About Property Manager
I live on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and love the beach and the mountains. My faith and my family are the most important things in my life. My four pound Morkie, Mikey, runs a close third. I have been searching for the perfect mountain getaway for a couple of years. Having been a real estate broker for 30 years, I knew when I first saw this property---it was perfect! This is a peaceful place where my children, grandchildren, and I will enjoy for many years.
Property Manager purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Property Manager chose Candler
I remember years ago coming to the mountains and driving through Saluda, NC listening to the sound of the stream. I said then, 'I want a cabin on a stream like this someday'. I was looking on the internet and found this cabin for sale and soon made the trip to Asheville to see it. Driving across the covered bridge with trout waters rushing underneath, the view of the mountains and the private, safe setting all let me know this was the cabin for me. When I stepped onto the twenty-five foot front porch overlooking the steam and sat down in the swing, I made the decision to buy the property. I could see the potential for the perfect mountain escape. When I purchased the cabin I had no idea all that would need to be done to make it the cozy, warm paradise I was looking for. The house had to be rewired, re-plumbed, a new foundation poured, insulation added, new cabinets and counter top, new appliances, new bathroom and an addition built. I started planning the renovations and hired the best carpenter in Asheville to make the changes necessary for a romantic vacation retreat for couples to enjoy when I am spending time at my home at the beach.
What makes this Cabin unique
This serene property is a 'jaw-dropper'. The spectacular views of the mountains coupled with the sounds of the stream make this one of the most unique places to stay near Asheville. You have total privacy in this exquisitely decorated cabin, yet you are close to downtown Asheville. There is only one step up leading into the cabin, so it is great for couples as they enjoy the adventure of aging. It is such a romantic, quiet setting that couples of all ages will enjoy the comfort of modern day amenities while experiencing the beauty of nature.

Perfect in every way!
This place is amazing! Immaculately kept, cozy, quiet, perfect, perfect, perfect! The view of the river is amazing-and the hammock and fire pit close by was awesome! We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back! Not one thing was missing!
Relaxing Spot off the Beaten Path
Excellent Creekside Location, not more than 20 feet adjacent to creek, and about 20 feet up as well.
"Back Porch" looks out over the creek and into the trees, great place to read a book. (since it wasn't bug season, we used this over the smaller enclosed patio).
Well appointed: the furniture was nice and comfy, everything felt good.
Large Shower and generally updated bathroom.
Secluded-ish. It's probably not more than 150 yards to the neighbors house, but you can't make out more than a vague outline through the trees (springtime). At the same time, that means you're not that far from a convenience store/etc.
Hot tub was relaxing and had a view of the creek (if you are tall).
My wife liked the hammock (though I didn't try it out myself).
Bed was a little disappointing as it had a noticeable depression.
The window directly over the head of the bed faces the parking area, and associated light-post. This light was bright and streamed through the curtains projecting light right into the sleeping area.
Neighbors have dogs that tend to bark/whine at seemingly every passing car... thankfully there isn't that many! Also, it was oddly easier to hear the dogs when indoors near the bed area than on the porch/deck (where the creek noise dominates - this may be seasonal).
Bed is not separated from living area. This may not be ideal for any more than 2 people (or people with kids that have a different bedtime than the adults.
Hot tub is a 2 person affair.
Turn right past the gate, as there is another house on the left (unclear if that is a neighbors place or owner's actual residence.)
We didn't get a chance to try out the trails as it was raining for most of our stay.
Probably don't use the TV and fireplace at the same time, seems like the TV gets overheated due to the heat coming off the fireplace.
Fireplace kicks out a LOT of heat.
We'd recommend this for a quiet romantic getaway for a couple looking to de-stress! We had a great time and would stay here again if we're ever back in the area.
Andrew. Thank you so much for your kind remarks regarding your stay at Pisgah Mountain Creekside Cabin.. There are a few things I would like to respond to. I am at the cabin now for a few days and the minute I walked in I checked the bed and there is no intention. It does have a pillow top high mattress on it and if you possibly put your luggage on there you may see a little indention. Your comment regarding the arrangement not being suitable for children, our headline is Romantic Get-Away For Two. We cater to couples only. That is also the reason for the cozy hot tub for two. We do hope you return soon to enjoy the wonderful trails into the amazing Pisgah National Forest. Peace and blessings, BeJe
Awesome indoors & out. Tastefully done with everything you need
Great cabin for 2 people. Everything was great. Had everything you could want. Great location awesome property with all the outdoor amenities you could want
Thank you so much for the kind remarks and enjoying your stay! We feel blessed when our guest enjoy their stay. Our main goal is for your peace and special time together while watching and listening to the creek and sounds of nature. Peace always! Tammy and BeJe
We loved the cabin and the setting of the property!
Amazing property especially the creek running right through it! Everything you needed was there. Would definitely stay again. We did not get to do everything we would have liked do to the weather conditions but hopefully we get to stay again.
Thank you so much for enjoying our little piece of heaven. Yes, the creek is amazing. That is one of the main reasons I purchased the property.I am so sorry that the weather was not great while you were there. We look forward to having you return soon - enjoying the beauty that is there for you. Peace and blessings always, BeJe
Nice but Not Great
Not enough leaves on the trees to keep the Bumpus hounds barking and the sight of the local trashy neighbor at bay.
The Hot Tub water smelled of mildew bad enough we were only able to stand it for a few minutes. This was very disappointing considering part of our relaxing vacation is enjoyed chilling in a hot tub. Walking trail markers were very confusing, white to green to blue to orange.... thought we were being lured to grandma's house by the Big Bad Wolf.
The property behind the gate was very nice. Fire pit was nice overlooking the creek. Very relaxing siting in the hammock with the creek nearby.
Thanks for the hospitality, don't think we will be back.
I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay at the cabin. It is truly amazing! You are able to see local mountain culture on you way to the cabin, but once you cross the private covered bridge and enter the 12 acre property--- it is all beauty. I sent the hot tub expert over as soon as I received your review. It was clean and perfectly balanced. You may have smelled the bromine chemicals used to keep the hot tub sanitized. We carefully clean the hot tub after each stay.
We are very fortunate to have a trail leading from the cabin into the Pisgah National Forest. The forest rangers keep the trail marked and we have no control over that. Everyone easily finds their way back to the cabin and writes about how much they enjoy the hikes. This is a wonderful time of year to visit the mountains!
Thanks so much,
This cabin is fantastic for a romantic and quite getaway. It is close enough to Asheville to enjoy the town, but you could easily stay at the cabin for a whole weekend and enjoy yourself. The hot tub, fire pit, porches, and hammock are a great way to just pass the time outside while listening to the relaxing sounds of the creek. You can take a hike right from the cabin. The cabin itself is stocked with pretty much everything you need.
Our only complaint is the smell of the water. When we started the shower, there was a STRONG smell of sulfur and the entire house smelled of sulfur afterwards. By the second day, the smell dissipated. I would assume that during the busier time of year, there would be no smell to the water as it is being cycled through more often.
I would highly recommend this cabin!
Thank you for your wonderful review! I want to apologize for the sulfur smell in the water. I typically change the water filter when there has been a lapse in the time guests are there, but we had a death in the family and I had to leave town unexpectedly. The water is definitely safe, but does smell after it sits for a while. I look forward to your return and next time no water smell.
The famous Biltmore Estate is only 20 minutes away. Only 16 miles from downtown Asheville, my cabin's property boarders the Pisgah National Forest. Hiking trails through Pisgah National Forest from the cabin!
Hiking trails are abundant only minutes away on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
March to November you can enjoy breakfast at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
A favorite downtown shopping spot in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Waynseville is Mast General Store.
Our favorite restaurants are the Admiral and Curate', you must make reservations early though.
