About Steve McComb

We live next door to the cabin in the main house. The cabin has been on the property for about 50 years, hunters used to come up and stay in the cabin to hunt. The area is called Moose Meadows. When we bought the property the cabin was just a shell and we have been working on it for about 8 years. We put in a bathroom, kitchen cabinets, flooring and insulation in the ceiling. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.

Steve McComb purchased this cabin in 1992

Perfect Montana Setting

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Steve's cabin in the wood. It's even better than the pictures show. Peaceful setting and comfortable accommodations. One of my best VRBO experiences!

Very clean quiet cabin away from it all

  • 5 of 5

Although in whitefish, this sparkling clean cabin is in the country away from traffic and noise. Deer and bear walk the property. Steve the owner was very kind and helpful, with suggestions, but at the same time we hardly knew he was there. His house is 75 feet away but they were very quiet and we hadn't heard a peep from them. Tally Lake a few miles, whitefish 15-20 mins and Kailspell is only a 25 min drive. The east side entrance of glacier national park was about 2.5 hours the west much closer. Sushi the cat came to visit she was very sweet and playful. Everything in the cabin was so clean, the waffle maker and mix was a money saver and time saver. We made waffles in a few mins every morning before heading out the door. Thanks for the rental Steve, and if we ever come back to visit, we'll stay here again!

Fabulous Get Away

  • 5 of 5

First of all, this place is way off the beaten path, which is exactly what we were looking for! The host Steve was very helpful (but not intrusive) and a great source for information about the area. We loved his cat Sushi. ( a great mouser) The cabin itself was awesome and spacious. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We loved having the wood stove to heat the cabin and it did a great job. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with basic spices and dishes/pots and pans for cooking as well as waffle mix for our convenience. We absolutely loved this place and hope to come again next year.

Perfect Escape from it all

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed here from Aug 31st - Sept 2nd, 2018. The cabin is settled next to the owners Gorgeous Log home, and on 20 acres over looking the mountains out back. His yard and property is absolutely gorgeous.

Cabin perfectly clean when we arrived. Mini fridge with some condiments as well as a waffle iron with the mix available for breakfast in the morning. Our kids enjoyed this so much.

We went down to Talley lake, yet another massive, beautiful lake to explore. Steve also provided us with fishing poles in order to fish, very nice of him.

We had a lovely 2 days here and had great conversation with the owner, Steve. He’s one of the nicest people we’ve met so far during our vacation. We will come back to his place in the future and recommend to friends. 5/5 stars all around.

Excellent, peaceful stay

  • 5 of 5

Great experience, the only slight disappointment was how tiny the shower stall was. Otherwise, nice bed, nice little kitchen, living room area, and awesome setting. Great deal for the money. Would stay again.

Secluded and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin is spacious, not cluttered with a lot of useless stuff. The owner is very helpful and quick to answer any questions. The property is secluded and quiet. We even borrowed fishing poles and went down to his neighbors pond and caught gar! Whitefish is only 20mins down the road and west GNP entrance 45-50mins away! Very clean, comfortable and inviting.
