About Marie M. Hall
I was born in Texas then moved to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. During this time, my father, a Vietnam veteran, was serving in the Army’s Special Forces. I grew up in Buncombe County where the family home had been established in the late 1800s. I have lived in North Dakota, California, Idaho, Washington State and Australia. As a missionary nurse, I have traveled to Peru, Guatemala, Indonesia, and Australia. I have three border collies-PRINCESS Kenai, Shammy and Healy, Coxie-the rooster and his nine hens, and some minx cats that enjoy my family farm with me.
Marie M. Hall purchased this Cabin in 1985
Why Marie M. Hall chose Leicester
This is a family inheritance which I am privileged to own. I want you to share with me in this experience of beauty and solitude. No city lights, just God's heavenly stars. A bird watchers sanctuary and great hiking.

The property is beautiful and the cabin was even better than the pictures. What made this stand out is all the little things that the owner Marie did right. Clean, good water pressure, toilet works well, heat and AC worked well, the kitchen was well stocked, etc. And I can't say enough about Marie. What a sweet and interesting lady. And she was the perfect balance of hospitable and hands off. I can't wait to come back with my family.
We truly enjoyed our time at the cabin. Marie is the perfect host. Plenty of privacy but not too far if you need anything. The star gazing is incredible here! We highly recommend this little cabin.
Fantastic getaway! Perfect location near lots of stuff to do, yet far enough to have some peace.
This cabin was a great place for my wife and I to ring in the New Year. Though, the weather wasn't the best while we were there, we were absolutely fine with staying in this warm and cozy home away from home. Marie was absolutely the best host, and we greatly appreciated the farm fresh eggs. Will be back ASAP!!!
The cabin and the Mountain was more than we anticipated!!
We were not expecting what we saw when we walked into the cabin for the first time, the picture on line did not do it justice. We wanted to stay longer, but we could not. The greeting we received from the dog was more than great, she greeted us at least once a day, and the owner was the greatest person to meet and talk to about the cabin.
The mountains called, we responded and we were filled with the peace of God. Make sure your explore the Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway to experience the full majesty of the mountains.

Beautiful secluded cabin surrounded by trees and nature. Comfortable and clean, authentic mnt. home.
We stayed in this adorable cabin for 6 nights. What a great place to return to after a day of hiking and exploring! LOVED the front porch and cast iron bathtub! Will definitely stay again when we return to the area. Marie is a gracious hostess, enjoyed meeting her briefly. Also loved the visits from Princess the border collie!
So peaceful - So cozy !!!
This little cabin in the woods is a huge delight. My husband and I stayed for a few days and did not want to leave. The cabin is just secluded enough to be quite and peaceful but not too secluded that you cannot get to where you want to go quickly!
The cabin had everything we needed, it was clean and so comfortable. Have no fears about booking. Marie was very welcoming and made sure that we were well taken care of. Princess was a wonderful companion on our walks.
We hope to return some day!!!
