About Steve McComb

We live next door to the cabin in the main house. The cabin has been on the property for about 50 years, hunters used to come up and stay in the cabin to hunt. The area is called Moose Meadows. When we bought the property the cabin was just a shell and we have been working on it for about 8 years. We put in a bathroom, kitchen cabinets, flooring and insulation in the ceiling. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.

Steve McComb purchased this cabin in 1992

Why Steve McComb chose Whitefish Lake Area

Property is bordered with state and forest service land with miles of gravel road and trails. Very quiet and peaceful setting. Fishing on Tally Lake you may catch rainbow, brook, cutthroat trout, kokanee and northern pike. Tally Lake is 445 feet deep.

What makes this cabin unique

Close to Glacier National Park, Whitefish, Kalispell, Flathhead Lake and Tally Lake. Miles of trails for biking, 4 wheeling or horseback riding. In the winter months snow machine and cross country skiing.

We couldn't have ask for a better place to stay on our vacation to Glacier. The cabin was beautiful everything anyone could ask for. The property surrounding the cabin was breathtaking. It was close to Glacier National Park. Now to mention the owner Steve McComb he was wonderful anything you needed he was there with it. He made our stay even better....Steve is a very nice guy wants you to be confortable and feel like your at home. He would stop over to see if we needed anything made suggestions of great places to eat we honestly felt like we new him forever. What a hidden gem not to mention a great owner and a new friend. Thank you sooo much for making our vacation more then we could have imagined. Your new friends,Terri and Ernie Lindley

Gorgeous lofted cabin well appointed in a quiet location close enough to Whitefish.

  • 5 of 5

The owner Steve was more than hospitable and the charm of the cabin was exactly the experience we were looking for. 45 minute drive to Glacier and less than 15 minutes into Whitefish. Steve was a great host and we loved meeting him as well.

We loved it !!

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyed our 5 days at the cabin "away from it all" but yet close enough to drive out every day to see the great sites of Glacier National Park, National Bison Range, scenic drive of "Going To the Sun" road. Not only is it conveniently located but has a great owner that lives close by to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay . We made instant friends with the owner, Steve and feel blessed to have shared his little piece of the beautiful state of Montana!! Thanks, Your new found friends from Texas, The Murphy's

Nice Retreat

  • 5 of 5

It is a beautiful cabin nestled in the woods. I would definitely encourage anyone who stays at this cabin to take the short drive up the road to Tally Lake. Steve is a lovely host.

Peaceful, relaxing retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Steve's place was absolutely wonderful! Steve wasn't there to greet us but called and made sure that we had everything we needed. The cabin was very charming and extremely clean. We used the BBQ and cooked in the kitchen (which was well equipped). Steve's property is in a very quiet, secluded area but is just a short 15 minute drive to Whitefish. It was very nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the town and return to the cabin at night. Overall, we had an amazing experience and we hope to return next year!
