3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom On A Golf Course With A Stunning Ocean View!
Our newly remodeled vacation home already has amazing ocean and golf course views but now boasts brand new modern bathrooms with Hans Grohe rain showers and fixtures plus a free-standing tub in the master bathroom, state of the art kitchen with Caesarstone counters and Kitchen Aid appliances, all new windows and doors, 8 foot tall sliders leading to the rear lanai, a covered outdoor lanai for dining, wall to wall hardwood flooring, new patio decking, all new furnishings and an enclosed garage. Each room including the lanai is equipped with Big Ass fans, considered the most efficient and quietest fans on the market.
Hanalei, on the island of Kauai, is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Its pristine beaches are surrounded by a stunning array of waterfalls and emerald-green cliffs.
Melia Kai is a private home with a sweeping view of the cobalt blue Pacific Ocean and the cascading waterfalls of Namolokama. Located on the Princeville Makai golf course, our house offers the visitor a wonderful opportunity to do just about everything---but it is also a terrific place to do absolutely nothing!
The spectacular views invite you to walk barefoot across the fairway to the edge of a 150-foot cliff (security may ask you to leave), where you look down on waves crashing onto the lava rock below. If you watch closely, you will see turtles swimming in the coves beneath you.
You will find that Melia Kai offers the best of two worlds - the luxurious amenities of the Princeville resort and the exotic remoteness of Kauai's north shore. One minute you can be sipping a Mai Tai in a crisp summer outfit at the sumptuous St. Regis Hotel, and the next you can be navigating a jungle trail in your bathing suit looking for the waterfall at the head of the Kalihiwai Valley.
Come stay the week at Melia Kai and experience paradise first hand!

About Meg Chan Feitelberg
Our family lives in Los Angeles. We are originally from South Africa (Dad) and Chinese from the Philippines (Mom). Our 3 kids were raised in Los Angeles and enjoy the benefits of their multi-cultural background. While the kids were growing up, we frequently came to Hawaii for vacations always dreaming of owning a home in Kauai one day.
Meg Chan Feitelberg purchased this House in 2013
Why Meg Chan Feitelberg chose Princeville
We have always wanted to own a home on the Garden Island of Kauai. Why? Location, Location, Location. Stunning ocean views and a beautiful golf course just outside your windows. You can see Bali Hai. where South Pacific was filmed. Drive around and you might imagine yourself in the middle of the Hunger Games or in Jurassic World. Kauai is not as touristy as Honolulu or Maui which we prefer. The house is only one floor and very easy to maintain. You have your privacy unlike hotels or condos. It's a great family home. Spacious enough for a family of 6 or 6 great buddies to hang out but small enough that you don't spend your vacation cleaning up. Plus we only accept reservations and payments through VRBO/Homeaway so this protects you from scammers or reservation errors (ie double bookings).
What makes this House unique
You get the benefit of a private home. Quiet solitude in paradise or loud, boisterous fun - it's your choice. Secluded Hideaways Beach is a short walk away behind Pali Ke Kua condos or take a walk in the opposite direction about 16 homes away and explore Queen Emma's Bath. Princeville Shopping Center is a 2 minute drive away and has everything you need (Foodland, pilates, touristy shops, restaurants, wine shops, bars, real estate offices you name it). Apparently beer is the same price at Foodland here as it is in Lihue or Kapaa so no need to shop and shlep. Hanalei Beach is only a short 5 minute drive away and that is pure heaven. Anini Beach with its beautiful sand and calm waters is only 10 minutes drive away door to beach. There is great snorkeling a little further down from Hanalei Beach at Tunnels Beach. Kayaking and SUP are available only 5 minutes away in Hanalei on the Hanalei River. And if you don't want to do much, sit out on our lanai and just watch the golfers and the birds - truly relaxing. Walk out to the bluff through the golf course (at your own risk because security will ask you to leave) with your glass of wine after 6:00 pm (very short walk) and see the waves crash on the lava rock while the sun sets. You can also rent golf carts from the Makai Golf Course clubhouse and ride along the golf course path riding past our house to see the awesome sunset view (be sure to call and reserve your cart ahead of time just in case).

A great home and a superb owner
This was our second stay at this property. As per last year’s stay everything was immaculate. My wife and I consider ourselves semi foodies and we love the huge kitchen and the modern appliances. We also appreciate the concise directions given to us by the owner prior to arriving. The home is incredibly airy and the views stunning. We actually came to photograph Albatross chicks which we knew had been hatched around February. One was directly outside the front Lanai and could be seen from both the kitchen and in the living room. One other thing that must be said. Although the owner lives on the mainland, she emailed us making sure we were fine due to the horrible weather problems occurring in and around the Princeville , Kauai area.
Lovely place. View of green and ocean was gorgeous. High end, well maintained hot tub. beds and linens were comfy. Light and spacious common area, cozy in the rain. Spent alot of time with a book in my hands intending to read but just looking out at the view instead.
Beautiful and clean!
What a gorgeous location and home! We absolutely loved it and would want to come back;however, one suggestion we might make is that you turn up the water temperature!! Our stay happen to be during much overcast with rain and it would’ve been nice to take a bath in that beautiful tub with warm water. The shower was cold, the hot tub was cold, and nobody could stand to take a bath because the water temperture was set so low and we came from Idaho snow country! However, the location and view made up for the cold water. You feel truly blessed to vacation here. Thanks for sharing your home.

Thanks for your review Kelly. Very happy that you loved the house. I wish you would have reached out to me during your stay regarding the water temperature because there are safety buttons on the water controls and if you push those you can make the water become hotter. I have included those in my house instructions. Also, the water has to run a bit longer to get hot in the master bathroom. I am not so sure why the hot tub wasn't hot. I will follow up with our spa maintenance crew because that is checked every week and it should be maintained at 100 degrees. Thanks for the feedback.
We enjoyed our vacation here. This home is in a beautiful and convenient location. We enjoyed the sunsets and the baby albatross right in the backyard. Nice quiet neighbourhood. Great family spot.
Thank you for the 5-Star review Kimberly. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay at our house. Aren't the albatross amazing? Glad you got to see the babies. Come again soon.
We had the most amazing time in this house. It’s in a quiet neighborhood on the most amazing part of the golf course. Very near the Queen’s Bath, but there is no traffic on this side of the neighborhood. If you walk out on the golf course you can look down on the ocean and Queen’s Bath.
Check in/out was simple and easy. The owner communicated clearly and promptly. Everything was exactly like the pictures, and incredibly well maintained. We didn’t cook a lot but the kitchen had all we needed.
We didn’t have the best weather the week we were there, so the jacuzzi was excellent to have. We had the best time in this house. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Kauai and would definitely recommend it to anyone with no regrets.
Thank you Brian for the great review. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay despite the weather not always cooperating. It's the beauty of Kauai but you have to be flexible with scheduling. Glad the house had everything you needed.
lovely immaculate home in a perfect spot
we loved staying at Meg's, it was light and airy and gorgeous. She was easy to communicate with and we found the place spotless and well equipped. It was easy to get around and close to Hanalei and lots of gorgeous beaches. the only things that would make it better would have been some suggestions about where to shop and eat and maybe sharper knives!!
we loved it!
Thank you Lisa. I will have to check into those knives - I just recently bought the ceramic ones so I am bummed that they are not so sharp. I will add tips for where to eat on my information sheets for sure. Thanks for the input.
