Great little stop for the night with friends. The guidebook the hosts make is so thoughtful and useful. FYI—It’s very hard to find at night! But fine in the light.
I’m disappointed by this review because it does not accurately reflect what occurred.
The reservation was made for the wrong dates. I personally spent 15–20 minutes with the guest while they reviewed their reservation so they could confirm that the dates had been entered incorrectly.
Despite the booking error not being on our end, I made every effort to help. I offered the guest the opportunity to return after the other reservation at a discounted rate, offered to waive the cleaning fee, and even contacted the cleaning company to rearrange their schedule so the guest could take their time packing and leaving.
During our conversation, the guest also expressed how much they enjoyed the property and that they wanted to stay longer. Given the circumstances and the efforts I made to accommodate them, I believe this review is unfair and does not accurately represent the experience or the service I provided.
I understand that mistakes happen, but I believe it is important for future guests to know that we will always do our best to help resolve an issue—even when the issue is outside of our control.
This property is in Thomaston. The location is central to the following locations:Mt. BattieRocklandRockportOwls Head LighthouseHarrison Point LighthousePemaquid Point LighthouseRockland Breakers LighthouseCamdenTwo gas stations are within a mile of the property. Walmart is within 3 miles. Great location. We even went to Boothbay Harbor and Ocean Point which was 1 hour drive. Nice hot showers. Full kitchen. As advertised.
Very comfortable and convenient location. Super comfortable beds and living room furniture. Host was very quick to clean up the snow that fell overnight!
Nice, clean, new interior. Deck with grill. 2 bedroom. No coffee maker but there is a kerig. I took coffee grounds, they had k-cups fortunately. Well stocked kitchen except for wine glasses. Laundry and dryer with detergent supplied. Close to Rockland and stores. Host communication was quick. We had no issues and had a nice stay. We would come back again.
This cozy standalone house with two bedrooms, an eat-in kitchen, living room, and bathroom was a comfortable place to spend a summer evening in early August in Thomaston. The property is away from town, but not distant so long as you have a car. Google Maps will give you a weird route getting here, so look at the map and take the short route rather than looping around the unnecessarily long way. I was a bit concerned upon arrival that the place only had a single window AC unit, but it quickly cooled the place down so my worry was misplaced. The morning that we departed it was raining steadily, and the door to enter the place is directly beneath the down-sloping roof, and there's neither a gutter nor any other covering to stop the runoff from the roof drenching you when you step through the door. There's plenty of parking, and the unit is in good repair and well-furnished.
We had a wonderful weeklong stay while visiting family and friends in the area. We had everything we needed, and even started saying "we're going home" when leaving family. We never waited longer than 10 minutes for a reply from Jason. Everything was new, efficient, clean, and comfortable. Situated close to route 1 was especially convenient. The bedrooms on the back of the unit were cozy and quiet for sleeping. Morning coffee on the deck in the chairs was a delight. We will definitely stay again, hopefully it will be available!
Clean. Close to pretty much everything I needed. My granddaughter met some children there that were good kids. She had a great time and asked if we could rent it next time I come up from Florida. Will rent again.
