This is a 7 year old home that still smells new inside. It is completely furnished with nothing but comfort in mind. 2 reclining leather couches, along with very comfortable bedding, big screen tv in living area and extremely nice decorations to give you the feel of cozy and comfort in every room. All you need to bring is your food.
We supply you with a single stall in our 2 car garage to assure you have a place to park inside if a summer storm would happen to come through, or to put your car in for a cold winter night if you are staying in the cold months.
In floor heat and AC. Covered porch, washer and dryer along with all the things you will need in the kitchen to prepare a large meal or the smallest snack. We have full cable along with wifi, however we do not provide a computer, so you will need to bring your own device to work with.
The master bedroom is complete with a California king size bed with very cozy bedding, a master bath and shower along with a desk to work from if you need to do any work from home. 1 large ceiling fan. It also has a large walk in closet that we added 2 bunk beds in for extra people to sleep in, preferably kids. Full view windows to watch wildlife right outside the home in the back yard if you decide to leave the blinds open.
The second bedroom is very spacious also, with a huge closet, very comfortable queen size sleigh bed with super cozy bedding, cable tv and ceiling fan. The location is perfect for someone wanting to see all the sites as it is just a short distance to all the hotspots in the Blackhills region. Everything is brand new in this home to assure you the best stay with no problems. It is only minutes from Crazy Horse Mountain and also Mount Rushmore. Endless hiking including Harney Peak, the highest point in the Black Hills. Multiple lakes less than 3-5 miles away that are excellent for fishing and all types of water sports. Eagle viewing along with many other types of bird watching is unmatched in this location. We have even seen an occasional mountain lion in the area. The deer population is unbelievable. They will come right up to the house and even lay in the backyard, just outside the walls of the home.
The fact is, we have spent time in Colorado and many other locations around the US and it is no secret that viewing birds and animals in their natural habitat cannot be matched to what you will find in the Black Hills region of South Dakota.
What we and many others like about the Black Hills, is the fact it is so open to hiking and just plain getting out of your car and looking around. Let me tell you it is hard to find a no parking sign in this area. It seems many locations you go to, it is impossible to get out and explore the area, not in The Black Hills. Enjoy your stay and make sure to let us know if there is anyway we can help you make it the best vacation you ever had. Please call my cell 308-391-1813 at anytime or email me at email@example.com with questions about the home or for booking questions. We are a family from Nebraska that built this home in 2007 in Custer because we love the Black Hills and wanted to spend more time there. My wife is a Special Ed teacher in the local high school and I have a company called Hotwoods that we manufacture pontoon boats and docks along with many other related items. We have 2 beautiful Daughters, One Son in law and 2 wonderful Grand children, A very special foreign exchange student, we call our Son, and our dog Mia. and we are very involved with our work and family, but always find time to enjoy the Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota

This property has everything you need to enjoy your stay in the Black Hills. We completely furnished it with the best things we could find. This makes it very comfortable while staying here. Leather couches, Big screen cable tv, Very comfortable bedding along with all the things to make a kitchen a kitchen. Keep in mind we set this up for our family and now we are offering it to you to enjoy. The location is very close to everything you will want to do while in the Black Hills. It is located 51 miles from Sturgis, SD. The mountain countryside style neighborhood is not only very safe, it is very quiet for those porch setting days and evenings. In minutes you can be at Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse or any location in the Custer state park. It also has many excellent fishing lakes very close. Hiking and biking trails less than 300 yards from the front door. Deer and turkeys along with fox will be seen regularly all around the property as well as many different species of birds.
Shopping does not get any better than Rapid City located 45 miles away via the most scenic drive in the mountains, along with attractions like Bear Mountain and Reptile Gardens. These are places where you can really get up close and personal with wild bear, elk, wolf, and every type of reptile known to man.
Then there is the Badlands of South Dakota. Located about 90 miles to the east of our home, you will not believe what you will see there, as it looks just like the moon surface. This is a great area to hike and see wildlife like mountain goats, along with many large birds or prey.
Right down the road a few miles from the Badlands is Wall, SD, where you will find Wall Drug, that has been a vacation hot spot for visitors for over 100 years.
This home has no steps. It is all new so you do not have to worry about problems while staying. It has an attached garage. Our care takers are less than 10 miles away, if there ever would be an issue with something. You will have complete access to everything you need while you stay. You can always contact myself ( Kevin ) or my wife Karen on our cell phones if you need to for any reason.
We loved the location and the peace and quiet with this house. It was nicely decorated, had everything you needed including a crockpot (or 2). The furniture and beds were very nice and extremely comfortable. This was a great place to rest and relax after a day of enjoying all of the great things this area has to offer. My husband didn't want to leave to come home!
Loved our stay here in Custer area. House had everything we needed & was tastefully decorated & comfy. Wi-fi was great, however, having Nascar race available on cable TV was fantastic for hubby to relax but I enjoyed sitting on the patio, reading my book & sipping wine. Saw plenty deer walking through the neighborhood & enjoyed coming home & cooking a light meal after spending the day auto touring through Custer State Park & surroundings.
We stayed here for 3 days while we explored the area, and I can't imagine a better place. This lovely house is clean, nicely furnished, roomy and full of amenities. We have been on the road for about 2 weeks and treasured staying in a home vs a hotel. Relaxing after a full day of sightseeing and being able to watch tv and use the internet was a plus. We thought its location was great as we toured Custer State Park, Wind Tunnel NP, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Hill City and Keystone. Can't say enough about the Black Hills, except it is one of the most beautiful places I have seen! I would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend this house to others.
Nice clean condo, plenty of room, quiet area with lots of deer. We would recommend this rental, much better having your own place then staying in a hotel. All the necessary amenities were available. Easy check in/check out. We were very glad we rented this place.
This home was absolutely perfect! There was plenty of space and everything you would need for a weeks stay. The beds were comfortable, the home was spotless and the deer out the back patio were the icing on the cake! We found everything we needed in the kitchen and there were plenty of towels for use in the bathroom. This location was the perfect "starting" point for all our sightseeing. It is really in the middle of all the attractions of the Black Hills. We would definitely stay here again!
Our family had an amazing stay in this home. Our property manager went above and beyond before we even arrived for our stay and she was available during our 11 day visit any time we had a question. Our party consisted of four adults and one small child and there was plenty of space for all of us. Each room was well appointed and we lacked for very little. The beds were very comfortable and sheets clean and soft. Lots of counter space and storage in the master bath. We loved cooking in the kitchen each day and saved a lot of money by not eating out as often. The neighborhood was mostly quiet and we enjoyed watching all the deer outside the back patio. We were also happy for the use of the garage when a hail storm came through and dropped hail for nearly 2 hours. We lost power for an hour too but the large windows in the main living areas provided plenty of light. It was a fantastic and comfortable stay and we'd love to stay here again on our next trip to the Black Hills! Very centrally located to all the activities we had planned during our stay.
Custer itself was a great place to stay with the Dakotamart within a couple miles to stock the kitchen. There was also a Family Dollar for those little necessities. The Bakery on Mt. Rushmore Rd was AMAZING and we got baked goods from there several times. The caramel rolls and homemade sourdough were the best. We also had to unfortunately use the local emergency room at Custer Regional Hospital but the staff there was great and the facility was nice. No one wants to see a doctor on vacation but we were impressed with the staff's knowledge and quickness of treatment and release.
Only downside to us was the single window air conditioning unit in the living room. It kept the living room/kitchen area comfortable in the heat but the bedrooms were warm. The master bath/closet (where the small child slept on the twin bed) was the warmest and had the least air circulation. In the heat of summer it would have been nice to be a little cooler. Still was not so bad that it detracted from our stay. We would still recommend this home to anyone staying in the area.
