10 miles from Torch Lake, 22 miles to Turtle Creek, 10 minutes to the Glacial Hills bike trails and 5 miles to the famous Shorts Brewery!
This is a perfect location and affordable way to visit northern michigan and take day trips to many lovely little towns. You will not be bored here.
We have some of the best golf courses in Michigan. We are on the 18th hole of Schuss. Within minutes there is The Chief, Summit, Hawkseye, The Legend, cedar River and The Farm.
Bring your boat (place to park a boat out front), canoes, kayaks. We are close to some of the most beautiful lakes including Torch, Lake Bellaire and the chain of lakes.
Winter activities. Downhill skiing is amazing with 53 runs on 2 mountains and featuring 4 terrain parks. All levels of skiers love Schuss Mountain.
The cross country trail is just out your backdoor. A downhill pass allows access to the cross country trail. Enjoy the beautiful views while getting exercise.

There are a couple of reasons why Iā€™m giving this place three stars. First and foremost: ants. They were everywhereā€”on the floor, in the carpet, even on the furniture. At one point, the blanket fell off the bed and when I picked it up, it had ants on it. It was really uncomfortable, and I feel like this is something that should be under control with proper pest management. Second, the home really needs to be updated. It felt a bit worn down, and while it was still functional, the overall condition took away from the experience. Iā€™ve stayed in a few other condos in Schuss Mountain for other trips and they were great, so with some attention to pest control and a few updates, this place could be a much more enjoyable stay.

Love staying at shanty creek. Over cleanliness could have been improved. Noticed dust on most surfaces especially under the couch and on side tables.

Very snug

This place was close to the slopes but unfortunately it was farther from.the parking lot than the listing made it sound and there was so much snow that there was only space for about 4 to 5 cars for more than one building. The photos made the unit look much larger than it was and we didnt have the space to use the sleeper sofa for our 2 kids. There was not any place to even hang our gear to all dry before the next day. I feel the owners should stay there and look at things like paint chips or dry wall repair and such. Just appeared to need some TLC compared to other places we stayed. All our gear ended up piled pn the floor. Not a great place to tuck anything. Also the lights in the bathroom need to be checked as they would only work sometimes.

Nice stay for skiing

We wanted an affordable, simple place to stay for a 3 day ski trip. This place was a good fit for those reasons. We had 2 adults and 2 kids under 11 and it worked out just fine for us.

Unexpected trip

I had a death in the family i had to make an unexpected trip for. Was very pleased at tge accommodations. I may need to come back in a few weeks to settle up more of the estate and funeral proceedings. Hope it will be available again! My only issue is the tv remotes need new batteries.

Quick Up North Getaway

Just Right For a Few Days Winter Getaway

Very cozy for just the two of us -- enjoying Special Olympics Winter Games for a few days. The lounge chair in the living room was broken (but still useable). Otherwise everything was great.

This rental was perfect for my husband and I. A very comfortable landing spot after 7 enjoyable days of golf. Very clean and well stocked even for a week long stay!

Vacation at Shuss

Nice little condo for 2.if youā€™re a golfer itā€™s perfect . Renters should be aware of the entree code box instructions were not informative on how it operates. Plus vague tv operation instructions. I texted the hostess on this with no reply.it took us 3 days to finally figure it out Owner needs to redo the information notebook for the guests. Also the dresser drawers were full of their items as well as the closet. With some rearranging we made it work for us. The gas grill was nasty and never cleaned from its past guests. Meaning baked on food. Again I addressed this to the hostess and received no reply. Other than a few issues ,we made it work for us but will make sure these issues are taken care of before arrival

Clean place to stay

Let me emphasize the good things first. The place was immaculate and very well equipped except for one glaring omission I will cover below. It is small - smaller even than I expected - but we didn't intend to spend much time there so that didn't matter. It was more inconvenient than I thought it would be. Saying it is 45 minutes from Charlevoix sounds a lot better than driving it actually is. If you want to play golf or sit around and just "chill" you probably won't mind, but if you want to explore all the north has to offer you will find many attractions (Lake Michigan, Mackinac Island, festivals. etc.) require a lengthy drive which will eat into the time you have each day. My biggest gripe is that although it is listed as having a TV you can't find anything you actually want to watch. No ESPN or live sports; no Jeopardy; no network programming at all. No Netflix, no Amazon Prime. If you have a subscription to a streaming channel (like the aforementioned Netflix) and try to log on you will find someone else's user name already filled it and you won't be able to use it. I emailed the contact to find out if I was able to access any cable or local channels, and she in turn emailed the owner. He simply said I should be able to get them, but when I asked 'how", there was no reply. I realize I'm an old guy and someone younger may have been able to figure it out but I can't get over the fact the owner failed to respond.

Winter, skiing both downhill and cross country, dog sledding, tubing. Summer has endless fun things to do. Golf, boating, biking, hiking, shopping, wine tasting, canoeing and kayaking. A major attraction is Shorts Brewery in Bellaire. The quaint town of Bellaire is 6miles away. 15 minutes away you can spend the day on Torch Lake and stop at the Dockside restaurant for dinner.
