About Pam Burnup, Property Manager
We built this home with the idea that we would live in it a year or two and then turn it into a nightly rental. Well, seven years later, we can say that we have loved every minute here and are now excited to share it. We were the general contractors for the property and you will notice the many extras and upgrades, from the hand-carved dogwood blossoms in the mantel above the fireplace, to our lovely premium lighting, to the rose bushes out front. This property is meant to be a vacation lodge and we are moving on to other ventures!
Pam Burnup, Property Manager purchased this Lodge in 2006
Why Pam Burnup, Property Manager chose Pigeon Forge
We lived in a home in Pigeon Forge for 12 years and were building rental chalets for sale here in Riversong and also on Ski Mountain in Gatlinburg. When our neighbor in Pigeon Forge made us an offer on our farm there, we decided to build a house here. We own four lots, about five acres, and at the end of the road as it is, we have great privacy and magnificent views.
What makes this Lodge unique
We call it the 'mountain movie' -- just sitting on one of our decks and watching the magnificent vista. In summer, all you see is trees and mountains, the soaring hawks and ravens; in winter, you see the river below, sparkling silver and gold, and another cabin or two in the distance. The Greenbrier entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park is eight minutes drive, and we love hiking, biking, and swimming there. Gatlinburg is but 15 minutes total, with all the great restaurants and fun things to do there. This location allows you to slip in and out the 'back' ways to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, avoiding seasonal traffic.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Beautiful and Breathtaking!
Such a beautiful place. You could see the mountains from the deck of the cabin. The cabin was so spacious. There was a game room and theatre to keep the kids busy and plenty of space for 14 people that was in our group. Great place for a family vacation.
We had a fantastic time. This property was amazing, with beautiful views of the mountainside and plenty of room for everyone in my extended family. Speaking as someone who’s stayed in lots of cabins, I really appreciate that the sheets were clean and fresh and that the A/C was up to par.
We had a small issue upon checkin (I do not even remember what it was) and Pam took care of it right away. If you’re looking for a big cabin for a large get-together, I can wholeheartedly recommend this one.
Our stay on the mountain
My family, along with three other families stayed at this cabin and the mother n law suite across the driveway. This place is beautiful and has a great view of the mountains. Overall, it was a great experience. The only issue when we arrived was a slight miscommunication about check in. They thought we were arriving the day after and had to adjust our entry code. But the owners handled it within five minutes and were very accommodating. There was only one real issue while were there. There were centipedes all over the bottom floor bathrooms and bedrooms. The other floors seemed to be fine, most likely due to not being ground floor. It’s not like it was spiders, so it was more of a nuisance more than anything else. I mention it because I feel it was genuinely something the owners were not aware of and hopefully can be prevented for the next guest, with some pest treatment. Other than this issue, everything else was wonderful and quite enjoyable.
Thank you very much for the review and comments. We work really hard to keep our property up so it is in tip-top shape for our guests. We do have quarterly pest control and are aware about 2 wks out of the year the millipeds come out of the woods. We have the pest guy out constantly during that time and I even put down diatomaceous earth down on the entire lower deck along the house to ward off the millipeds. I use that because it is natural and is not toxic to people. We even sprinkle it inside the door frames. I am sorry you encountered this issue but I assure you we are doing everything and then some to prevent it.
Please come see us again.
Beautiful Place and Scenery
We highly enjoyed our stay in this large cabin. It is very spacious, with room for everyone to gather or find a place for solace. Great decor, deck and views. Nicely stocked with all essentials (dishware, towels, spices, etc...) The property manager was excellent.
Thank you very much for your very nice review. We strive to have everything you could possibly need during your visit.
Please come again soon!
Everything we would have wanted!
First, it was an “adventure” just conquering the drive up!
Then, the spaciousness was excellent!
We had a wonderful time visiting the Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area. The house we stayed in was absolutely beautiful. It had everything to accommodate our large group. Having an extra refrigerator was really nice.
We had amazing views of the mountains looking out from the "floor to ceiling" windows. We enjoyed sitting out on the decks, cooking on the gas grill and especially soaking in the hot tub. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with our family. Sincerely, The Haley Family
We very much enjoyed having you and your family. Please consider coming for another visit asap.
Great Wedding and Special Event (Family Reunion, Anniversary/Birthday Celebration, Company Business Seminar with theater area for presentations) Destination!! Our property even has a separate Honeymoon Suite adjacent to the main house. Let our event planner help make your "special" day just what you have always dreamed of. She can help as little or as much as you like.
We also hosted our family reunion here in 2010 and our activity list for the week included: Dollywood, Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, hiking to Alum Cave, bicycling the 11-mile loop through Cades Cove (1 hour drive), whitewater rafting out of Hartford (45 minute drive; we booked through Nantahala Outdoor Center in Gatlinburg); swimming in the river at the Greenbrier, golf at Bent Creek, shopping at Tanger Five Oaks Outlet Mall, a day on a pontoon boat at Douglas Lake (35 minute drive to Gator Point marina, pontoons available for rent), dinner at either (or both) The Peddler and The Park Grill, lunch outside on the patio at The Best Italian, live music at Three Jimmies, an evening walk though downtown Gatlinburg, and other fun!! We only got most of that list done, because everyone wanted to stay home, have big barbecues, and play games and guitars of an evening. It was a blast.
Although we are closest to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Pigeon Forge is a short drive on the back roads and offers amazing fun for kids of all ages, a great choice of restaurants, movie theater, and tremendous shopping. Of course, it is home to the amazing Dollywood and Splash Country, the adjacent water park.
While Bent Creek Golf Resort is just 10 minutes from the house, there are other excellent courses in Sevier County, including the Gatlinburg Golf Course (located in Pigeon Forge!), and Eagle's Landing, in Sevierville.
