About Ali McDowell

We were recently introduced to the Grand Lake area and fell in love with it. So we decided to pursue the dream of owning our own cabin and making it available for others to rent. We are an extended family ownership from the Northern Colorado area. The peaceful, serene location of this cabin is what we have fallen in love with.

Ali McDowell purchased this cabin in 2013

Fantastic Lake Home. Wonderful Stay.

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough great things about this lakeside home. The house was clean upon our arrival and well stocked with clean towels, dishes, kitchen utensils, etc. Everything was in working order. Ali provided us with excellent directions and all the information needed to access the house and its amenities prior to our arrival. She also provided a prompt refund of our security deposit after our stay.

The home was very comfortable. All together we had six adults and four children for a three night stay. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kids absolutely loved sleeping in the lofts at night. There was a paddle boat, two canoes and a kayak available for guest use on the lake. The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is less than 5 minutes down the road. There are also bikes available for guests to use.

If I had one suggestion to future guests it would be to bring a double sided kayak paddle if you plan on doing a bit of kayaking on the lake. Paddles are provided but they are one sided canoe paddles. I find the two sided kind more comfortable in a single person kayak. But that could just be me :)

We had a wonderful time and cannot thank the homeowners enough for granting us access to their beautiful home. We plan on another visit in the near future!

Wonderful family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely wonderful family getaway! Plenty of room and comfort in this lovely and cozy cabin home, including fun lofts for the grandkids. Mother and child moose sighting early on the first morning. Beautiful mountain views and a quiet little lake. Plenty of elk sightings in and out of the nearby national park. Horseback riding only a short walk away. Amazing number of stars visible at night. Wish we could have stayed longer...

Everything we were hoping for!

  • 5 of 5

The house was incredibly comfortable with more than enough room for our family of 4. The log cabin style and decorating enhanced the experience of being in the woods and mountains. The peaceful lake view both from in the house and the dock was amazing. We enjoyed hanging out both inside and outside the house as well as hiking in the park and visiting the cute town of Grand Lake. Lots of wildlife. Initially, we were hoping to stay closer to the Estes Park side of RMNP but would return to the Grand Lake side and this house in a second. Much busier and touristy on the other side. Wish we were still there.

Wow! This was our second time vacationing here at Mountain Song and we saw even MORE wildlife this week than we did the last time we stayed here! I didn't think that was possible! We had a wonderful time making precious memories.

The owners are absolutely fabulous to work with and do all they can to be accommodating. They have done a wonderful job to provide everything you need to enjoy this place to it's fullest!

I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a restful and peaceful place to enjoy God's creation with friends and family.

Great Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cabin in a great location! The cabin was very nicely decorated, felt warm and cozy and was stocked with everything you could possibly need. Really enjoyed our beautiful lake view!

We saw a lot of wildlife just off of the back porch. A moose came trotting by the cabin one afternoon, saw elk and even a bald eagle perched at the top of a tree.
