Host was very responsive with my questions. House was clean and very spacious. Definitely room for multiple families. We rented a boat and kept it at the dock all week. Had a good time fishing off the dock. It is very quiet and private area. Pretty much everything provided except linens.We will definitely stay again.

This property is located in such a peaceful and quiet part of SML. The no wake zone was awesome. The house has great space, especially for kids and has a great cozy feel. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need. We had a few minor issues, but communication with the owners was wonderful. My boys had some great fishing at this location and the dock was great. It was easy to pull our rental boat into each day. Our dog enjoyed the house, dock and chasing the neighborhood geese! The hill down to the lake is definitely very steep, but it was great aerobic exercise daily. We had a great week!

Hidden Beauty

We have been vacationing at SML for over 20 years. I have driven into the Wildlife Refuge once, because I was always interested in it when we passed by. We originally booked the house through different owners, and the house wasn’t advertised as being located in the Refuge. What an excellent added bonus it was to find out that the house was in the Refuge! We saw deer, blue herrons, geese (a little messy but fun to watch the littles), rabbits, and a few other wildlife. The only downside of our stay was it was a bit hard for some of the older folks to get up and down the hill to the dock. The new owners were wonderful at communicating though, and said that is on their list to address. Mitchell’s Point is within a 10 min drive, which made renting a boat and getting off/on so easy for the ones who couldn’t manage. Also, we were there for a family reunion at the State Park, it was very close and made it so convenient.

This property was a great location for siblings weekend. We celebrated my husbands birthday with his brother and his family and my sister and his family. It was a great location for lake access in a cove that was quiet and private. The dock was epic, with a spot to lay out in the sun and sit at a table and watch the kids use the slide with a lower dock to load the boat or the kayak. The house had plenty of sleeping space, that was super convenient for all of the kids to have space. There were lots of toys for them and adult games; pool table, darts and foosball. We used the kayak and paddles, had smores by the firepit and cooked all our meals in the kitchen or out on the grill. Every bedroom had a private bathroom which was perfect for our three separate families to have their privacy and bathroom space. The only drawback is I missed the info in the listing that said to bring sheets and towels and had to have someone coming later bring them, so all worked out - but here's your reminder - bring sheets and towels! They only have comforters on the bed. Might also need towels for the kitchen depending on how much you use it. Communication with the host was prompt and easy. Wifi was good, TV logins for Netflix, etc. The kitchen was epically stocked with utensils, plates, cups, cooking items, pots, pans, everything you could think of! We had an epic three days and wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you for a wonderful weekend with our fam! 3
