'Wilderness Feel' describes this 3 Bedroom cabin fully outfitted for comfort!
Welcome to the beautiful Flathead Valley and Glacier Park regions. We know you will have a wonderful experience and create lasting memories when you visit this spectacular corner of the country. Our cabin is located on the Flathead River (the river is 30 feet from the front deck) and ideally located between Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake. We’re a short drive to Whitefish, Columbia Falls, downtown Kalispell, and a quick 10 minutes to Glacier Park International Airport. This cabin and surrounding property is the ideal location for a restful retreat and use as a home base for adventures and days of exploring.
The Cabin: The views from the cabin are simply stunning; guests love the sight of serene Flathead River, the majestic Columbia Mountain Range, and the ever present wildlife. You are guaranteed to see deer, eagles, turkeys, and the occasional bear. The entire east side of the cabin is windows - a sliding glass door leads to a beautiful deck for hosting outdoor dinners in the summer and year-round stargazing . An open kitchen, dining and living area is perfect for entertaining and gatherings with loved ones. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you will need to craft the perfect meal – cookware, small appliances, plating for 8, and much more. The comfortable living area is the ideal for getting cozy with a book, playing board games, or merely soaking in the view. A large master bedroom encompasses the loft with a king bed, a sitting area nook, and water closet. Two cozy bedrooms located on the main floor include queen beds. The main bathroom contains a corner shower and is stocked with plush towels and a hair dryer. A utility room, also on the main floor, contains a washer, dryer, ironing board, and iron. This lovely cabin was constructed in early 2014 therefore the amenities are fresh, new, and ready for you to use.
The Property: A one mile drive on a gravel road through the country will lead you to the cabin. The river boarders the east of the property, and we’ve kept the river side of our property open with a few tall trees for shade. Our property is kept natural and is not overly manicured – we love our connection with nature! The remainder of the property has a couple outbuildings for storage, and is covered with tall spruce and cottonwood trees. Guests are welcome to fish along certain sections of the riverbank or use property as a put in or take out location for river float and fishing trips. Our location is an unspoiled place to retreat and relax to after a fun day of exploring all the region has to offer.
Recreation: Nearby recreational opportunities are endless! Guests have close and easy access to hiking, skiing (all forms), fly fishing, sport fishing, mountain biking, cycling, rock climbing, sight-seeing, bird watching, boating, whitewater rafting, and the list goes on and on. The cabin is fully stocked with games, movies, and books. A fire pit for story-telling, marshmallow roasting and stargazing is available nearly year round. The river is wild, cold, and unpredictable therefore swimming is never encouraged or recommended.

About Glenda D. Brown
Robert and I have lived here on the Flathead River for 30 years in the A-frame built in the '70's. I grew up in the Valley, attending Evergreen Elementary till 8th grade, and Robert is a transplant from southern Idaho. We both attended FVCC, and he graduated valedictorian in the first class of land surveyors, and is still surveying here in the Valley after a 12 year hiatus in Alaska. My family has been here in the Valley since the 1920's, with each generation moving away (or being moved away!) and coming back, irresistibly drawn by the unforgettable loveliness of this Valley. I am excited to meet the people who want to experience our Valley and enjoy it's riches! You are welcome here.

Why Glenda D. Brown chose Kalispell
We just finished building this Amish cabin 200 feet from our 'A Frame' home, to share the lovely serenity of this place with travelers. When we bought this property, the realtor kept saying, 'They don't make places like this any more...!' and he was right. This is a unique property for your complete rest and relaxation, combined with as much adventure as you want to pack into your time here! The owners nearby give you the opportunity for fast answers to questions about things to do, places to go, ... or complete privacy, as you choose!
What makes this Cabin unique
'Wilderness' eight miles from two city centers is a huge benefit I enjoy about this property. I used to drive 45 miles into the 'Swan' to visit friends, and I have the same feel here, so close to town. Though one neighbor is in sight of this cabin, the Louisiana owners are seldom there, so, privacy combined with close proximity to all the attractions make this a special place. (Owner's property is 200 ft. away, screened by trees.)

Great place to reconnect
We loved staying at Rainbows End when we visited our son who moved to Kalispell. The cabin was comfortable, convenient and had everything we needed. We chose this place because it allowed pets and we were able to have my son and his dog stay with us during our visit which was what we were looking for. The views of the river and the mountains were awesome. Thanks so much!
These folks were a joy to host! Thanks for choosing Rainbow's End, and perhaps we will see you again!
Home away from home !
First off, Glenda was such a great host. Our trip started with a rental car issue that landed us stuck at the airport for a couple hours. Glenda called and offered to pick us up at the airport AND take us back the next morning to get our car. She was more than happy to help.
To top off the trip, the cabin was so cozy! The views were stunning to wake up to with our morning coffee! Also, the BBQ on the deck made for enjoyable evenings! We are looking forward to visit again (as well as seeing the dog jake!! )
Fabulous cabin. Perfect escape for our family for a few days. All the comforts of home with a great view too. Several friends have asked for the details after having seen our photos too!
A Wonderful Family Vacation
Rainbow's End was a beautifully located winter vacation spot for our family of five; great accommodations and comfortable surroundings. Our family of five, soon to become a family of six, may eventually return for a summer vacation as well! We thoroughly enjoyed our time together!! Rainbow's End is a wonderful place to get-away to!
Lovely family that was a blessing to host! They are certainly welcome any time!
Beautiful, Cozy, Perfect!
Glenda's Rainbows End Cabin is fantastic! The location is perfect and the view breathtaking. We were a family of 5 adults, 1 large dog, and 1 small dog and there was ample room for all of us. The cabin has everything you need and more as Glenda has thought of everything. We were somewhat snowed in but not a problem as there was a great selection of games, DVDs, and books. Oh and lots of music to choose from too. Our daughter needed to be back to work a day early so my husband and I left with her. My son and his fiancé needed to board the train in Whitefish the next morning and Glenda and her husband offered to take them to the depot. We were so grateful they did and we all arrived home safely. Glenda is the perfect host and we hope to stay in the summer or fall in the future.
Perfect Christmas Vacation Home!
We brought our family here for our first Christmas away from home & I would now spend every Christmas there if we could!!! The house was incredibly warm & cozy - we felt at home the moment we walked in. We have 2 small kids (15mo & 3yrs) & the house was set up so well for small children. Our chocolate lab was in heaven. The pictures don’t do the setting of the cabin justice!!! The name is perfect: The End of the Rainbow. Although “Narnia” or even “Heaven on Earth” would also do. Having small kids & also having it be below 10 degrees, I spent a ton of time in the cabin, so I really loved every minute. So thankful that Glenda & her husband share this cabin they built with others. I hope we get out there again & are able to stay here!!! My husband just told me that maybe I shouldn’t write such a good review because he wants to make sure that no one tries to book it next Christmas 😂... But we LOVED this place & I can’t help myself:) It was absolutely perfect.
To find our property, if you have GPS, put in either Kalispell or Columbia Falls, MT - (you might want to get groceries at the Super One on Hwy 2). About 6 miles, you'll come to Glacier Park International Airport, cont. south through the stop light to the next stop light on Birch Grove by Jagzs Restaurant and Cowgirl Coffee. Turn EAST go to 1/2 mile to the next road to the SOUTH (not marked, but it is Helena Flats). Go 1.5 miles to intersection and turn EAST onto Eid Ln. Go 1/4 mile to end of pavement, turn SOUTH onto Goodrich Rd. (gravel). The sign is faded, but it is there on the corner by 9-10 mail boxes. You'll go 1/4 mile then the road turns to the left for another 1/2 mile to a blind corner. There is a mirror by the birch tree, with red ribbons and gold bells hanging by it - check the mirror then proceed around the corner slowly - it may be icy. Cross the bridge and go 1/4 mile to another 't' with brick and iron fence, with wreaths hung on it - turn LEFT and pass one house on the right. Take the NEXT driveway to the RIGHT - there is an arrow on a fish on the tree pointing to the Rainbow's End! So many choices! Because our cabin is centrally located, I took the liberty of expanding the '15 minutes from....' to 'within 30 minutes of....' in all directions! Experience memorable white water rafting on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River with a gourmet dinner served on a gravel bar. Try your hand at horseback riding along mountain trails, or on a chuck wagon with dinner served. Plan to be here in August for the County Fair, with livestock, home grown and canned goodies, and rodeo every evening. See who can ride the bulls the full 8 seconds! If water sports are your joy, try the water bumper cars in Coram, or the water slides in Columbia Falls. Mountain bike riding on Whitefish Mountain is a challenge, with many more miles of trails scattered throughout the Valley. Whitefish Mountain also has thrilling zip lines to enjoy. Challenge yourself to ride with the front pack of bikers to finish the 100 mile Huckleberry 100 and finish in roughly 5 hours! For something unexpected so far north, tour the micro-breweries, find the whiskey and vodka distilleries, and sip wine at a winery south of Lakeside along Flathead Lake. Matchless majestic scenery is available to those who choose to hike Glacier Park trails, or hire horses to ride into the wilderness areas nearby. There is no end to the outdoor activities available to the adventurous. Welcome!
