Overview

About the property

This is one of the newer addition to our cabin family. It has a nice 4 person hot tub, gas fireplace, gas grill and a full kitchen with granite counter tops. It has great wooded views where you can make memories to last a lifetime. Cell phone service is minimal (Verizon works about the best) , but wifi is fairly good in this cabin. This is a cabin you will want to come back to after a long day of hiking in the woods or in downtown Asheville. It is very secluded for those special times.

This cabin is Pet Friendly!

WE WILL BE BACK!!

  • 5 of 5

My fiance and I stayed at this cottage for Christmas just the two of us for a change of pace and to recover after Irma. I'm a complete sucker for Hallmark Christmas and this cabin was as picturesque as their movies! The fireplace made the house cozy, we were warm with the two heaters and the hot tub was heaven! Kitchen and bath are updated, clean and well equipped! The only suggestion I have is for guest who will be traveling in the winter to make sure they have a vehicle safe for steep winding roads.... this cabin is remote and the roads are a bit intimidating the first few times but then its just fun :) We walked right out our door to hike and there is also an incredible entrance to Blue Ridge Mountain just up the road called Elk Pasture Gap. Another detail that some might want to know is that there is absolutely zero service once you are within 5 miles of the cabin and there is no WiFi....we LOVED this because our work constantly requires us to be glued to our phone and the break was much needed!! There is reliable satellite TV with tons of channels should you want some electronics in your life. We visited all over Asheville and everywhere we went was about 15 - 30 minutes so we felt we had the best of both worlds being completely "off the grid" yet close to ALL that the city has to offer. We already decided we WILL be back and hope to stay in the same cottage. The Cabins of Asheville are the perfect retreat!

Owner's Response: We are thrilled to hear that you had such a great time while staying with us! We got the road paved down to the bottom cabins this past spring, so they are very manageable with any vehicle. The road is fairly steep, so it is understandable that they are intimidating, especially if you aren't used to driving on mountain roads. We do have Wifi in all of the cabins, but it is definately not very fast. We have tried everything we know to do to make it faster, but to no avail. Thanks for staying with us, and we look forward to having you visit again in the future. Thank, Cabins of Asheville

The drive in

  • 2 of 5

This was our second trip to these cabins, our first time I would have gave these cabins a five star. However, we stayed at one of the top cabins. This time we stayed at one of the bottom cabins. The road to get down to the cabin, is a problem. It is so dangerous it makes me sick to my stomach every time we had to drive on it. I would keep nagging my husband to drive slow and careful, and it would cause us unnecessary bickering. The hiking trial was relatively close to our cabin and we wanted to make use of it, but a hunter started shooting right off the trail. It was very close. On the second night we went to get in the hot tub, only to find it was only 86° we turned it up all the way, but it took until the next morning to get hot, and that was the day we left. Feeling like we wasted our money.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The road was paved in the spring of 2017. It is about 10 feet wide. A normal lane on a state road is 8 feet wide. There is a turn around at the bottom, so you don't have to try to turn around in the middle. It is best to just take it slow, and we have done our best to mark each cabin. We are connected onto the Pisgah National Forest and the US government does allow hunting, but the area we are connected to has a lot of hikers so most hunters do not use this area. We have instructions on the refrigerator on the use of the hot tub, but many guests forget to put the cover back on after their initial use, and the water will get cool if the cover is left off over night. I really hate that this guest didn't have a great time. We strive to make all of our guests happy. If you stay with us and have any problems, please contact us during your stay, and we will do our best to fix it. Thanks, Cabins of Asheville

The area where this cabin is its the best of both worlds. You can be in downtown in less than 20 minutes and you have the Blue RIdge Parkway at your back door only 5 miles away. Downtown has many local restaurants and shops. This property also touches the Pisgah National Forest so you can hike right from the cabin.
