About Montie Taylor
I am a native Californian. I am a semi retired motion picture lighting technician. I now reside part of the time in Manhatttan Beach and the other part of the time in my home in Park City Utah.
Montie Taylor purchased this Townhome in 1995
Why Montie Taylor chose Manhattan Beach
When I was much younger I used to drive to Manhattan Beach with my bike on the back of my car. I would park and ride my bike all day around the beach. One day I said ' I'm going to live here so I don't have to drive'. Now I do.
What makes this Townhome unique
Walking distance to the beach, shopping, and restaurants.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Great property for a family of 5 for a beach vacation, close to beach and restaurants. Stocked with boogie boards and bikes. Kitchen also well stocked with condiments. Montie was very responsive to all of our needs.
Great stay in Manhattan Beach!
Monte's house was perfect for our needs. There was plenty of space for everyone (we had 9 people for 2 of the 12 nights we were there), and if extra beds our needed, his 3 blow up mattresses are very comfortable! Great proximity to the beach, easily walkable, and Montie has all of the things you need (chairs, umbrellas, even a wagon) right there in the garage. He was readily available upon check in, and was easily accessible any time we had any questions. We definitely hope to stay at Montie's Beach house again! Thank you for everything, Montie...it was a great stay!
Everything was great, and we had a great time. It was especially nice having access to the bikes, beach chairs etc.
I was very happy with Adam and his family. They will be welcomed back anytime.
Great location, gracious host and wonderful stay.
Montie had thought of everything, from a well-equipped kitchen to loads of towels to multiple oscillating fans to keep us comfortable. We used the beach chairs, the boogie boards and the bikes during our stay. We'll definitely be back!!
will come back for sure
thanks for everything
Overall a pleasant place
UPSIDES: The home was clean and well-equipped. The beds/bedding were very comfortable. Although we did not cook, there were plenty of pots, etc to do so. TV was a 'smart tv'. which was nice. Parking for two cars was convenient. Noise level was very acceptable.
DOWNSIDES: Not particularly convenient to 'downtown', although there were enough places to eat within walking distance. Needed to bicycle to downtown.
The home was not particularly 'kid friendly' outside. On a narrow, well-traveled side street, there was no place for young children to play. There is no back yard, and no yard in front. Very tight housing on either side, and in back. Thus, no real privacy on the exterior of the home. We'd recommend for adults, but not particularly for kids. Luckily one of our children, has a home within walking to distance to downtown and the beach, although it is too small for the entire group. We spent most of our time there. We stay again, without kids!
Three out of 5 stars?? A two star reduction for things that are beyond my control?? I think this guest liked my house but not Manhattan Beach. Most of my guests believe the short 15 block bike ride along the beach (bikes provided by me) or 20 minute stroll to downtown is an enjoyable and positive experience. I'm sorry and surprised these guests didn't know about the housing density in what's called the sand section of Manhattan Beach. All the homes are on narrow streets with 8 ft. setbacks. That's just the way it is. You might as well complain that there's too much sand in the Sand Section It's a rare property that has any front, back or side yard. If a yard is what one needs, the Manhattan Beach tree section is only another mile or two farther from the water than my house (not walking distance). As for being kid friendly, those of us that raised our kids a 4 minute stroll from the sand called the beach and the water our playground. We actually have a K thru 6th school just down the street for the many children in the area. I guess it's all about what one is used to. If I visited Scottsdale, where my guests were from, I'd have to learn to tolerate the heat and sandstorms. I liked this guest but allowed the review window to expire so didn't rate. I would have given an all thumbs up however.
This is a beach lovers dream with miles of sand both north and south. To the south are the beach communities of Hermosa, Redondo, Palos Verdes and on to Long Beach. To the north is Marina Del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades and then Malibu. The sand and bike path is only a tenth of a mile from the front door of this home. Downtown Manhattan Beach is only a 15 minute stroll. There are a number of local restaurants only minutes away. A car is not a necessity but might be helpful for those activities out of the area.
