Este recientemente renovado (2018) casa de huéspedes cuenta con todas las comodidades del hogar como: una cocina bien equipada, chimenea de gas, baldosas de calor radiante en el baño, bañera de hidromasaje, wifi, lavadora y secadora y abundante espacio en el armario. Camina, juega al golf o al tenis en el parque al otro lado de la calle o camina / ande en bicicleta por senderos de montaña en el acceso de 7 millas a River Road con poco tráfico. Durante el verano y el otoño, los peces, las canoas o los tubos del famoso río Battenkill se encuentran a solo 300 yardas de la cubierta posterior. Esta ubicación de Arlington abre todo lo que el sur de Vermont tiene para ofrecer a solo 11 millas al Manchester Village y menos de 25 minutos a las montañas Bromley y Stratton.

Everything excellent except for parking. Next time we will bring our smaller car and should have no problem. (It was a little tight getting past two cars and narrow driveway to where we needed to park.) That said, definitely not a show stopper. One of the cleanest and well-equipped rentals we've every stayed in. Kudos to them for putting so much thought into the place.

Everything was in excellent condition. I made the reservation on short notice and they had it quickly ready for me. I enjoyed the fireplace as well as the hot tub. I am safety conscious and I was happy to find out that they had a window escape ladder since the bedroom was upstairs with only one exit.

Beautiful Vermont cottage with incredible views

My partner and I stayed at the cottage for a long weekend to visit Vermont for the first time and it was beautiful. John and Anne were great hosts and even surprised us with great local treats when we first arrived in the house. The views off of the back deck were stunning. The place was conveniently located to restaurants, stores and lots of trails. We can’t wait to visit again!

Hidden Gem in Southern Vermont

In a word, the Trout House is special. My girlfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful time staying here for a long weekend. The cottage is as advertised, and John and Anne are warm and welcoming hosts. If you are looking for a stay that embodies that quaint Vermont charm, look no further.

It was so relaxing and beautiful. We loved watching the sun come up over the hills sipping coffee and eating doughnuts the host left for us. The field below is beautiful and there are cows! They came close one morning and I woke up to their mooing, I thought it was so peaceful. The house is gorgeous, I loved the windows and the deck and hot tub were spectacular for star gazing! The host was so kind and checked in several times. Overall it was a lovely stay, very peaceful.

Refreshing stay in southern Vermont

Loved spending a weekend away here. Started the day on the deck watching the cows enjoy breakfast while I did the same. Then we explored the area before coming back and enjoying the hot tub and watching the clouds roll in to usher in dusk. Would highly recommend this property. Private, quiet, and very peaceful

Fabulous cottage!

Scenic, tranquil retreat in quintessential New England

We thoroughly enjoyed the New England experience of the area. The beauty of the view from the cottage and deck is wonderful and the proximity to the Battenkill River is great. The cottage is rustic, but lovely, with a wonderful, modern kitchen and bath. The area is steeped in history as well as beauty. We loved our time in the Arlington, Bennington, Manchester area and are looking forward to returning.

Comfort and Charm

This property is a comfortable oasis in a beautiful location. It has great views and a great walkable in town location. The cottage has everything you need for a weekend getaway or extended stay. I was here for a family wedding nearby and this place was perfect. I especially appreciated the thoughtfulness of the host in providing an enticing sample of local goodies. The hot tub was a welcome bonus. I would very much enjoy staying here again.

Vermont getaway

Great place to stay while we navigated the many challenging hiking trails within the area. Our host John was more than helpful to direct us and suggest places to hike and places to eat. The view from the deck was beautiful and sunsets awesome. All the the little treats left for us were more than welcomed. The place was great for a week getaway, clean and welcoming. A special thank you to John for checking to make sure we had no issues and everything was good! Definitely recommend this place.

Lovely cottage in Southern Vermont

We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights and we had a wonderful time. John, the owner, was gracious and hospitable. The cottage is just as pictured on the website. We felt at home as soon as we entered, and were delighted to find local treats in the fridge, along with some amazing coffee. There is so much to see and do in the Manchester area; bikiing, hiking, museums.... and we had a wonderful time at the Dead of Summer Music Festival. We very much recommend this property.

Arlington Cottage

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay at John and Anne’s cottage. We received a warm welcome from John who was readily available should we have any questions. The cottage was extremely comfortable and we loved having the wide expanse of all the windows, both upstairs and down! The location was perfect and the view from the back deck stunning. John and Anne raised their kids in Arlington and have been active members of the community since 2000. They are outdoors oriented and know the area well especially the parks, rivers and streams and are happy to share their knowledge and love of this beautiful Vermont hamlet.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We discovered this special valley tucked-in between the Green and Tacomic mountain ranges while venturing out from Boston to chase trout in the mid - 90s. We just fell in love with the river, valley, history and peacefulness of this place and decided to make it our home.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Norman Rockwell, Robert Frost and many other composers, Hollywood producers, etc. have gravitated to this special place over the years. We think, like us, you will love your time here.

The property is on the national register of historic places and was built in 1861. While in a historic village, the guest house provides tremendous privacy and overlooks a horse pasture, the Battenkill river and Taconic mountain range. It's really the best of both worlds.
