About Dina Castillo

My name is Dina and my husband is Jeff . We are both snowboarders and love to downhill mountain bike. We dreamed for years about owning a condo in Vail, and in 2012 we made it happen. We couldn't be happier! Vail is the best place on earth and it keeps getting better. As the locals say 'you come for winter, but you stay for the summer'. Year round there is something amazing going on.

Dina Castillo purchased this condo in 2012

Why Dina Castillo chose Vail

We looked at over 22 condos before choosing this unit in Lions Main II. We wanted to be as close as we could to Vail Village, without paying Vail Village prices. We think we found it! We took our first Vail free bus ride from the unit in November of 2012. It only took 7 minutes to Vail Village. In the summer you can walk to Lionshead Village via the pedestrian bridge in 15. So convenient! The complex is small and has a great family feel. The HOA association is wonderful and they really care about our property.

Perfect place for a ski trip!

  • 5 of 5

This condo is cozy, clean, and very comfortable. We stayed for a ski trip and this condo made the trip so relaxing and great. The shuttle to Vail Village is literally in front of the condo. It's very easy to take your skis on the shuttle and ride 10 minutes to the Vail Transportation Center. From there it's a 10-12 minute walk to the main lift - Gondola One. If you plan on skiing multiple days, leaving your skis in storage right near Gondola One is a great option. The condo has 2 TVs with a full cable package, a great gas fireplace, comfortable living room and kitchen, and a king size bed in the bedroom. The wifi worked great as well. The place is stocked with plenty of toiletries and amenities and the kitchen has a lot of spices and other supplies left by others who have stayed. A couple grocery stores are just 5 minutes away by car. It's the perfect spot to relax after skiing or snowshoeing or exploring the Vail area. The parking spot is tight, but we had a full size SUV and it fit fine. I highly recommend this rental and we absolutely plan on coming back! It's the best spot to explore Vail!

Overall impression was good

Nice and tidy with great views !!! Very comfortable bed. However the fridge door and spare cupboards were absolutely full of condiments ( we didn’t know how long they’d been there or how clean they were from previous guests). Suzy, New Zealand

Owner's Response: Hi Suzy: My first 3 star review! and it was due to condiments in the refrigerator. I thought it very strange that you focused on this and texted AND emailed me about it. I immediately called Sayra our cleaning lady and she reported that it was not excessive and looked normal to her. She only throws away condiments with expired dates. Per my instruction packet, I ask guests to throw away all perishables. Most condiments have a long shelf life and why be wasteful. Most of our guests appreciate finding basic condiments stocked at the condo like ketchup, mustard, ranch, tabasco, etc. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the views!

Cozy condo!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was well stocked and very comfortable. The location right across from the bus stop was great! We only used the car to go to the grocery store and going over to Beaver Creek one day. The views of the mountain were beautiful!

Great place and very convenient to the slopes!

  • 4 of 5

The owner was very flexible and took our last minute booking! The place was as in the pictures - nicely decorated and CLEAN. I didn't give it 5 stars only because you could hear the neighbors - just a downside of apartment/condo living. All in all GREAT place!

Cozy and very nice

  • 5 of 5

Dina has wonderful cleaning help. The place was immaculate with excellent quality linens. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the fireplace. Kitchen is adequately equipped. There is no table. The eating area is two stools at the counter. The apartment is on the lowest level and the tenant above was a bit noisy, but not bad. There are many dogs in the building, but they were relatively quiet. We slept well -- the mattress is great! Sofa is comfortable and TV was easy to operate.

As noted in other reviews, parking is tight, but we had no difficulty with our Subaru. I was glad I did not have a larger car. The parking lot was not shoveled during the time we were there, and there was no shovel available to do our space. The driveway was steep, but heated, so no problems there. Vail bus is down the driveway on the front side of the condo. Our door is in the back. A short hike and easy for the able-bodied.

Dina needed reminding for a few things -- like the door code to get in, and the apartment instructions could use some updating. I think she has many rental units. But she got back to us right away when we initiated the contact. She was very helpful and easy to work with.

We would definitely return!
