Perfect family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for the wonderful home away from home for our family vacation! We had a total of 13 adults and 3 kids and the two levels of this house were absolutely perfect for us. The big wave competition was taking place literally in front of the house, so every morning we not only had the gorgeous ocean views to enjoy with our morning coffee, but also some pretty spectacular surfing to watch. We took a leisurely walk over to Ted's Bakery each day for breakfast and spent each evening on the sand in front of the house with a cold beverage watching the sunset. The location simply could not have been any better! Additionally, since we had a baby and two toddlers in our group, we were very pleasantly surprised to find how well-stocked the house was for families with kids! There were a few pack n' plays, high chairs, a baby bouncy seat (which we LOVED having!), and lots of toys too! We will be back!!!

Nice summer vacation home to stay!

  • 4 of 5

The house is nice and clean with household supplies. The beach is so beautiful in front of the house. The only thing I would wish is to give air condition in the day time so people can stay inside. Other than that, it is perfect for a family to stay.

Hale Kimo was Paradise!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Hale Kimo (Oct. 2016) was definitely one of our family's best vacations. The home accommodated our 4 generations and 13 family members. The property was very secure so the kids could play outside without worry. We were just steps to the beach which included a reef for snorkeling and we even saw a turtle. I did a little body surfing till surf was up and the show started. We had coffee on the lanai in the morning and watched 20-30 surfers riding 12-15 ft waves right in front of us. The rooms were nice and the property was well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cookware, plates and cups. There is a foot/bike path adjacent to the property so we rented some bikes and rode to the food trucks and some other beaches up the road. Great location, Great house, Great property. I can't say enough. We are planning a return trip to Hale Kimo in 2018.

Great home on Sunset Beach

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Hale Kimo with 10 other people in February of 2016. This is a fantastic home - right on the best part of Sunset Beach. The views from the house are amazing, and the upstairs and downstairs decks are unbelievable. The pictures really do not do the view justice. The location of the home is also great - right next to the main entrance to Sunset Beach. You are right in the thick of all surfing competitions. There is also a nice bike path right behind the home. We rented bikes and used them extensively throughout the trip to ride down to the various food trucks, or explore other beaches in the area. The house itself is a little bit dated, but quite large and comfortable. There is some noise from the road behind the house, but it was drowned out all night by the sound of the waves. Honestly, we did not spend much time inside the house - as we were on the deck or down by the water most of the time. Thanks for opening up your home!

Beautiful Get Away with the Best Value for the Money, Location, and Ammenities

  • 5 of 5

After having a Beautiful Wedding in Waikiki, we wanted to take advantage of having all of our friends in my new wife’s home state since we currently live in Chicago. We had eleven adults (including ourselves) who extended the festivities to spend a week on the North Shore to relax and unwind.

First, setting up the rental was an enjoyable experience; we had other property managers feel a little overwhelmed by the multiple questions from 11 adults planning a vacation. Steffany was amazing. She responded to all of our inquiries in a timely and positive manner.

Like most people, we had anxiety that when we arrived at the property, that it would not be what we expected. In this case, the property did not exactly match the photos on this site, but "wow" we were pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not do the views or the home justice. Additionally, the bathrooms are newly renovated and beautiful.

As for the amenities, both kitchens are fully stocked with the needed materials to cook for eleven people. Additionally, we had two grilling gurus who were overly impressed with the well maintained Weber Genesis grill. We used it every night to cook and the owners provide extra propane in case you run out.

The little extra amenities for the beach were a welcome find. They have every type of flotation device for the beach including boogie boards. Additionally, three of our friends spent hours snorkeling in the reef close to shore using the equipment that was easy to find. They even had enough beach chairs and a cooler for those who wanted to just enjoy the beach. The beach is right there so the cooler was only needed to avoid the 100 yard walk to the kitchen – but it is vacation!

The location was perfect. You are an enjoyable morning walk from Ted’s bakery where people enjoyed breakfast and lunch many times during our stay! Additionally, through the Living Social website, friends were able to find deals on local adventures including paddle board and surf board lessons. Though my wife and I rarely left the beautiful accommodations since we were recovering from the wedding events the week before, our friends ventured out to explore the excellent local food at towns nearby and Turtle Bay.

I highly recommend this beautiful location for a retreat that is not too far away from everything, but feels completely secluded. The amenities, customer service, price and accommodations make it the perfect North Shore get away.
