About Jeanne Scull & Gary

”A Little Peace of Heaven” retreat was founded in 2010 by Thomas and Jeanne Scull. Yhey saw how many people could benefit by having a place in nature where they could come away from the many distractions of daily life and get their minds refocused on the things in life that truly matter. The retreat is surrounded on all sides by forestry and wilderness. It is off the grid with power being provided through solar and a generator.

The retreat is managed by the owners Thomas and Jeanne Scull and their son, Gary and his wife, Cindy.

Jeanne Scull & Gary purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Jeanne Scull & Gary chose Glacier Country

The cabins and lodge sit on the top of a ridge overlooking the Flathead River in the distance, which is a designated 'Wild & Scenic River'. It overlooks the beautiful valley below. The property looks out to the East at Glacier National Park Mountains and up to 100 miles of mountain range. There seems to be a magic potent in the atmosphere that erases all tension. The view invites you to just sit and drink it all in. Deer can daily be seen roaming the grounds. Moose frequent the place for fascinating viewing. On some occasions grizzly and black bears pass through. A mountain lion (cougar) has also been sighted.

What makes this cabin unique

In nearby Glacier National Park is the “Going-To-The-Sun” road that is an experience that brings people from all parts of the world. The view is spectacular. You may drive or relax in the free shuttle van up to Logan Pass or completely through the park. Mountain goats and big horn sheep are often seen on this

excursion. In the park are restaurants, gift shops, hiking trails, picnic areas, lakes, etc. Glacier Park International Airport is just 40 miles away. And the cabins are 3 miles from the Polebridge Mercantile, listed in the register of National Historic Places. It is noted for its luscious pastries, breads, and mouth watering sandwiches. Also you will find a few grocery items and souvenirs. Next door to the Mercantile is the Northern Lights Café that will delight your fancy for fine dinners. The beautiful Bowman and Kintla Lakes are assessable from the Northwest entrance just 4 miles away. Canoeing and kayaking are popular sports on the lakes and the Flathead River nearby. You will find hiking trails in the park and on the property. Horseshoes and volleyball games are located on the premises and a cozy fire pit and picnic area await you.

Beautiful, peaceful, and remote.

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Nice, new cabins were clean and comfortable for our family of 6. The host family was hospitable, friendly, and accommodating. The quiet, remote location was refreshing after a day in the park. The kids enjoyed the yard games and the fire pit, and we enjoyed beautiful view from the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Cabins are in great shape - lots of space for kids to run around or for adults to stretch out and relax.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We rented one of the cabins for five nights and had six people stay in it. The cabin was perfect. It was a decent size for all of us and the porch was wonderful. We spent a lot of time in Glacier, but could relax and cook some meals at the cabin. Finding this location allowed us to have great accommodations and not have to camp on this trip. We didn't have to bring as much stuff since we had a cabin supplied with cookware, appliances, towels, beds and bedding. I would highly recommend it, and if we every go back we will stay here again! The Sculls are great hosts too!

Beautiful and peaceful place!

  • 5 of 5

This was the best place we stayed while in Montana. We wished we could have stayed longer! The owners are very welcoming and accommodating. The main house is gorgeous. Although we slept in one of the beautiful, new cabins we loved sitting on the HUGE porch at the main house overlooking the mountains. The cabins are super clean and cozy. Polebridge is now probably one of my top 2 favorite places EVER!

Beautiful location and place.

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 2 college-aged sons, and I stayed here July 31-August 1. The cabins were booked, so we were able to stay in the 2 upstairs bedrooms in the main house. These were perfect for our use. One room had a queen bed, mini-fridge, and microwave. The other room had 2 full and 1 twin size beds. We had exclusive use of the large bathroom that was between our bedrooms. Additionally, there was a reclining love seat in the open hallway outside of our rooms. Ms. Jeanne gave us permission to use her kitchen when needed (we cooked once, and used the freezer to "make ice" in our water bottles for use in our picnic cooler). The main log house was beautiful and so clean. We had the full use of the great room, dining room, and large front porch. We chose to eat our meals on the front porch because of the awesome view. But, we felt like we were renting a full house with all of the available room provided to us. Ms. Jeanne was so kind (Mr. Tom was out of town); she seemed genuinely interested in our happiness while staying there, and was helpful in recommending great hikes and places to site-see. Keep in mind that no tv, internet or cell service is available (the info states that internet is available in the main house, but it was not when we visited); so, plan accordingly! Additionally, there is only 1 small (and expensive) store nearby; we bought food in Kalispel before our arrival. We highly recommend this "Peace of Heaven"!
