Our family of 5 relocated with our 4 big dogs in 2010. Due to our careers we had to move back to the east coast and could not let our beautiful retreat like home be sold. We turned it into a rental so that we could return as often as possible. We enjoy horseback riding at hickory nut gap farm, hot yoga in east asheville, drumming with billy at skinny beats and all the eclectic things Asheville offers.

Close to everything! Whimsical, open concept and great outdoor entertaining or quiet reading. GIANT DECK, OUTDOOR FIRE PIT
This home offers the best of both worlds - being far enough out that you feel peaceful and secluded but at the same time you are only minutes from shopping and tons of the attractions that make Asheville one of the most popular destinations in the South East.

We had a great girls weekend at this property. It would work well for families that want to stay in and relax in the mountains, or for those who want to adventure around. The driveway is pretty sporty, but fairly typical for a vista home in the mountains. If you're not familiar with mountain driveways and roads, then go easy and preferably not in the dark your first time. Our group of 5 did not use the kitchen for any cooking, but there were enough coffee mugs, wine and water glasses. I think you'd find what you need for preparing full meals - the drawers and cabinets appeared to be full. We drove out to Dupont State Park, to the Biltmore, and several trips to downtown and around town. It was about 22-26 minutes to the airport depending on traffic/time of day. The property is Southeast of Asheville (so East of 26 and 25, and South of I-40) if you're mapping out your agenda. The bathrooms are stocked with simple toiletries, and like the listing says, there is a K-cup machine and an assortment of coffees. The towels and bedding all smelled fresh with plenty of extra pillows and blankets for comfortable sleeping in every room. Our group only had one piece of constructive feedback to offer. The room with the two beds is lacking proper curtains. There are no blinds and sheer/gauzy "curtains" that didn't block any sun. For my friends from other time zones, this was a real bummer. Another room had curtains on half of the windows. The master had proper blinds and curtains. I only mention this here because my children need relative darkness for naps and it's something I always forget to ask about. There are only a few steps to get into the house if you're traveling with anyone who has limited mobility. The master and a second BR are on the main level - which includes a lovely covered, but not screened-in, deck. We hung out on both levels - great for teens/children to have a separate space downstairs for gaming or movie night. If you want to call a Uber/Lyft/Taxi, then leave enough time for them to get to you. We ran into a few delays and some interesting drivers when we needed cars. Lastly, I'm not sure what they're calling Bedroom 5 in some parts of this listing. It says 4 in the description and that's what they had for our visit. Just ask them if needed. The owners were easy to reach via text/phone. A nice property to split with other friends or families, or fitting for a larger single family. I would definitely come back to this property! TY, Cindy!
Arriving at this home we quickly realized that it is even more impressive in person than pictures. The views and outdoor areas are outstanding. The layout of the home worked perfectly for our family. My daughter, husband and grandchildren settled into the lower level while my wife and I and son made ourselves comfortable on the main level. Since this was a December stay we made good use of both the indoor wood burning fireplace and the outdoor fire pit. My granddaughter got to enjoy her first s’mores and informed us that she wants to come back and vacation in this house again; of course we all agreed that we found the perfect getaway house in Asheville. A trip to downtown Asheville is a very short 15 minute car ride where you will find great places to both eat and shop. Cindy and Jeff are great to work with and will go out of their way to make your stay perfect. We cannot wait until we return!
What a great family holiday in a beautiful spacious getaway. This was a perfect place for our family to gather from Boston, Orlando and Atlanta. We definitely made lifelong memories for our children and grandchildren in this wonderful home. The house was a perfect combination of rustic yet eclectic tranquility coupled with all up to date conveniences. We felt very comfortable making this our temporary home away from home. Great location and we discovered that it was "20 minutes" from everywhere!
Our family agreed that this is a place we would like to return to. Thank you for a spectacular experience!!
It was our first visit to Asheville and this dream house. We arrived late Saturday afternoon and opened the door to a spotless fully equipped home in mint condition for our six adults and 3 children under four. Four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths served us well - plenty of room of everybody. The house is gorgeous even better than the photos. It provides full privacy and a peaceful environment yet it is just a short drive to all sorts of activities - Biltmore Estate, downtown Asheville restaurant shops and galleries, parks, grocery stores, etc. Thoroughly enjoyed the covered deck area and grill for family meals. The internet was down once but after a call to the owners they contacted the service provider and had it back up within an hour or two. Another thrill was watching the hummingbirds at the feeders on the back deck. Highly recommend this beautiful home for your next visit to Asheville.
We totally enjoyed our stay at the house. We wish we had another week to really get to relax. Next time! Cindy was great and very responsive.
