The entire house was wonderfully cared for the amenities wereVery enjoyable. The bikes , with tire pumps, The Golf cart , beach chairs, towels, outdoor shower, stocked kitchen, outdoor seating. Everything provided was helpful.The website was spot on accurate and it was just a joy being right on the beach.

Great experience!

My wife and I loved our stay at the Doc House. It was great that the house was so close to the marina, which made it convenient to get to, and also, you didn't feel like you were so far away from everything. The house is right on the bay side of the islan,d but if you want to see the ocean side, it's just a short walk or cart ride. The house gets lots of light, which is great - though admittedly I do wish the master bedroom had blackout curtains as the room gets very bright early in the AM, which made it difficult to sleep in - not a problem though as we felt well rested. Overall, I would book again - the staff are great and accommodating.

Great location and all amenities were available as described. Also, the communication with our hosts was very timely and responsive. We really only had 2 issues during our stay:1. There is a persistent "wet dog" smell in the front bedroom. 2. The floors had not been sufficiently cleaned. Other than that we loved our vacation time and our stay on Bald Head Island.

Wonderful setting and view of the ocean while having coffee and dinner. Very private surroundings and actually you could walk down the beach to the ferry, if light luggage. Will come back to Bald Head!

Sibling Trip 2025

Perfect place for a few days of catching up. Each sibling had their own room. The upstairs was a great place to play cards, listen to music, watch the Pacers and sit out on the porch to watch the activity on Cape Fear River and sunsets. The golf cart was fully charged and a great way to explore the island. We also rented bikes and explored the island one day. Beach access was perfect. We were able to walk the beach, sit at the beach to watch sunsets and fish off the beach. We didn’t buy a guest membership to the club, so restaurant options were limited. Jules, Jailhouse Provisions & Copper’s Pizza were our go-to’s.

Oceanfront Hideaway

Nice property, we really enjoyed our stay. We had a great time watching sunsets from the upper deck, and having private access to the beach was a plus. We had a blast and can’t wait to go back!

Great location near the marina with access to all the spots on BHI. House was set up well for dining and hanging out upstairs then sleeping downstairs.

Great view

The view of the sunsets and the ships plying the Cape Fear River was wonderful. The kitchen is a bit small and oddly laid out. The stairs were a bit challenging for those of us, all in our 80s. The warnings and instructions posted on every wall were excessive - it certainly didn't contribute to a feeling of welcome when warned of penalties if we did or did not do something. We attributed the signs to some previous guests who had misused the house, but were ALL those signs really necessary? We've stayed in dozens of other houses on Bald Head Island and never experienced so much scolding! A six-passenger golf cart was difficult to maneuver when all 6 were on board. Two golf carts would be much better and allow for more flexibility.

Beautiful location

Such a cute house with a lovely deck and upstairs great room and amazing location right off the dunes. The pictures really don't do justice.

Excellent West Beach Stay!

I have been coming to baldhead Island for my entire life and have rented many properties on the island. This is one of my favorite! This house has fantastic views of the Cape river with it's wonderful boat traffic and over the water sunset. The house is excellent with a reverse floorplan and a very bright top floor living space. There is also an east facing Porch for morning coffee in the sunlight. Highly recommended location very close to the Ferry. ITrip did an excellent job with property management!! 5 Stars

What a view!

The upstairs view of the ocean from the living room, dining room and kitchen was just incredible. Place was as advertised. Basically have your own private beach access. Rental company communicated great. Will definitely book this place again.

unexpected suprises

The trip to Bald Head proved to be wonderful and Docs house was the perfect place to stay. I appreciate all their attention to details...a well stocked kitchen and extra blankets and beach equipment to name a few. The sunset off the deck was spectacular and just being able to look out at the water everyday was magical. We hope to be able to go back to Docs again. Thank you

Great view

We have been to bald head many times. Really nice place with exceptional views of the water and the ships. Walk out the back to a very quiet beach near western end of South beach.

BEST view around !!!

Doc's was wonderful, couldn't beat the view !! Loved walking right out to the Ocean. Furniture a little dated but didn't bother us. Temp was in the 90's the week we were there so the air con had a little trouble keeping us. However, ITrip was wonderful coming out and trying to fix issue. We'll be Back for certain !!

We loved the location of the Doc House and the views are beautiful. ITrip was very responsive throughout the entire stay and appreciate their attention to detail in preparation for our visit along with departure. BHI is one of our favorite places and look forward to coming back next year.

Nice house in great location

We came to Bald Head for a family vacation and had a wonderful time. Doc House is fine for a small family or 3 couples. We loved that it has private beach access and is dog friendly. We had an issue with the golf cart the first night but the people at iTrip resolved it quickly. We would recommend iTrip and Doc House for your trip to Bald Head.

Great house!

My family of 4 (2 teens) stayed at Doc House for a week and really loved the house & location. It is a bit dated but overall the house is just fantastic, roomy, comfortable and has LOTS of windows and light pouring in everywhere. The back & front yards are definitely overgrown and does seem to hinder the view from the back deck somewhat as well as the walkway to the beach, however, the location of the house has a spectacular view regardless. We enjoyed amazing sunsets / sunrises, the ferry boat, large barges, smaller boats and yachts going past the house every day! It was wonderful!! The beach is not as wide on the West side, but since it’s not the ocean side of the island, it’s alot calmer for swimming. The golf cart was very handy to get where we needed to go, however, it does not hold a charge for long at all, so we ended up renting a cart one day (from Cary Cart) to tour the island without fear of being stranded. That worked out really well, just annoyed with having the added expense when the listing included a golf cart. The management company, (Itrip) are amazingly responsive and accommodating, but when we complained about the cart, they just stated “it’s slower, older and in working condition as we just had it serviced and checked out”. It barely made it to the Maritime Market & back …or up a hill. The owner may want to consider upgrading the cart (or battery?) for future renters. A lot of lightbulbs were out, need replaced. Within walking distance to ALOT!!

Fun Time at the Doc House

March is a refreshing time to spend at BHI. The island is quiet & there are many opportunities to enjoy nature during this cooler time. This was our first time staying g at The Doc House & it didn’t disappoint. It has little extras that add to the experience- binoculars for bird watching, beach towels, out door shower/dog washing station, boardwalk to the beach, & SPECTACULAR views of Old Baldy & the ocean. We enjoyed watching the sunrise & sunset from the balcony!

Nice view, great location.

Have stayed at 11 different homes in BHI over the last 15 years. This home had the best view out of all of them. The home is located on the beach at the causeway, conveniently located to restaurants, shops and the market. The house was very clean and comfortable. Of the homes we’ve stayed in this home was probably one of the oldest and was a little dated. I would recommend for future guests the offering of soaps, shampoos etc. for bathrooms , foils, wraps etc and storage containers for the kitchen. The addition of these items would only make a nice home nicer. This home has lots of memories and if the walls could talk I would love to hear the stories. We made great memories in our short stay. I would still highly recommend this home and give it a full 5 stars and would certainly stay here again.

Great views! Super wonderful accommodations

We stayed here for a week and it was absolutely lovely. The patio was great to enjoy the sunsets and the location is perfect! We’ve been coming to BHI for 3 years now and my first time renting with itrips. I’ll definitely be back and hoping to check out more of their properties. The home was very nice, well adorned and was perfect for our larger group stay.

Good location, but old and dirty

Property is much more run down than the pictures and needs a very deep cleaning. Golf cart ran down battery just going to market. Good location next to harbor.
