This was a beautiful place to stay for our one year anniversary. The house was adorable, had everything in it we needed, and the large property was well kept. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking the national park for days in the rain and even got to sit by the campfire when the rain held off one day. The location is perfect to go hiking, horse back riding, into town for nice dinners, cooters down the road with the museum and gift shop, Luray caverns to see the caves, and a country store with home made ice cream minutes away. It was the perfect balance to go out and explore then be able to come back and relax at such an awesome place. The host was communicative and you can tell they really take care of this place. We are so happy we got to stay here!

This place is great! Update your pictures, they do it it justice!! Super clean, excellent kitchen, well-stocked with needed supplies. Only issue was we kept missing the driveway because we arrived after dark -- maybe a reflector? The numbers on mailbox can only be seen from one side

We truly enjoyed our stay overall. The cabin is beautiful, and it's obvious the owner has put a great deal of thought and care into the decor. The setting is peaceful, and there are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area. We made new memories, saw some things that brought back old ones, and were able to truly relax.The only downside, and unfortunately it was a significant one for us, was the water. We understood the home uses well water, but we weren't prepared for the very strong sulfur smell and dark yellow discoloration. The odor was so overwhelming that we couldn't enjoy the jetted tub. We used bottled water for brushing our teeth and making coffee, kept our showers extremely short because of the smell, and we chose not to wash our hair during our stay. I had also planned to use the washer and dryer, but decided against it because I wasn't comfortable washing our clothes in the water.I understand that well water is common in rural areas, and this wasn't something we expected to be completely different. However, if this is typical for the property, it would be helpful to mention it in the listing or consider providing bottled drinking water for guests. That small gesture would make a big difference and help guests prepare.Overall, we had a wonderful time. The home itself was LOVELY, the location was beautiful, and we left with great memories. This is a special place, and with better communication about the water, it would be an easy five-star stay for us.

Thank you for a very nice review! I will add a note for potential renters - well water is different than treated city water for sure. Bringing bottled drinking water is a really good idea. We are in a rural area with well water that does have sulphur and iron. Water is treated however, sometimes it’s a slight smell other times could be stronger when we get a lot of rain. This area was well known for its sulphur springs years ago… the white man traveled far to soak in the springs always said it was good for their joints. I had a lady down at camp ( another place I have) she came from Mongolia and she specially asked if any of my water hydrants provided water untreated just so she could wash her hair in it! I agree, untreated well water with high sulphur content can produce a distinct odor although it isn’t harmful at all. I’m really glad you all enjoyed your stay! Annette

It was peaceful and a great time for us to reconnect. The cabin was clean and perfect for our reunion with my husband's twin brother and his wife. We didn't end up using the hot tub as it got really cold (in the 30's with high winds!!) but we stayed warm and cozy in the cabin and enjoyed watching movies and playing games. The only issue we had was the first night we were there, the fire alarm in our bedroom, started chirping around 4:30am indicating a low battery. Annette was very responsive to this issue and a new battery was delivered that morning.

The pictures on vrbo do not do this home justice! It had plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teen boys. The home was beautifully decorated and very clean and so was the hot tub. The few problems were that there is no seasonings or condiments, all the knives were dull, the master bed is not the most comfortable but manageable, the water pressure isnt the best, we never got the indoor jacuzzi to work even with the directions, and the water smelled like rotten eggs. We figured it was from the sulfur in the mountains so we never reached out to the owner. The longer you use the water the less it smells. There is a public swimming hole right down the road! My husband didnt discover it until the last night we were there! This really sucked because it was 100 the whole time we were there. The locals said it gets busy on the weekends. Dont be like us and miss the opportunity to swim and hang out with the locals. It was a drive to get to Shenandoah national park but I think thats just how the area is, if u want to get to an area to hike you're looking to drive 30 to 45 min. Luray isnt far tho and you are close to fast food and Walmart. I highly recommend The Speakeasy for a nicer sit down restaurant. We ate there 2 nights in a row because it was so good. We would like to come back in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. For the price you honestly cant do any better than this cute cozy little cabin.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend staying at this Luray cabin! The location is perfect—peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet just a short drive to local attractions like Shenandoah National Park and the Luray Caverns. The cabin itself was incredibly clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway.To top it all off, we accidentally left one of our bags behind when we checked out. Annette was incredibly kind, understanding, and went above and beyond to help us get our belongings back safely. Excellent customer service and hospitality. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great stay in the Luray area

I’m really excited to share my place with others… I used to live at this property many years ago although my properties have been in my family at one time or another —- gotten sold to others—— I’ve bought them back and I take great pride in renovating, designing, decorating and creating nice places for others to visit, the “OAK” is really special to me! I’m happy to share with you!
