Beautiful Studio

This is a lovely unit, very quiet with a fully equipped kichen. The bed is very comfotable and the bathroom has been beautifully remodelled. Look foward to staying here again!

Beautiful mountain redwoods getaway

Cindy and Mike greeted us upon our arrival and asked if we needed anything for our stay. We were there for the annual Half Moon Bay pumpkin festival the weekend we stayed here. Town was very busy so it was nice to get back into the quiet mountain retreat. The place was very clean and well stocked with kitchen and bathroom needs. I would definitely recommend this place.

Peaceful Retreat in the Redwoods

Cindy and Michael were excellent hosts. Their studio was ideally situated in the beautiful redwoods and only 10 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. While the property is attached to a larger rental, it was absolutely private, quiet, and a relaxing retreat from the busy world. The living area is perfect for two people and the kitchen provided everything we needed to prepare meals. Hiking trails were just a 5 minute drive away and Silicon Valley a 35 minute drive. We would highly recommend this property to any couple looking to get away for some peaceful time in the redwoods.

Great spot for redwood retreat

It was private, quiet and peaceful. The creekside view from the private deck was beautiful and calming, enhanced by birdsong during the day and bright stars at night. The studio was cozy and well-appointed, with attention to details like screens for all windows, bedside tables and lamps on both side of bed, and night lights. Due to the location and angle of the skylight, at least when I was there in the spring, the light from the overhead skylight was diffuse until at least 9 am, so by the time there was a bright beam of light I was always up and usually already out. However, the hosts also provided disposable sleep masks if needed. The kitchen was small but complete - gas range and stove, microwave, full size refrigerator. It was a perfect base from which to explore the many nearby county and state parks and beaches. I especially enjoyed hiking in Sam McDonald, Pescadero Creek & Memorial San Mateo County Parks.

A lovely retreat among the redwoods

The photos don't do this studio apartment justice. The first thing I said when I entered the apartment was, "This is perfect for us". It's off the road, tucked among the redwoods. Even though the apartment is attached to the larger house, it's still very private. The entire space inside and out is just wonderful and perfect for two adults. Cynthia and Michael are fabulous hosts and made us feel welcome. They responded to messages within minutes. I really appreciated the signage inside and out with everything labeled clearly throughout. The apartment is clean, well-appointed, and very cozy. It was a pleasure to return to after a day of sightseeing and adventures. It is well stocked with linens and towels in the walk-in closet. The separate kitchen had all of the utensils and appliances we needed. The bathroom has a very large shower and is stocked with everything including first aid items, hair dryer, and conditioner. The deck overlooks a stream and is equipped with a grill, table, and bench. Perfect for a grilled dinner outside or just relaxing. There are parks and hiking trails within minutes. It's 10 minutes from the beach, 15 minutes from Alice's Restaurant, and about 30 minutes from Half Moon Bay.

A lovely retreat

The property is beautiful; the home is well-appointed, clean, and has everything we needed for a weekend away; and the hosts were friendly, considerate, and welcoming. We had a wonderful time staying here and look forward to returning some day. The only tip I'd share with future travelers is to bring an eye mask if you like to sleep in. The skylight over the bed gives you an amazing view of the stars but also lets the early morning light in!

Wonderful Stay

My wife and I had a wonderful and restful weekend. We stayed for our 26th anniversary. The studio is perfect for two, very clean, and stocked with the essentials. There is a bird feeder on the porch that attracts little finches, which made coffee in the morning all the more enjoyable. The owners Cindy and Michael were very accommodating, and are clearly interested in their guests having a quality stay. La Honda has a small market and a local restaurant about 1 mile away. If you didn't bring it, you can find it close by. We will definitely be back. It was a great get away.

A wonderful stay in the redwoods

We had a lovely time at Cynthia and Michael’s studio. They were the perfect hosts and the studio is very well laid out. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the patio after a hike and watching the chickadees at the bird feeder.

A Perfect Studio Getaway!

Family visiting week

The studio suite in the woods of La Honda was just beautiful. I enjoyed opening the door and windows in the morning to hear the birds and the creek. Cindy and Michael could not have been more helpful and the studio was so clean and comfortable.

Peaceful Retreat in Nature

This is a lovely small studio, well equipped, with a great deck overlooking San Gregorio Creek. The owners are very helpful, but the overall feeling is very private. The access to hiking and open space, both in the hills and at the coastal beaches, is excellent. It was a great place for a one person retreat and would also be lovely for a couple who wants a comfortable setting in nature with access to the out of doors..

A peaceful retreat in the redewoods

We rented this space for our esteemed teacher who was visiting from Hawaii and teaching at nearby YMCA Camp Loma Mar. The owners were very kind and helpful, and the place itself is clearly a labor of love - hand built by the owners! Comfy, immaculate, and serene. You will be happy here if you like peace and quiet and nature. I would definitely come back again!!!!

Comfortable and quiet

We enjoyed our 3 night stay a great deal. Unit is set up well. Could use a few more kitchen items like spatula, can opener, and serving spoons. We like to cook in, so this matters to us, but maybe not to many others. Kitchenette was otherwise well equipped. Studio is very clean and fresh. We would definitely stay here again.

Cozy, clean getaway perfectly located for exploring La Honda and Half Moon Bay!

We spent two nights at this cozy, clean studio and we had a great experience. The studio had everything you need for a weekend getaway (fully stocked kitchen, nice outdoor deck). Would highly recommend.
