Incredible views and sunsets! Easy check-in, well appointed kitchen, lovely deck for outdoor eating. Ryan is a great host - showed us around on arrival, checked in unobtrusively to make sure we had everything we need. Great getaway from the Cal Poly parents weekend crowds, and the price was much more manageable than the ridiculously marked up downtown properties. It’s only 20-25 minutes from campus and there are great shops at the base of the mountain to stock up on the way. Plus, nobody else has such a friendly giant tortoise. We look forward to returning!

Wonderful stay with Ryan and Bourbon & Cider! Ryan was super communicative and let us know the road to the property was closed and what to expect. The property is beautiful and really peaceful. Loved the views. And last but certainly not least, Bourbon and Cider are the perfect hosts, and we’re really sweet with our dog. Recommend staying with Ryan 100%!

We had a perfect short getaway with our dogs. This property is breathtaking. There is view from every room. Ryan, the host made sure we had everything for our stay. We loved getting visits from Bourbon and Whiskey, and Walter the Tortoise. Check in was completely seamless.

As a hospitality professional I was extremely impressed by Ryan and his pups Bourbon and Cider’s levels of care. It was an amazing stay, wish I could’ve stayed longer but this is a definite gem I’ll be revisiting time and time again. Walter the tortoise and all the amazing scenery is all my girlfriend could talk about. Do yourself a favor and stay up there if you’re in the SLO area.

The host was very kind and welcoming! The house was exactly what we needed and the view is spectacular! Great for bird watching, plus feeding the tortoise and playing with the dogs with a hit with the kids!

- Pictures don't do justice to the views from the house - hills, extinct volcanoes, wildflowers, the ocean.- Gracious, communicative host.- Relaxed animals at the VRBO and we got to see deer, cows, birds of prey, rabbits, etc.- Better than advertized and we'd easily stay again.- We went to get away from 4th of July fireworks. We didn't hear one the whole weekend so great for people/animals looki g for some quiet.

Loved this stay. Perfect for a getaway with a beautiful view. and the dogs are so cute!Fair warning, be prepared for a winding drive up the mountain (12-15 mins just to get up or down).

This was a gem of a place. The property was gorgeous, the accommodations were comfortable and clean and the host, Ryan, was really great. We loved chatting with him and getting a tour of the place and his pups, Bourbon and Cider were soooo sweet. Our kids especially loved feeding Walter and visiting the chickens. Highly recommend staying here!

We had wonderful week stay at Irish Hills House. The panoramic views were absolutely amazing and the surroundings so peaceful. It was the perfect getaway. Ryan was a great host and Bourbon, Cider and Walter were a joy! Ryan provided many recommendations for local hiking and restaurants and was available whenever needed.Irish Hills House was very comfortable and had everything we needed to feel at home. The views were absolutely amazing! The house was great, had everything we needed and being super dog friendly was great. Greeted by Ryan when we arrived with suggested areas which was amazing. There is a dog friendly beach which was perfect.
