About The Owner

I live on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina and love the beach and the mountains. My faith and my family are the most important things in my life. My four pound Morkie, Mikey, runs a close third. I have been searching for the perfect mountain getaway for a couple of years. Having been a real estate broker for 30 years, I knew when I first saw this property---it was perfect! This is a peaceful place where my children, grandchildren, and I will enjoy for many years.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2015

Why The Owner chose Smoky Mountains

I remember years ago coming to the mountains and driving through Saluda, NC listening to the sound of the stream. I said then, 'I want a cabin on a stream like this someday'.

I was looking on the internet and found this cabin for sale and soon made the trip to Asheville to see it. Driving across the covered bridge with trout waters rushing underneath, the view of the mountains and the private, safe setting all let me know this was the cabin for me. When I stepped onto the twenty-five foot front porch overlooking the steam and sat down in the swing, I made the decision to buy the property. I could see the potential for the perfect mountain escape.

When I purchased the cabin I had no idea all that would need to be done to make it the cozy, warm paradise I was looking for. The house had to be rewired, re-plumbed, a new foundation poured, insulation added, new cabinets and counter top, new appliances, new bathroom and an addition built.

I started planning the renovations and hired the best carpenter in Asheville to make the changes necessary for a romantic vacation retreat for couples to enjoy when I am spending time at my home at the beach.

What makes this cabin unique

This serene property is a 'jaw-dropper'. The spectacular views of the mountains coupled with the sounds of the stream make this one of the most unique places to stay near Asheville. You have total privacy in this exquisitely decorated cabin, yet you are close to downtown Asheville. There is only one step up leading into the cabin, so it is great for couples as they enjoy the adventure of aging. It is such a romantic, quiet setting that couples of all ages will enjoy the comfort of modern day amenities while experiencing the beauty of nature.

Great stay in Candler, NC

My wife and I stayed here for a trip to the Asheville area after Thanksgiving. We loved the location, which was near to both the surrounding mountains as well as downtown Asheville. The cabin was warm and cozy and we enjoyed the hot tub as well. Only complaint is the lack of propane in the grill when we went to grill our steaks we had bought in town.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for enjoying the cabin and your wonderful remarks. My family was there for Thanksgiving, leaving on the 27th and changed out the tank at that time. We ask that the gas be turned off at the tank when finished for safety purposes. Maybe someone else left it on and the gas ran out or it was still turned off at the tank. We are so sorry for the inconvenience! We do hope you will join us again to see the different beautiful seasons. Peace and blessings, Tammy and BeJe

We had the privilege of staying at the Mountain Getaway October 18-26th. We were in absolute awe from the moment we passed through the security gate. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and the cabin is extremely charming. We enjoyed all of its amenities, especially the covered deck overlooking the creek. Unfortunately, we weren't able to take advantage of the hot tub, but it as well as the entire cabin was beautifully maintained with attention to detail unsurpassed.

After our days touring the Biltmore and Asheville, driving the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway to Bryson City for an excursion on the Great Smoky Mountain Railway, it was always a pleasure to return to this comfortable and cozy cabin.

Truly romantic and relaxing.

We stumbled over this place on VRBO. We are sincerely thrilled with our stay in this mountains retreat. This cabin has everything. You couldn't ask for anything more because it is extremely relaxing , it has beautiful scenery and all the comforts of home. Downtown Asheville is only 20-25 minutes away with all it has to offer. I had posted 15 pictures to Facebook before I even unpack my bags. It is secluded yet grocery stores are near. We will definitely come back to this house as soon as possible. This place was welcoming from the time you first entered til you left.

Owner's Response: THANK YOU! Especially since we had a problem with the gas logs. You were both so gracious. Also, thank you for enjoying my roosters. When I went to look at the cabin and property the first time alone and I was enjoying the sound of the creek, I heard a Rooster crow and I thought OK, I love it and Roosters will be my theme. Please return soon and let us know that it is a return visit. I will think of you when I enjoy Thanksgiving there with my family. Blessings, BeJe

The famous Biltmore Estate is only 20 minutes away. Only 16 miles from downtown Asheville, my cabin's property boarders the Pisgah National Forest. Hiking trails through Pisgah National Forest from the cabin!

Hiking trails are abundant only minutes away on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

March to November you can enjoy breakfast at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A favorite downtown shopping spot in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Waynseville is Mast General Store.

Our favorite restaurants are the Admiral and Curate', you must make reservations early though.
