'South Cay' is an absolutely beautiful house in Anna Maria, on Anna Maria Island, Florida. There are only 11 houses between South Cay and the Gulf of Mexico beach, so this property is very close to the beach. Walk out the house, look to your right, and you see the beach access. Look us up to see how close "South Cay" in Anna Maria is to the beach!. In addition, this is probably the nicest section of the beach on the island.
South Cay is also close to Anna Maria's charming island shopping area (Pine Avenue), which means you can stroll to a breakfast place or the ice cream parlor, and walk to shops and stores.
South Cay has 4 bedrooms and 2 and a half baths. The house is in mint condition. The master bedroom has a high-end king-size bed. In addition, there are two queen beds, and a single.
South Cay has a screened front porch, a screened master bedroom side deck that leads to a larger rear deck, and a 3rd floor screened rear deck.
There are four flat panel TVs of various sizes, cable, wireless high-speed internet, and free phone use within the US.
The new pool is large (14 feet X 28 feet). RECOMMENDATION: Ask for pool sizes when comparing rental properties. Few have a pool this size!
South Cay also comes with free NETFLIX access, allowing you to select and view movies (available on the main TV).
At the end of our street there is a wildlife preserve section on the beach where turtles live (Google shows it as a "park"). You cross it on a wooden walkway as you access the beach. The beach is the beautiful Gulf beach. See last two pictures of this posting. These are pictures of the beach at the end of Palmetto Ave.
We keep upgrading South Cay, so there may be small differences in decorations and furniture between the pictures posted and the actual house at the time of your rental.
South Cay is a 'NO-PETS, NO-SMOKING' property.

A wonderful home for a fantastic family vacation!
This is a warm, well appointed and cared for home. It has great spaces for hanging out together including a beautiful pool, lovely screened in porch and beautiful family room/kitchen space. Best of all, it is a 5 minute walk from the most beautiful beach with amazing sunsets each night. The owner is very responsive. I highly recommend this vacation home! We will be back!
Better Than The Pictures
We stayed at this beautiful home with friends in January, 2018. The home was perfect for us. We all loved our stay and would go back in a heart beat. The owners were very kind and helpful, easy to stay in touch with. The master bed was incredibly comfortable and made it difficult to get motivated in the mornings. The screen porch off the dining area was a comfy place for us to gather together have coffee and plan our day. We made breakfast nearly every morning in the cutest kitchen. The home is incredibly charming, decorated with the beach in mind. You can tell the owners take great pride in their home with the exceptional care given to it. It was so homey and relaxing, we enjoyed 10 days of complete peaceful relaxation. This part of the Island was quiet it was everything we were looking for, the other parts of the island are more on the busy side. The beach is maybe a block away it is a gorgeous white sand beach as far as you can see both directions. We walked around the point to the other side and stopped at Rod and Reel Pier for a libation. The Sandbar restaurant was fantastic not only watching the sunset but drinks, apps and dinner (they do not take reservations, first come first serve). We also walked to Pine Ave. to look through the boutique shops, had ice cream at Two Scoops which was wonderful, stopped at the General store for milk, bread, TP etc. We did our main shopping in Holmes Beach at Publix for our major shopping. We went to Slim's restaurant which is only a few doors down making it convenient to pop in for lunch, dinner or a glass of wine. We had access to the owners Netflix account which was great. Every evening we would have (Coffee) Martini and Movie night. We did not rent a car, we found a local service on the Island AMI taxi that came to pick us up at Tampa Bay airport round trip was $180 for the 4 of us, highly recommended. We also rode the Monkey Bus (they just get paid by tips and will pick you up and drop you off right at your door), the Trolly and there was an Uber (same guy both times different days). On Pine Ave. there are golf carts to rent, if it would have been a tad warmer we would have definitely rented one but only for running around this end of the Island, too much traffic to venture towards Holmes and Bradenton beach in a golf cart. If you are looking for nightlife of clubs, dancing etc. this end of the Island is not for you. If you are looking to get away from it all and just Be this is the place.
Superb facilities, excellent location
We spent the week just before and after New Year's here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The facilities are superb and the location is very practical - both close to the beach as well as shops, restaurants, etc on the island (all a 5-10 minute walk away). The pool is heated and a good size so you can have a decent swim even in slightly chilly weather (which we got on the final 2 days due to the arctic bomb). The place was in great condition and the rooms spacious. Wifi is also fast and the kitchen has all the necessary facilities.
Great house and awesome location
Great house to stay at. Our kids loved the pool and it's only seconds to the beach. Loved the screened in porch. There is a lot of good restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Anna Maria.
This was our third time visiting Anna Maria Island for a family Spring Break. This was our favorite house, especially because of the location. The house is nicely furnished and decorated and the pool is one of the bigger pools you can find for a private home on AMI. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and plenty of room, both indoors and on the porches and in the pool area. Our favorite thing about it was how convenient it is to the beach and all our favorite stops: The Sand Bar, The Donut Experiment, Ginny and Jane E's for coffee, the Pine Avenue shopping etc. We never even used the trolley because we could walk everywhere very easily. The next time we visit Anna Maria Island, we will definitely look to see if this house is available!
Beautiful beach house!
A perfect family vacation! Enjoyed two weeks with our four children aged 9-13. Minutes to the sand and clear water, and a warm pool to enjoy in between. A welcoming, beautifully decorated, clean and well supplied home. Only good things to say!
