About Sue or Bob Kust

We fell in love with Holland when we would visit our girls who both attended Hope College, when graduation time creeping up on us we set about to find a vacation home in this lovely community, We love the friendliness, shopping, farmers market, the lake and beaches and of course all that goes on at Hope College. Since we live in Cincinnati we decided to rent our house out so that others could enjoy it when we weren't there ourselves.

Sue or Bob Kust purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Sue or Bob Kust chose West Central

We loved the cottagey feel and the proximity to the beach, there is nothing like taking a short walk down the street to the Lake, even in the winter. It is a changing landscape everyday. Also the house has plenty of room for a crowd and a great outdoor area. Its a great place to unwind.

What makes this cottage unique

Close to the bike trails and beach but on a quite street away from the crowds. Short walk to the beach and short ride into town for restaurants and shopping

We felt at home here in Holland. Very neat downtown area. Bummer about the cold, rainy weather.

The house was very cozy and clean! Plenty of space! My two boys, ages 13 and 10 enjoyed the foosball table in the basement! We enjoyed our last night watching a movie near the easy to use fireplace! I would recommend this property for anyone wishing to visit the Holland area! I hope to be back!

We had a wonderful mini vacation thanks to our stay at this home. It looked exactly the same as the pictures online and was very clean. If we head back to Holland we will definitely stay here again. Great home!

We just spent a long weekend in Holland with children and granddaughters. We loved this house with it's close proximity to Tunnel Park and Lake Michigan! We were prepared for much cooler weather but had picture perfect weather! This house was spotless and so comfortable. Wish we'd stayed longer but would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home, great location and great to work with!

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time using Home Away and we sure did hit the jackpot with Sue and Bob's vacation house! Convientely located within walking distance of the beach, the house perfectly fit our extended family of 10. The basement has a fold out bed (as comfortable as a sofa bed can be I guess) and my small girls adored the bunk beds just around the corner. The main floor bedroom has a very comfortable bed and upstairs the master suite is by far the best room of the house! The twin beds were cute and my niece and nephew loved their room too.

Be sure to bring your own paper towels and for us we brought our own laundry soap so we didn't have to deal with laundry when we got back home. If you do forget any last minute items there is a 24 hour grocery store located about 10 minutes away. The house is about 45 minutes away from Michigan Adventure, which is where we went to for 2 of our 4 day / 3 night stay.

Sue and Bob were always very egar to respond to any and all questions or concerns we had prior to our stay. Their instructions for maintaining their beautiful home were very through and left little to question.

Loved the house, our stay and experience - I'd love to work with them again!

Wonderful stay in Holland, MI!

  • 5 of 5

The home was beautiful and in a great area of Holland. Easily walkable to the lake and a quick drive into the town. We had 8 adults plus our toddler. Our little guy just loved the front lawn and the house was easy and safe for him to maneuver in. Everything was very, very clean and just super nicely decorated but also comfortable and homey. We would definitely stay at this home again!

Calming, clean and relaxing home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Fieldhouse Cottage. The home was perfect for our 4 adults and 4 teens. The lower level was a bonus for sure! The teens had a hang out space. The decor is extremely well done and the bedding and furnishings were very comfortable. The location was close to Tunnel park and the many trails were perfect for geocaching and walks! The owner was very attentive and pleasant to work with. Thanks for a great stay!

Just a few minute walk to beautiful Lake Michigan and Tunnel Park. Enjoy the stunning views of clear blue water, sailboats and seagulls as you kick back and unwind. There’s no better place to be in the spring than Holland's Tulip Time Festival. Known for our famous Tulip Time Festival, Windmill Island and Dutch Village just to name a few of our local attractions. Fall is a great time to take a hike and enjoy the fall colors. We are surrounded by miles and miles of bike trails. You can bike all the way to Grand Haven along the lakefront. In the winter curl up next to your own cozy fireplace, cross country ski or just marvel at Lake Michigan’s Icebergs. The downtown is a great place to shop even during the snowiest winter days with help of our heated downtown sidewalks and outdoor fireplace. Holland’s downtown is vibrant year round and is a huge draw for locals and visitors alike. Don't forget to visit our famous Holland Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays summer and Fall! Christmas Market after Thanksgiving !
