This property was far more funky than charming. The deferred maintenance was ridiculous - outside doors that didn't lock and the main overhead dining light/fan not working. No central air. A rusted out caulked up tub. Dirty stove top burners. Dank musty downstairs. Dangerous step to bathroom. Only shower up shaky stairs. Outrageously priced for what it was. Worse, because so much was broken, the host had reason to be inside checking on things, including our things. He even commented on our suitcase placement! Wanted to know where we were sleeping. Creepy!

The location was perfect! We were close to a grocery store, walking distance to restaurants, shops and the marina. We were a short drive to both the beach and several golf courses. We also were able to explore some of the other Door County towns. We cooked some delicious Wisconsin brats on the gas grill provided. Our challenge in July 2026 was that it was a very hot week and there is only one window air conditioner upstairs along with several fans. Other than that, we had a wonderful time with our daughter and her family.Rich and Emily were great hosts!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The location was convenient, the property was comfortable, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming.The hosts are quite hands-on and attentive to the property. Communication before and during our stay was more frequent than we are accustomed to, and there was an unannounced visit during our stay. We would have preferred a little more privacy and advance notice before a visit.There was also some confusion regarding the additional guest fee. The listing states 35 per additional person per night, but we were asked to leave 65 cash for my husband's one-night stay. It would have been preferable to have the amount and payment method clearly established through VRBO.Overall, we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the hosts' hospitality. Guests who prefer a more hands-off hosting style may want to clarify expectations regarding communication, visits, and additional guest fees before booking.

The layout was interesting, inside access to upper floor was a spiral staircase, but did lend itself to visiting and there was ample room for dining as well. It was very clean and hosts were easy to communicate with and most hospitable.
