedona attractions. You can walk to the Bell Rock /Courthouse Butte Trail from the house which is really nice. There are nice restaurants and services in the Village of Oak Creek if you don't want to drive into town. The house decor is a bit dated, but everything is comfortable, the home is bigger than other vrbo places we have stayed, and everything you need is provided. The owners are very nice and friendly and answer any questions you may have.

OAK CREEK IS THE PLACE TO STAY

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting Sedona and the surrounding area. This home is very well located to and a much better option then staying in downtown Sedona. Hiking the red rocks is within walking distance to the home. The home is well equipped , very clean and comfortable. The patio area is amazing for wonderful evening meals. Artha and Roger are very accommodating and willing to help out with anything. They also provide many detailed lists of places to go and dining options. This is an amazing help to people who do not know the area. We would stay there again if in the area.

Peaceful Sedona retreat close to trails,

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful stay in Village of Oak Creek home. Patios, unique home, peek-a-boo views of rocks, and great hosts. So much to do here- hike from home, find your perfect place to eat, relax inside or out, feel the energy of the vortexes! I had a great week here taking advantage of a few of the many options. Artha and roger welcomed me and offered suggestions, and orientation. Lucky enough to enjoy warm weather, and always a joy to return to "home". A few steps to stunning views... Any problems or questions Artha and Roger are on it. Enjoy a well equipped kitchen, and comfortable rooms with loads of fun decorations. I'll be back!
