Overview

About the property

2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4

A small proud home since the 1870's on the Port Clyde waterfront near Raspberry Island looks out on lobster boats at anchor and traditional working waterfront activities. About a 5 minute stroll along winding Horse Point Road takes you to the quaint village general store, post office and ice cream store.

Purchased by Linda Bean as her own residence for several years, the modest home offers an outstanding deep water dock with seasonal landing float. Perfect for up to 40 foot boat, plus a secondary dock for kayak storage.

Furnishings are Stickley mission style in both living room and waterfront bedroom. All 5 rooms and bath upstairs have a view of the sea except the north facing twin bedroom, which features office hookups and long desktop appropriate for two people. Stacked washer and dryer upstairs for convenience, also clothes line for sunshine fresh sheets and towels. Another small building down the hill for afternoon thinking and late day cocktails provides splendid views of the sunsets from this location.

On a typical Port Clyde postage stamp lot with an old fashioned one-car garage at top of hill near the road. Kitchen herb garden with strawberries. Deck for outdoor grilling and relaxation. Indoor heat for cool evenings and year-round living. 1950's kitchen has not been touched with upgrades, original linoleum floor, and no dishwasher. Life the old fashioned way. Former sunporch is now the dining room with window seat overlooking the grandest view in Port Clyde. Tiled fireplace designed by Linda, who named this location Timeless Days.

As part of our rental application we do ask for two references from previous rental companies/agents/homeowners etc.

Long-term renters in our off-season, which is from October 1st through May 31st, are responsible for paying all utilities in addition to their lease amounts. We also require background check and references on all long-term guests.

Sweet cottage, perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This is the Maine cottage that you envision. It is small but very cozy and well cared for. The furnishings throughout the house are comfortable and in beautiful condition. The view to the harbor is perfect and the sunsets are spectacular. The deck has a glass railing which gives an unobstructed view which really adds to your desire to "just sit and enjoy." The kitchen is probably from the 1950's but it is cute with lots of working space, but no dishwasher and a very small refrigerator. The master bedroom faces the harbor and has windows on three sides allowing the sea breeze to put you to sleep. The stairs to the second floor are steep and so if there is any mobility problems this should be considered. The staff that cares for this house is very quick to respond to questions and needs--------a real bonus. We would rent again.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our visit to Timeless Days. We want to make our reservation for the whole month of October next year. We both felt very welcome. Things to be aware of include that you don't have to lock the front door all the time, the water pressure was a little like camping out and making do but then that will not be a problem next year as you plan to drill a new well, the refrig needed defrosting because guests did not realize that old fashion refrigs do not have magnetic latches and did not close completely without a hard push , there are a lot of dishes and cooking utensils, the stove is a work of art to light, the garbage has to be put up at the top of the driveway on Friday night for pickup on early Saturday morning and don't worry about wild animals tearing into the garbage as they there are none there, oh your only allowed one garbage bag a week unless management gets an outside trash barrel that can hold two or more garbage bags, you also have a vegetable garden in front of the house but you have to get to the ripe vegetables before the neighbors get to them, at times the TV is a little tricky and don't use your cell phone in the evening as the signal is weak and that is why there is a land phone in the house, and the sunsets are beautiful but the after glow is more spectacular.

This is quintessential Maine! The views, the traditional within the home, the quick response!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, clean, so many places to watch the happenings on the water, whether from the deck, the dock, or the pier! There is Nothing like kayaking out your front door! The decor is traditional Maine. The gardener, maintenance person, and lead manager were very responsive! We can't get enough of this place and cannot wait to return!

Beautiful property, house complete with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Timeless Days! It's a beautiful home on stellar property with breath-taking views. My only complaint would be that the stairs are quite steep but there was an extra handrail at the top which was very helpful! The house was immaculate and complete with everything we needed and more. Close to Port Clyde town so we could walk, which we did several times a day. We would absolutely recommend this lovely property.
