Experience KaMilo at its finest! Enter through the luxurious front entrance to KaMilo 301 and you are immediately taken in by the sense of serenity and lushness of your surroundings, as your gaze is directed towards the 25-foot pocket doors that open up the main lanai to the interior. Once you set foot on the lanai, the 270 degree golf course view with ocean and mountain views in the distance assure you that you have indeed arrived in paradise. So come in, and relax with a tropical drink as you take the tour through what will be your home for the duration of your Big Island Getaway!

The main level of the split level home features a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, large kitchen island with bar seating, and a connected dining area with seating for 6. The living room boasts a 55-inch LED LCD flatscreen TV hooked up to surround sound speakers for a better viewing experience. The main level lanai has additional seating, as well as a BBQ grill for those nights when you want to cook up some fresh island fish from the Kawaihae Fish Market, or perhaps some grass-fed Big Island steaks!

A guest bedroom located on the main level is perfect for those who don't handle stairs so well, and with access to the full bathroom with walk-in shower also on the main level, they're all set.

Going down the stairs, you arrive at the family room/den, with another flatscreen TV. You can access the pool deck from here, where the 'spool' awaits. A combination spa and pool, this unique water feature is the perfect complement to your tropical vacation, with a jetted seating area and a fountain.

The master bedroom features a Cal-king sized Tempur-Pedic bed with matching end tables and dresser, high ceilings, and an en suite bathroom with a soaking tub which looks out to the golf course, and a walk-in shower, as well as a separate toilet, dual sinks, and a large walk-in closet.

A third bedroom towards the back also boasts a Cal-king Tempur-Pedic bed, and features a private lanai with a sitting area, just right for reading the paper in the morning with a cup of Kona coffee. An adjoining full bathroom with a tub/shower combo services this bedroom as well as the downstairs den.

Wonderful home for a family Hawaii vacation

The pool heater is fixed and working great. Home is beautiful and well appointed. The Mauna Lani resort is a great place. Our second trip to this resort. The beach at the Beach Club is excellent. Nice beach with good snorkeling. Will come again. The property management people were great. James was very helpful.

Goregous Location

This house is situated far enough from Kailua to give you a truly magical Hawaiian vacation. It's situated near the most beautiful beaches on the island and has all the amenities most folks look for in a Hawaiian vacation close at hand. The property managers James and Kai couldn't have been more accommodating. They dropped by to check on things and brought us a few things to make our stay more enjoyable. We've been coming to the Big Island for over 25 years and have our favorite spots but locals always have the best info, so we picked their brains.

That being said, there were issues with the house that did not add to vacation delight. This was the highest price I've ever paid for a vacation home per night and I had high expectations. One major issue was the pool heater was broken and the pool was cold. I understand that this is a maintenance issue which can not be controlled, but this feature was one of the major reasons I booked this property. There was inadequate seating for 5 adults and 2 children in the living room area and the den area. There was inadequate dishware and flatware for 7 people. The beds were great but the 2 children did not have a sofa bed or any available sleeping area unless they were sleeping with their parents. The number of guests and their ages was included prior to our arrival. The beach amenities were poor and did not include a cooler for day use at the beach. There were no garage door opener, no bikes (mention in previous reviews) lots of TV's but the instructions to make things work was minimal and we never got them working in all the bedrooms.

On the plus side no doubt due to James and Kai, there was lots of toilet paper, dish washing soap, laundry pods, shower gels and shampoo, and hangers in the closets The air conditioner worked great, though we didn't need it. The beach club access to Mauni Lani beach was fantastic. I've always had to walk through the lava fields to gain access!

The most fun feature was the Pink Jeep experience offered through Aloha Reality. We took advantage of this feature on our last full day and had a family adventure that will last a life time. I would not hesitate to work with Aloha Reality again on my next family vacation. James and Kai upon request worked with me regarding the maintenance concerns and my birthday celebration was 10 magical days in paradise with my family.

Great location and community pool. Not great house extras or customer service.

The Mauni Lani and fairmont area is fantastic and the KaMilo community pool and area was great too! The house is just ok. When booking there were bikes, SUPs and snorkel and beach gear in the description but the only things still there are some old pool and sand toys and beach chairs (FYI - the property is up for sale so I don’t think the owners are putting anything into it at this point). The pool heater was broken on arrival and unfortunately could not be fixed before we left. I get that things break and it’s unavoidable but they did know that the amenities had changed since I booked but no communication on the front was had. Even after reaching out to the property manager, no conciliatory gesture was extended. There are plenty of options within this complex with better amenities and hopefully better management so I would recommend checking out other properties first. The house was fine but with no amenities and the customer service subpar we wouldn’t stay there again.

Great Stay in Kamilo

Another great stay. This time we were in unit 301, great space for four people. The house is very comfortable and clean. My only suggestions would be when larger parties are staying to have access to have few more lounge chairs by the pool and perhaps a table for the upstairs deck since it is so great to eat outside. We have stayed at two properties that Live Aloha manages and they have been great!!

Great house for your Big Island stay

We had a wonderful 6 night stay at Kamilo 301. The home is beautiful, clean, spacious, and well equipped. The pool at the house was perfect for our kids. Since we have young children, we cooked dinner each night, and used the bbq on the lanai, which was a great place to watch the sunset. James (property manager) was really helpful, responsive, pleasant, and accommodated our requests. We also really enjoyed having access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club, and the shared pools (family pool and adult/lap pool) in the complex. Family pool is a close walk from the house. Location was also great, as the house is a short drive from many beautiful beaches, and close to Mauna Lani shops, grocery, etc. We also rented a golf (GEM) cart for a few days which was a fun and easy way to get around with our family. We would definitely come back!
