Close to Heaven Golden Vista

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found Golden Vista was as nice for the second visit as the first. We returned for leaf season after enjoying those magnificent views in August. The owners went above and beyond to provide amenities for their guests. House was in excellent shape and the management company was responsive and courteous when contacted.

Golden Vista Review

This cabin is excellent. We had our family vacation at Golden Vista and it was the best vacation ever according to my wife and children. The cabin was much better than I expected, I guess pictures don’t do it justice. The view is spectacular. The road to it requires some skillful driving but that is to be expected when the cabin is at 4000 feet. On a scale of 1 to 10 this was a 10 for us.

Amazing Stay

Comfortable, peaceful, relaxing with a view to die for. New master bath was spa-like. A very enjoyable stay.

Golden Vista

Beautiful direct mountain views. Home has all the amenities needed. Should have been cleaner- there were dog hairs throughout, carpet under kitchen table dirty & should be replaced along with outdoor patio carpet. Outdoor lower level patio was not usable which was contrary to website photo. Overall I would recommend the property.

A beautiful home with a gorgeous view

Upon arrival, we took some time to center ourselves after the rather intense drive up the mountain. After a few days, we were like old pros but it certainly took some getting used to for us city dwellers. This is not a drive you want to make multiple times a day so be sure to plan out your adventures accordingly to minimize going up and down the mountain. Initial reaction though once we arrived at the house was WOOOOWWW! The view was like no where we’ve ever stayed. The house is situated in a way that, almost wherever you are inside, you’re getting a killer view out the window. The back porch was my happy place morning, noon and night every single day. The kitchen was an absolute delight to cook in, fully equipped and very well thought out. The beds were comfy and the theater room was a favorite for my family and our nightly gathering spot for movie time. All in all, we were sad to leave but wouldn’t hesitate to rent Golden Vista again!

Golden Vista

The views are fantastic. King bed was very comfortable. House had everything needed. TV system was difficult to navigate for us as seniors and front door lock was also a struggle to get locked.

Our best rental EVER!

There were just two of us and our small dog but the house could comfortably accommodate 4. Three full bathrooms and two BRs. What an incredible view. Catch the sunrise on the porch or just open the main level bedroom curtains in the morning. The house was so clean and the owners are so kind to share this house with others. We enjoyed the espresso and coffees they provide for guests. It does take about 15 minutes to get up the mountain but the road is good and the view is worth it. Friends with a RWD van came up with only minor issue at the top where there's a sharp turn on gravel. You can park two cars. The neighborhood is fantastic. You can walk the roads with your pets. Location is great for Waynesville shopping or visits to Maggie Valley. Sid at Carolina Vacations really took care of us well and always had time to answer any questions we had. We stayed 9 nights and would have extended if available. We already have our next visit to Golden Vista booked and can't wait to go back!

Gorgeous home, amazing amenities and beautiful mountain view

We stayed at this property for a week, and it was breathtaking every day. We stayed in the summer months, when the flowers on the mountain were in bloom and the view from the balcony was green and serene. The home was spacious, clean, and updated with luxurious amenities, including state of the art laundry and kitchen appliances. The upstairs was a great movie space (which we used daily) and the downstairs was a spacious living room. The second bedroom in the home was located in a furnished basement that was just as beautifully kept as the rest of the space. For future travelers, the drive to the house wasn’t for the faint of heart and included very steep roads and switchbacks that made us grateful we had just changed our tires. Make sure your car can support steep and frequent climbs on gravel and roads. Also, the bugs didn’t bother us, but there were MANY of them up that high in the mountain that were surprisingly huge and loved to get stuck in the house. We’ll be staying again!

Killer View!

Wonderful house with a fantastic view! Sat on the porch and soaked it in for hours. House is well equipped, very clean, and was exactly what we were looking for. The road up is steep and winding, but not really a problem; just don't plan to run back and forth to town several times a day.

Great Family with older teen Getaway

This home turned out to be the best place for my family. My teens are 18 and 16 so one slept on air mattress in loft other took downstairs bedroom. The teens locked the media room leaving the main level to my husband and I to enjoy. I would say staying at this home felt more like staying at a friends cabin than any other rental we have done before. We enjoyed it very much. The view was so worth the location.

The house is very well appointed, clean, and super comfortable. The beds are great and the whole place very tastefully decorated. It has everything you need. The best part, however, is the views from the porch - breathtaking! Well worth the semi scary drive up the mountain. We will be back.

Beauty in the Smokey Mountains

We all enjoyed Golden Vista! It was a great house on the top of the mountain! Our stay was topped off by waking up Monday morning to a beautiful snowy mountains top. It was the highlight of the trip for my son who is 8. It was his first time experiencing snow. What a way for him to experience it. We would definitely recommend Golden Vista. Can’t wait to visit again!

Views and peaceful relaxation

Very comfortable and fitted with high end furnishings, art work and appliances. We enjoyed just relaxing, watching Netflix in the theater room and reading. Which brings me to a suggestion - for us avid readers it would be nice to have a couple of "reading spots" with reading lamps. I thought the upstairs office would be a nice place for a reading chair as it has so much natural light (and views!!)
