Spacious Luxury Cabin/Home on Private Lake w/Hot Tub & Amazing Views - Bend

The Creekside Cabin is one of five luxury vacation rental homes at Tumalo Lake Lodge (tumalolakelodge) nestled among pine trees on the water's edge of Tumalo Lake. The Creekside Cabin (4 bedroom/4.5 bath, sleeps 10) is a spacious luxury cabin located just 12 miles west of downtown Bend. Situated on a unique 640-acre private parcel of forested land surrounded on all sides by the Deschutes National Forest, there are limitless trails for hiking, biking, x-country skiing and snowshoeing and the private lake offers free fishing, kayaking, canoeing and SUP. There is a wonderful 2-mile hike around the lake, a lakeside deck with chairs and a picnic table, a swimming dock and a lakeside fire pit (not allowed during fire season).

The Creekside Cabin is a high-end masterpiece of craftsmanship, constructed of huge Douglas Fir beams, cedar siding and shakes. Huge windows in every room provide a tree-house sensation with amazing views of nature in every direction. The large wrap-around deck and comfortable Adirondack chairs and rockers allow for relaxing in the fresh air while taking in the gorgeous natural surroundings and views.

The beautiful furnishings create an ambiance of casual luxury. The cabin's interior features knotty pine wood walls, doors and trim, knotty alder cabinets, and granite counter tops. The first floor open floor plan includes radiant heated floors and decorative rugs. The large living area has a wood-burning stove and huge windows with lake views. The large dining area has floor to ceiling windows with views of nature on all sides. The large chef's kitchen features granite counter tops and stainless appliances including a Jenn-Air professional stove. There is a half bath on this floor and a queen bedroom with ensuite bathroom with direct access to the deck.

The second floor features gorgeous high-pitched wood ceilings, two king bedrooms with ensuite bathroom and 1 queen bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a second living room area. The upstairs living area has huge windows with commanding views of the lake and a queen sofa bed. Bedrooms feature iron beds with quilts, cozy down comforters and pillows, and high thread count sheets. Each bedroom has amazing views in three directions. The ensuite baths feature either a shower or shower over bathtub, granite counter tops, radiant heated floors, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion amenities and hair dryer.

There are a multitude of activities and amenities right out your door on the Tumalo Lake property. Enjoy hiking (there is a wonderful 2-mile hike around the lake and other longer ones), mountain biking, swimming, boating (complimentary kayaks, canoes, SUPs), fishing (no license required), birding, and playing cornhole and horseshoes. Relax on your private deck in a hammock or at the shared fire pit or lake deck, and stargaze from your private hot tub. While wildlife viewing from your deck, the lake deck or on the lake in your kayak/canoe you may spot ducks, blue heron, osprey, golden eagles, bald eagles as well as great horned owl, pileated woodpecker and others. In winter, snowshoe, sled, x-country ski, cozy up around your wood-burning stove or outside with s'mores at the shared fire pit.

You can catch an art exhibit, dine at an award-winning restaurant, shop the boutiques, spoil yourself at one of our many spas, trek the legendary Bend Ale Trail, listen to live music or a enjoy a local festival. Creekside Cabin - mountain lake oasis

An incredible property, house, lake and stay. We basked in the sunshine and played on the lake while enjoying our well designed and comfortable accomodations. It was wonderful to stay at a place where you could spend all your time rather than driving around.

We rented Tumalo Lodge and Creekside cabin for two nights.

We filled Tumalo Lodge and the Creekside Cabin with friends and family for a lovely fall weekend. We Swam, played corn hole, hiked, gazed at the stars, and enjoyed the beauty and privacy of this lovely property. Both the lodge and the cabin are beautifully appointed. High end furniture, linens, appliances, etc; spacious and clean. If you have a chef in your crowd, they will be in heaven. Fabulous kitchen. So lovely! We have no complaints at all. I'd come back today!

Cozy Winter Escape at Tumalo Lake Lodge

Our stay at Tumalo Lake Lodge was peaceful and refreshing. The cabin was beautifully crafted, with cozy furnishings, a wood-burning stove, and stunning lake views. The private hot tub was a great way to relax after a day outside. The surrounding forest was covered in beautiful snow, making the scenery even more breathtaking. We loved exploring the nearby trails and enjoying the quiet, secluded setting. Yet, Bend was just a short drive away. If you’re looking for a perfect nature retreat with modern comforts, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!

Our new favorite vacation spot in Central Oregon

Property is amazing, so quiet and relaxing. Just what we needed. Home is outfitted extremely well. We love the remoteness of the cabin. It was so easy to disconnect from everything for a much needed time to decompress. I can't recommend more highly.

Hiking in Paradise

Upon our easy check in we entered our large well appointed cabin. All of the bedrooms were spacious with en-suite bathrooms and comfy beds. We cooked every night for a week and had everything we needed to prepare our meals and a large table for everyone to enjoy dinner together. We had happy hour every evening on the deck and enjoyed being out on the lake every day. Bend is about 25 minutes away and such a great town where we enjoyed some awesome breweries. Great coming back to a comfortable house after a day of hiking. Would definitely recommend.

Annual Ski Trip with Friends

Every year we get together for a ski vacation, usually in BC, but Covid made that more challenging so we decided to try Bachelor last year. I ended up finding this amazing lodge for us last winter and enjoyed our stay so much, we decided to come back again this year. It is a beautiful lodge in a quiet lake, mountain setting, where we each can have our own cozy bedroom with bath, a big well equipped kitchen for cooking meals with a big dining table for gathering, and comfy couches for lounging around and looking at the lake. It’s about a 30 minute drive to ski, but worth the time to come back to such lovely environs. Town is 15 minutes or so, and mountain biking even closer. Oh, and the hot tub is great after a day skiing. The only thing I might improve upon is sharper knives in the kitchen, but that seems to be the way with rental houses.

Wonderful get away to a quiet and peaceful mountain luxury cabin.

This is our second time staying at this cabin. It has plenty of space for my family of 8. The view from the inside is honestly our favorite! HUGE windows every you turn! The trees and the lake with the snow is breathtaking. We explored downtown Bend this time and went snow skiing at Mt. Bachlor. Our drive was only about 30 min to ski. Also, the kitchen is stocked with everything you might need. We did a family “bake off” and had plenty of space and all of the things needed! It truly is a quiet, peaceful place. Don’t forget to do the 2 mile hike outside of the cabin around the lake, my daughter is a photographer and she gets amazing shots on the hike! We are from the OKC area and we travel a long way to get to this cabin. In other words, it’s worth it! We hope to come back a 3rd time in the future.

Beautiful home on a quiet lake near Bend

We booked the Creekside Cabin for two families, and it was everything we could ask for. The Home is spacious, and it has bathrooms for each bedroom. There is plenty of living space, and lots of room to be social. The kitchen is well stocked. The wrap-around deck and views of the lake are lovely. They had games, a hammock, lots of firewood for a fire (which we never used), and plenty of kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddle boards to explore the lake. The lake is small, but perfect if you have kids and want them to go out, have fun, and explore. The walk around the lake is pleasant, and there are also some great hikes and mountain biking opportunities throughout the region. Our only challenge was that there were lots of mosquitoes in June, so bring bug spray. Initially, this affected the kids, but we discovered the mosquitoes did not hang out on the lake, so if you are doing lake activities, you were perfectly fine. This was a pleasant surprise and made the trip well worth it, and not an issue. It's about 20 minutes outside of Bend, so a perfect country getaway, with plenty of opportunities to go into town and explore as well. Thanks!

Mountain bliss

We stayed at the Creekside Cabin for three nights. Our group included my brother and his two kids (ages 20 & 14) my best friend from college and her two kids (ages 16 & 14) and my family (hubby and two boys, aged 9 & 11). The home was a perfect retreat for our group. We loved its proximity to Bend, Tumalo Falls, & just the sheer beauty of its Deschutes National Forest location. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed with all that anyone would need for a restful and enjoyable stay. It was lovely to have an array of watercraft options (paddle boards, kayaks, canoes) to tool around the lake in and the kids played for hours on paddle boards and the floating dock. We loved having an en suite bathroom for each bedroom and the hot tub was well-used by the kids. We played lots of board games in the common area and enjoyed dinners around the large dining table. The kitchen was very well-stocked with ample pots, pans, utensils, mixing bowls, glassware, plates, bowls, etc. as well as many basic spices and olive oil. It was one of the most pleasant trips our family has ever enjoyed. Thanks so much to Tracy & Bill for being such wonderful hosts and sharing this slice of heaven with us!

Beautiful cabin I wish I lived in!

The Creekside Cabin is an absolutely gorgeous property in an amazing location. The house is massive and very comfortable, and the deck space was such a bonus for enjoying the early summer weather. The views are stunning, it's quiet, and we couldn't ask for a better place to hide from reality for a few days. Across the Creekside, Lakeside East, and Tumalo Lake Lodge buildings, we hosted 22 people, and we had more than enough space. I'll continue to host folks here for years to come!

Beautiful Place to UnPlug!

Tumalo Lake Lodge was magical! Our family of five stayed in the Creekside Cabin, with a beautiful view from the wraparound deck of the fully stocked private lake. My husband and son spent a lot of time fly fishing from kayaks and in three days caught 33 fish! We spent our days hiking around the lake and taking advantage of the extensive mountain biking in the area. We rode to Tumalo Falls, which is just up the road from the lodge; and the Creekside Cabin is also only a 10-minute drive to Bend for groceries. The cabin was quite large, offering plenty of room to spread out but also provided perfect family gathering spaces. With only four cabin homes and the main lodge on 640 private acres, the surroundings are immensely peaceful. No TVs...but plenty of board games. The setting is rustic, yet these cabin homes have all the amenities you'd want for a family getaway in the mountains surrounding Bend. The experience was so relaxing; we now want to make this an annual family trip!

3rd time around is better than the first 2, and those 2 were great!

Great family environment meets the needs of a close family that stuck closer to home this time, and really benefited from the resources at Tumalo.Grandkids (4) were the main feature, and they spent enormous time on the lake using all of the facilities on the lake with minimal parental involvement. Great to see how the progression has been from 2017 to 2021 to now for these children. (Couldn't do it in a sentence!)

Host profile image
From the early 1930’s until 2005 when we bought the Tumalo Lake property, the original family owners operated a small vacation resort. There were six small log cabins, one of which doubled as an office. In addition to the trout-stocked lake there was a swimming pool area at one side of the lake, an ice house, utility sheds and outhouses. It was completely off the grid.

Upon purchase of the property, we began to create a specialty resort that would offer luxury vacation rental accommodations built in a cabin style, taking advantage of gorgeous natural surroundings. Tumalo Lake Lodge and Cabins is a one-of-a-kind property that offers a truly unique Bend experience...immerse in the natural beauty and serenity of Tumalo Lake while staying in spectacular accommodations with close access to all that downtown Bend and the surrounding area has to offer.

Why they chose this property

After living in Chicago and pursuing our careers for many years, we chose to move to Central Oregon for all of the outdoor activities right out our door, and for a more peaceful lifestyle. We love being in Central Oregon and enjoy sharing this amazing place with our guests. We love the Tumalo Lake property – its beauty and privacy, and immersion in nature.

What makes this property unique

The Tumalo Lake Lodge & Cabins offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Located at the water's edge of Tumalo Lake on 640 private forested acres, the property offers unlimited trails and outdoor activity right out your door. Relax in casual luxury and immerse in nature, yet have quick access to downtown Bend’s wonderful restaurants, galleries, brewpubs, music & festivals, shopping, and all the wonderful outdoor activities that Central Oregon has to offer.
