The perfect relaxing place to stay!

This was a perfect place to stay! Very close to downtown Egg Harbor, and felt very serene in the woods. Had everything we needed lots of chairs, blankets, towels, kitchen was full of dishes and utensils. Will absolutely be back!

Well, we’re looking for a refund at this point!!! When we arrived to the house, the electricity was turned off due to nonpayment by the owner. They owed over 600 on the electric bill. We lost all of our food in the refrigerator due to the electric off! We were on the phone with the property manager for an hour and a half trying to figure out how to get the electric turned back on because they didn’t have the money 3 hours later the property manager made a payment arrangement with the electric company and it was turned back on by that time. Our food was ruined! The house was filthy. Nobody had dusted or cleaned. The bathtub in the master bathroom was disgustingly filthy I had to clean it myself and then I didn’t take a bath, cause I was afraid too. I broke my nail on my second toe because the wood floors were all coming apart, and I actually fell due to tripping on the wood floor boards that were warped and coming apart. The paint job was like a three year-old painted the house. The area was nice, but the house is falling apart! The wood deck you have to wear shoes or you’ll get splinters. It’s completely falling apart! My son got a sliver in his foot just walking on it until we realize we need to wear shoes out there! We were refunded one night from Verbo because of the Electric situation but now we want a full refund I got hurt my son got hurt. This property should not be rented out to another person until everything is fixed or the house is condemned!!! please refund us!!!

A lot of the things around the place were held together by tape to keep them from falling. You could tell they are trying to fix things themselves. Getting into contact with the host was very difficult. We had a hard time with the WiFi and I never got that figured out.

Host sent me a text 4 hours before check in first asking for a pushed back check in then when I said No as he did not offer compensation (later check out, waive a portion of the fees), he said essentially, too bad cleaning won’t be done, you can check in at 5 when it was planned for 4.When I threatened to inform VRBO he agreed we could check in on time.

This house was in a great location, just a couple minutes from downtown Egg Harbor. The wooded location is very peaceful and quiet. It wasn’t the fanciest place, but everything worked, and it met our needs for the week. Communication with the owner was timely.

This property needs a lot of maintenance. The deck needs to be completely redone, the yard needs to have a total clean up job weeds and trees so overgrown. The inside of the house the blinds were attached to the windows with duct tape same with the master shower towel holder. The upstairs bedroom door would not close. The door seemed like it was too large. The paint job in the home looked like a 5 year old painted the rooms along with missing trim. Really did not stay in the house when we were there only stayed to sleep. Property manager was terrible to get in touch with before our stay just to answer questions about what type of coffee maker they had so I could bring my coffee. Finally got an email from the property manager a day before we were to arrive.

Advertised as a 5 star accommodation! Hah! More like 2! Pictures of the rental looked good but the real thing was a nightmare! Dusty, dirty, uncomfortable and the worst rental I have EVER stay in!!! Location was the best thing going for this place! Could be a great place if properly cared for, has lots of possibilities. I don’t believe the managing person lives in the state! Mu first bad experience with VRBO!

Serene environment!

Easy to find and communicate. So peaceful and wildlife (deer) in driveway in mornings. Lovely area. Looking forward to seeing what is done with continued property improvements. Would stay again- easy and good price point for the area.

My family of four plus our dog stayed four nights. in July 2025. I was a little hesitant given some of the previous reviews, but the price was great for a place that allows dogs and in a good location, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did! The house is not Instagram ready, so if you're looking for a professionally decorated, magazine-ready house, look elsewhere, but be prepared to pay twice as much. This house gives the vibe of the lake house that your aunt and uncle have that they've furnished with all of their extra furniture, dishes, bedding, etc., and where they've done all of the upgrades themselves. It seems like most things in the house have been fairly recently updated (floors, fixtures, counters, appliances), but you get the impression that none of the updates were done by a professional contractor. The issues are all cosmetic, though, and all of the safety concerns mentioned in previous reviews have been taken care of, and everything was clean. We were perfectly comfortable and had a great time. A few small notes: there was no shower/bath soap, no Kleenex, and there were no extra trash bags - but, to be fair, the listing didn't promise them (we just assumed they were basic provisions for all rental places). So, if you rent this place, it might be worth it to pack these things. Overall, the location was very peaceful, the house was comfortable, we felt very safe, and we so much appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Relaxing stay

We stayed here in late May; 4 adults and our dog. Extra fee for dog. This was a relaxing stay close to things we wanted to do in Door County. Located on a very quiet road. Place was clean and well equipped with plenty of towels , and dishes . We like to cook and bake, and needed mixing bowls , measuring spoons and measuring cups that we couldn’t find . Place could sleep 8 with a king bed in master bedroom, 2 double beds in upper bedroom and another double in the loft. 2 1/2 bathrooms and a washer/dryer. The only suggestion we have is that the deck steps be repaired and the lawn cut. There were a lot of little things that were strange but not too bothersome , like the bathroom doors to the bedrooms wouldn’t completely shut. All appliances were in working order, and we enjoyed sitting by the backyard fire pit as well as sitting on the large porch. We would definitely stay here again.

Property needs a lot of TLC

Adequate, but a lot of rough edges. Garbage around the outside was reported but owner never replied. Nail heads poking out of kitchen floor, sliding door sticky and needs maintenance. Very overpriced for the quality.

Don’t Look Too Closely

While the location is great, the rental itself leaves a lot to be desired. The actual interior of the rental does not match the listing photos. Paint, furniture, decor…very different in person. The rental does its job, AC works, toilets flush - but if you care about the details, look elsewhere. The paint job in the master bathroom and lower level bathroom is haphazard. Trim in the bathroom was falling off. A window covering was held up with duct tape. The kitchen floor feels squishy; there is obvious water damage to near the kitchen sink floor. There are no bedside lamps in the master bedroom. The light switches all around the living room are confusing and many don’t work. Even better, while I understand appliances break, prior to arriving about 30 minutes from the rental I got a notification that the fridge was being replaced because the prior one broke down. The new unit was not brand new, and it never got cold for us. The cold food we brought had to be tossed as it spoiled. We did contact the property owner but so much back and forth, and a maintenance person never showed. I was refunded a little bit for lack of the appliance. Given what the photos showed and what we arrived to…we were disappointed. At least keep the property listing photos to date.

Fantastic Find

Hd a group of 5 friends stay here for a long weekend. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space for eating, playing games together, and relaxing by the campfire. Beautiful tucked away spot in the woods also gave us some privacy. We loved this listing and highly would recommend!!

Secluded and private but not very well- maintained. The deck is in pretty bad shape and needs new gates. The inside was very functional and pretty clean. Good water pressure. Bottled water provided. Nice couches.
