Breathtaking mountain and sunset views...huge cabin with cozy atmosphere
Bear Ridge is a 4 bedroom cabin located near the top of Pine Mountain in a private mountain setting that is only 2 miles from the middle of the parkway in Pigeon Forge (Pine Mountain Road). There are two king suites and two queen suites, with the queen suites being handicap accessible. The kitchen is fully equipped to allow preparation of meals and a charcoal grill is provided for outdoor cooking. The house boasts 2 stacked stone fireplaces with gas logs (not the electric fireplaces that you find in many cabins). There is a new 6 person hot tub on the deck which is great to relax in after days of shopping in the outlets or hiking in the mountains. In addition, an indoor sauna is located in the lower level, directly behind the wet bar.
The house offers large screen TVs in the den and game room, a wet bar, and a pool table for entertainment. Wi-Fi is available.
Bear Ridge is handicap accessible. There is a ramp on the back side of the house and 2 bedrooms on the main level for use by guests who have difficulty getting around. The kitchen and den are also on the main level.
Unlike many cabins in communities, there is plenty of parking and space to turn around.

We were so pleased with the cabin! Our family of 10 had a wonderful time! Extremely clean, and roomy! The kitchen was stocked with quality appliances and equipment. I cooked two big breakfasts and had everything I needed. We will definitely plan on a repeat visit. My daughter is in a wheelchair and the bedroom, bathroom, and ramp were very accommodating.
Owner was amazing my second time staying there and we had snow storm hit and she was amazing told us to stay another night if we had to but we was able to shovel the whole driveway and get out will stay there again
This property is a spacious with gorgeous views. It was very clean and the has everything you need in the cabin. The owner was very responsive and friendly.
We loved the cabin. We had 8 adults and each couple had their own bedroom and bathrooms! Everything was very clean and the condo has all the amenities you need. We will definitely look into this cabin again the next time we go to the Smoky Mountains.
Everyone had a wonderful week with the spacious rooms and views! We had a visit from 2 cubs and mamma bear the first evening. Bear Ridge had all the amenities listed, along with plenty of towels and blankets. It was cozy and not far at all from Pigeon Forge attractions.
Nice clean cabin high up in the mountains was ok but rock roads were not expected. The road needs to be improved to asphalt. Location was good for our stay.

Thanks for the review of the cabin. I do want to address your concern regarding the road. All of the owners in this area have tried repeatedly to get the county to pave Pinecrest Way, but unfortunately to date we have been unsuccessful. So in the meantime, we bring in many loads of gravel a couple of times a year and smooth the roads. If it was a little bumpy for your stay, I apologize. We had some strong thunderstorms that did cause some temporary ruts in the road. In addition to adding gravel, I personally cut the brush on the sides of the road to provide as much clearance as possible for guests so that driving to the cabin is as pleasant as possible.
We loved our stay here! We went for Thanksgiving week and the decor was so festive. The home is beautiful and cozy. The views are breathtaking. The pictures don’t do it justice. Be aware of bears! We saw a couple in the evening near the home. Would definitely stay again!
Overall very good place except for hot tub. Kids were excited to use it but water in it was not clean and tub it self had some stains.

Thanks for your review! I am glad that you enjoyed your stay. As for the hot tub, the water was drained and the hot tub cleaned prior to your arrival. The house has an older hot tub that has some mineral stains from the well water on the walls that I nor my cleaners are no longer able to remove. However, I can assure you that the hot tub was cleaned. I have ordered a new hot tub and it should be in some time in April or May depending on delivery, so those stains will no longer be an issue.
This was the most beautiful cabin with an amazing view. We had plenty of room for everyone and plenty of things to do. The hot tub was great after a long day of spending time out and about. My only regret is that I cannot live there for the rest of my life.
We came to visit over New Years for a celebration with family and friends. The house was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees and other holiday themed decor. It was warm and cozy and very clean. We stayed with 4 families and every family had their own bedroom and bathroom! The location was perfect to all nearby attractions and the views from the house were just incredible! We truly enjoyed our stay! Thank you Wendy for such a great place to celebrate a start of a New Year!
Properly was as described. Very clean and BEAUTIFUL VIEWS♥️. WI-FI has issues. I think moving the satellite could easily remedy this. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We really liked the size of this house as well as the privacy. It really is beautiful and I would definitely stay again. The only part of the drive that I didn’t care for was going uphill on loose gravel with only enough road for one vehicle at a time so if someone has to back up or down quite a ways and the small crater that is tricky to drive around as you turn onto the street.
Don’t get me wrong the location was beautiful and especially without a long drive up a mountain. I didn’t try the sauna room but everything else in the house worked perfectly. The guys enjoyed the pool table/bar in the basement. I liked the ease of the timer on the fireplace.
Tennessee is truly God’s country. The house is beautiful, the views are gorgeous. The only negative is the linens need to be replaced. I understand the water is hard which stains the linens after time but the use black towels instead of white. I also thought there would be kitchen essentials such as coffee, paper towels, toilet paper. There were three rolls of extra toilet paper for eleven people for three days. Also dishwasher detergent two packets for three days and seven people.
All in all the house is a great experience.

I am disappointed to hear about the issues with the linens. I have very recently changed cleaning companies and had not yet had any complaints. I did get to see the cabin after the last cleaning and I agree that the linens need upgrading. I have decided to purchase my own linens and they will be in the cabin by the end of the week, as my goal is 100% customer satisfaction. I do not expect quality to ever be an issue and I strive to address any concerns ASAP.
As for the supplies that are mentioned, guests are provided starter supplies, not enough for the entire stay. I do ha e coffee filters in the cabin, but have never considered providing coffee. I will have to think on this one for awhile and decide if this is a direction that I want to go!

Handicap accessible
The main reason we rented this cabin was handicap accessible with 2 rooms and baths on main floor. One room had handicap shower, but no toilet grab bars.. the other room had toilet grab bars but no handicap shower. On first night, WaterLeak occurred in one of the handicapped rooms. My 87 year old aunt awoke to her chest and bed wet. This required room arrangement that made another handicapped person sleep downstairs.which was quite difficult for her to navigate the stairs. Another leak in kitchen. Requested additional towels to keep the floor dry. Took pics and sent to owner. Owner replied that a roofer would be out next week, but did not reply re towels etc to keep the floors dry. We pushed bed over to prevent water damage to bed. Saw trash, dust, old food underneath bed. Dishes and cabinet pulls dirty. 1 dishrag in kitchen. Back burner on stove did not work. The cabin was beautiful, the scenery and location fantastic. Would stay there again if cleaning issues were addressed Only regret is no response to water leak that left that bedroom unusable for the trip. And caused the other handicap person to navigate dangerously downstairs to sleep due to the water leak. Also had only 1 long stemmed wine glass- which was disappointing. Gas fire place was very nice. Again scenery was wonderful.

I do have to apologize for the handicap accessibility oversight. When I purchased the cabin over 3 yrs ago, all of the handicap accessibility equipment was already in place. I did not investigate thoroughly enough to realize that there was a assist bar needed for the one toilet. There is a partial wall just next to the toilet that is easy to grab and so I assumed that that was adequate. I will be installing a hand assist bar later this month.
As for the roof leak, when I contacted the roofer that I use, he was backed up and we looked at the weather forecast and discovered that there was no additional rain expected, so the issue was not time critical. The roof leak has since been addressed! I received no request for additional towels. I keep spare "work towels" in my maintenance room that is always accessible by guests and would have informed the guest of this should additional towels been required to clean the floor.
The leak in the kitchen was the dishwasher (only 2 yrs old) that developed a pin hole leak in the brass metal fitting where the water entered the dishwasher. This too has been repaired!
My cleaners do not handle the dishes, other than put them away, so a previous renter must have put away dishes that were not clean. I have now addressed cleaning concerns with the cleaning crew and made some additional requests so that these type issues will be minimized in the future.
As for the stove, one has been ordered, but I am waiting on delivery. Everything is backed up due to the impact of COVID-19. Many appliances are backordered until May, so I feel fortunate to be getting one in mid January!
I have finally been able to get to the cabin to check it out after a very busy holiday period. Obviously things happen when you are not there to oversee and check behind guests/cleaners. With the rental season slowing down, I will get to spend more time at the cabin identifying and correcting issues. This is a common practice after the busy fall and holiday rental season!
I do hope that the review by this guest does not discourage potential renters. The place is a great place to spend some down time with your friends and family. It feels remote, but you can be on the Parkway in the heart of the city in less than 10 minutes! Come check it out!
We have been going to Pigeon Forge for 35 year. This was one of the best houses we’ve stayed at. My family loved this house. So clean. Well stocked. Great Location. The owner was very pleasant. We will definitely stay again.

About the host
Hosted by Wendy Clamp
I currently reside in Sevierville, TN. I am the mother of two grown children and 4 granddaughters. I retired in 2021 from INVISTA in Lugoff, SC where I spent 33+ years working as an engineer in the fibers business. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I am passionate about college football and baseball.
I have been renting property for many years (I have a condo in Hilton Head Island, SC and this house in the Great Smoky Mountains.)
Why they chose this property
Bear Ridge offers all the amenities that you need to relax and get away from it all. It feels like you are surrounded by nature. However, with that said, it is only 2 miles from the center of Pigeon Forge. It is close to everything without feeling like it is close. There are no cars that pass by the property, as it has a private driveway, so it is quiet and serene.
I wanted a house big enough for my family and friends to enjoy when it is not rented, thus the 4 bedroom house. My friend owns the other 3 larger houses on this mountain and thus this property is very close and allows for large gatherings.
