Waterfront Pine Cottage
Nicely furnished cottage with crisp pine walls and floors in the pines above Rust Pond. Large deck with great pond views and waterside deck with steps into the crystal pond. Kitchen has all amenities, very nice primary bedroom and bathroom - provides all modern amenities while keeping the pine cottage decor. Relaxing atmosphere.
We had fun on the paddle boards, fishing and exploring in the kayaks and even taking the Sunfish out one afternoon. We enjoyed hearing a pair of loons and watching them fish. We even saw a bald eagle fly by the dock twice.

Nellie's View is the perfect setting for a family vacation. Relaxing, beautiful and fun for all.
The Pond is perfect, the scenery sublime. The cabin nestled on the wooded hillside above the lake felt like home away from home. Comfortable and cozy with furniture and décor that brought us right in to the rustic lakeside cottage theme, yet supplied with everything we would need or want the whole week long. We loved the view of the Pond from two deck levels and our private dock at the water level. The family enjoyed campfires(and Smores!) together at the fire pit near the lower level deck.
Our 3 boys spent their days bouncing from fishing to swimming to paddle boarding and boating and loved every moment! Our dog Maizy joined in as well.
Sharing the beach, grounds and recreation areas at Grey Shingles enhanced the experience even further giving the boys all sorts of optional activities to enjoy. Power-boating and touring on the Mount Washington on nearby Winnipesaukee and shopping in downtown Wolfeboro(only 5 minutes car ride away) were all we needed to add for what was truly our favorite vacation to date. Thanks Robin and Rich! We look forward to the next time we visit.

Better than listing describes!
Nellie's View is great. The little house has everything you need. The private bedroom (queen) has an en suite bath, and there's a pull-out queen too. There is a set of bunkbeds for two little people (and I mean little as they are short and narrow.) The half bath off the kitchen is much appreciated. It's all been updated and is quite comfortable. There is a TV with basic channels but we only turned it on once. We didn't bring our Amazon Fire so no movies or shows, which was just fine in the end. The weather was so nice we never wanted to watch anyway.
The grill works well, the view to the lake is as shown in the pictures (perfect with a cup of coffee or cocktail in hand), and the water is delightful. Rich and Robin have several SUPs and kayaks, with paddles and PFDs you can use, and a sunfish which we used every day. There's a little beach where guests from the cabins use, with a dock, and it's easy to launch the boats/boards from there.
Of course Wolfeboro is a great town, offering access to the big lake (Winnipesaukee) right off the town docks. There's good coffee, a juicery/smoothie place, a dive shop, hardware store, easy and casual places to eat. The super market in town is limited but has the basics. Best to stop at a Hannafords on the way if you plan to cook. We enjoyed The Wolftrap just off the main downtown area, eating outside. As of this writing we could only eat at establishments with outdoor tables, which was fine. We walked about 3 miles (out of 12) on the Rail Trail which is flat and starts at the center of town, a good way to see Lake Wentworth and get little history lessons on the path with informational placards placed along the way.
Rich and Robin were very attentive to our needs and couldn't have been nicer. They have a very special place at Grey Shingles Camp, and Nellie's View is just part of the experience they offer.
Be sure to bake some cookies for Rich while you're there!

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Robin Wyman
Hi! We are Rich and Robin Wyman. We purchased Grey Shingles in the summer of 2015 having fallen in love at first site with this beautiful property and Wolfeboro!
We moved from our family home of 30 years in Massachusetts where we raised our two children, Sam and Rachel. Now that they're off doing their own things we have our other kids-Tucker and Archie. Our black lab named Nellie sadly passed in 2015 and we've named our new cottage after her! After many summers of our kids going to camp and our family vacationing around Lake Winnipesaukee, we decided to move here and begin a new adventure together.
Rich's career in landscape management spanned 30 years in the Boston area. He oversaw the care of many prestigious Boston properties including the award winning Post Office Square, Landmark Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and the Museum of Fine Arts. Having begun his work as a Certified Arborist, and earning the MCLP distinction, Rich knows and understands all aspects of the landscape business. He brings his talents to Grey Shingles Camps as well as his love of all sports, recreation, and having fun!
Robin has spent the last 30 years operating Robin Wyman Landscape Design in metrowest Boston. Having always loved plants, she brought her natural design aesthetic and great knowledge of plant material to hundreds of clients. During a period of tremendous development in the surrounding suburbs, Robin provided landscape planning to homeowners, architects, and towns as well as building and landscape contractors. She also brings her talents to Grey Shingles Camps as well as her love of family, fun, and nature.
We are thrilled to be able to offer an authentic camp experience to our guests in completely renovated accommodations with use of our property and waterfront. It is a special place and we hope you will visit and create your own special memories here!
We welcome you to Nellie's View and Grey Shingles Camps!
