Private, cozy, retreat Lovey Dovey

  • 5 of 5

SUPERB MOUNTAIN VISTAS in TRANQUILITY! I enormously enjoyed my stay 6/14-6/17 at the Lovey Dovey. It was more spacious than I expected. It has a defined 'cabin' feel with all the wood but was clean with plenty of towels and washcloths. (I brought my own beach towel for the hottub but there are other regular towels there) Had all of the amenities I needed (washer/dryer w/detergent, full fridge, sink/detergent, toaster, dish washer, pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc) On a hill, so although there are neighbors below/above, when relaxing in the tub/porch, all you see is the mid-tree lines, so no one can see you and you don't see others. Just what I needed to de-stress. The chairs on the porch were very comfortable for reading. There is a tin-roof and I was praying for rain each evening because I can only imagine how awesome that would have been for relaxation. I will have to go back next spring to experience spring showers. Within 15-20 min of downtown Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway AND Biltmore Estates. My Wifi and phone (verizon) both worked acceptable during the weekdays (stopped working on Friday but there was also bad weather in the area. I was also forewarned about this by the owners so I didn't feel slighted in the least) Great communication from the hosts/owners during my stay and prior. Note: The bed is "firm" but I slept soundly and comfortably each night. Turning around in the driveway can be tricky. If you're going to cook, bring cooking spray and condiments. Otherwise there is a general dollar within 5 or so miles. If those are the only cautions, this place gets an A+ rating from me. I will be back again!

Private relaxing porch with nice hot tub

  • 4 of 5

Overall felt private. Beautiful breeze on porch with a nice hot tub. Wi-fi & cell service was spotty but that was ok. Cabin was cozy & clean. Could use a deep clean like cob webs & dust but hey it's a mountain cabin so that was ok too. Also it rained for 2 days while we were there from Irma and we never lost power & had all we needed to cook & stay in. Another really nice thing is we had our 2 little dogs & we could sit out on the porch with them & they were safe because the railing is covered and there is an outside door to the porch. Its a little hard to find the road to the cabins because its not marked. Overall pleased with our stay and would recommend and stay again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review! Cell service and wifi are definately not the best, but it's all that is available to us at this time. We have tried to get better, and hopefully we will be able to in the future. Thanks for letting us know about the cob webs and dust. We try to have each cabin deep cleaned a few times a year. We will make sure to put Lovey Dovey next on the list. Please come back and visit us again if you are in the area. Thanks, Cabins of Asheville

Owner's Response: We have designed our cabins to be the perfect romantic getaway for couples. We want our guests to be able to relax and reconnect while staying with us. They are just the perfect size for a cozy mountain getaway for 2. They are privately situated right beside the Pisgah National Forest. There are wonderful mountain views. The sights and sounds that surround you while sitting in the hot tub or out on the deck are phenomenal. Please, visit with us again if you are in the area. Thanks, Cabins of Asheville

Great, peaceful stay

This cabin was perfect for our stay. Perfect size for 2 people, very clean and quiet. The cabin had nice wooded views with trails nearby and the hot tub was the icing on the cake.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review! We designed our cabins with couples in mind. We want them to be a perfect getaway for couples to enjoy. It is a great place to be able to enjoy all that nature has to offer. There Is a trail that leads to the Pisgah National Forest that is easily accessible from all of the cabins. We are only 4 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway which has many hiking trails and waterfalls. After a long day in Downtown Asheville or hiking different trails, the hot tub is refreshing and relaxing. We hope that you can come back and stay with us again in the future. Thanks, Cabins of Asheville

Very clean, just not as private as I had imagined.

  • 4 of 5

To arrive at this cabin you take a drive through the country, which was nice. What I do not remember reading was that you travel up a short gravel road that then becomes paved again, which isn't horrible but I'm definitely glad we took my husbands truck and not my car. It was pretty steep, and so was the paved portion. When I say steep my husbands Ram with new tires spun some (and it had rained so I'm sure that was a small factor). When you arrive, you quickly notice quite a few other cabins. While you are secluded in a sense that you are separated by woods and an enclosed porch, it is not quite as secluded as I thought we were going to be. I could see another cabin across the driveway, above and below us while standing outside. However, you do not see them from inside the hot tub or cabin. They were strategically placed I'm sure.

The cabin was exactly as pictured. Very clean and cozy. The pillows were a little flat, as someone else mentioned. If that's a big deal to you, I would suggest bringing you own. The towels were nice and fluffy and the coffee maker worked like a charm. Thank goodness. LOL.

I think it took us about 30/35 min to get to downtown Asheville from the cabin. Just an FYI: Uber was not available (in the area) to take us into town from the cabin while we were there, but we did use Uber while adventuring around town due to the rain.

Overall it was very nice and we would probably stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for coming to stay with us and leaving a review. We try to offer some of the nicest and most private cabins in Asheville. We did recently pave the road going down the hill to this cabin which makes it possible for a small car to access it easily. A smaller vehicle is actually a better choice to bring to this cabin because it is shorter and alot easier to turn around and drive. Also, uber will come to the cabin, but you have to use the "pick me up" feature instead of the address. If you only use the address, it will say that it doesn't service the area. Thank you for letting us know about the pillows. We will replace those. Thank you Eric Wilson Cabins of Asheville

The area where this cabin is its the best of both worlds. You can be in downtown in less than 20 minutes and you have the Blue RIdge Parkway at your back door only 5 miles away. Downtown has many local restaurants and shops. This property also touches the Pisgah National Forest so you can hike right from the cabin.
