Celebrated my 40th birthday in Grand Lake, CO. Heather went above an beyond and was more than accommodating. She even had a birthday basket set up upon arrival with candles, balloons, and ingredients for smores! The house was clean, and LOVED the fact it has 2 washers and 2 dryers for our big family to utilize. There were plenty of blankets, fans in every room, and an endless supply of firewood. The hot tub was a God send, especially after a 16 mile hike! Loved the kayaks, paddle boat and fishing gear. The kids had a blast catching trout on the lake off the dock! Thank you Heather!
This is a great property. Very close to Grand Lake and to a lot of hiking trails. Heather was incredibly helpful. She quickly answered any questions we had and kept us informed of what was happening in the area. Highly recommend this property and host!
The Norh Star Lodge was a perfect home for our large extended family ranging from a 2 and 4 year old to age 72 and all in between. Plenty of bedrooms and living space -- lower level game room was a hit with the teens, spacious deck overlooking th private lake and mountains beyond with hot tub and fireplace a hit with everyone for relaxing and star gazing, large kitchen area/fireplace/dining table for full family meals and gathering, and the dock right on the private lake was a real treat for the fishermen who enjoyed watching the rainbow trout sneak up on their bait for a catch (and release). The little girls enjoyed the large playhouse with its own deck and child-sized picnic table (a surprise as we didn't see it listed among amenities). So much to do! All the beds and furniture were clean and comfortable, and kitchen nicely planned with a variety of useful small appliances and plenty of dishes. Alas, ran out of time to enjoy the steam shower - -but hope to be back! Very convenient to the entry to Rocky Mountain National Park. I should note there was some construction in the area (presumably rebuilding after the fires some years ago), but nothing that interrupted our peaceful and enjoyable time in his lovely mountain retreat, Finally and importantly, host Heather was extremely responsive to all our questions both before and during the trip, for which we remain very appreciative.
Although this area was deeply affected by the 2020 Troublesome Fire, it remains a truly magical place. The landscape continues to recover and regenerate, and it's inspiring to see nature rebuilding each day. What we enjoyed most was waking up every morning to breathtaking views and having the freedom to paddle board or fish whenever we wanted. We had the pleasure of seeing Moose (cow & calf) return to the area daily. The house was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for family meals, game nights, puzzles, movie watching, and simply spending quality time together. Grand Lake is less than 10 minutes away, offering great shopping, dining, and plenty of family-friendly activities. One week wasn't long enough!
The most incredible property!! Clean, spacious, great views— exactly as described. Heather was very communicative months out, the week of, and during our stay. Went above and beyond. 10/10 would stay again
This is such an amazing place for a family get together or couples retreat. The cabin is beautiful, wonderfully stocked with a deck that overlooks a private lake. Our family enjoyed fishing, pedal boating, an outdoor fireplace, grill and hot tub. We had plenty to do inside and out and left with many precious memories!
My family of 8 and I stayed at Heather’s property for 3 days and it was an incredible experience! The place is perfect for a quiet mountain getaway, and Heather is a very responsive and friendly host! Would absolutely recommend a stay at North Star.

Vishali- thank you so much for choosing to stay at North Star and thank you for your kind review!
Beautiful property! Clean house, gracious host, perfect for our family of 9 adults. We got out on the water with the paddle boat, kayaks, paddle boards, even in the rain. It was a lovely place to hang out with family, grill, sit on porch in the mornings with coffee, see the moose, watch the clouds move through the mountains. Hot tub was great in the evenings! We had a wonderful trip!
We really enjoyed our stay near Grand Lake. There are many perks the owner includes such as toiletries, cooking spices, etc. Communication was quick and easy. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching a mama moose come down to the lake with her calf. Being close to RMNP entrance was nice
Wonderful accommodations, clean and fully equipped with anything you may need. Host was available at all times- very pleasant and helpful. I recommend this lodge 100%.

I'm so glad you had such a fun weekend, Cody! Come back anytime!
This home is perfect for multi generation families. Plenty of room to spread out and not be on top of one another. The lower level was perfect for the kids to play games while the adults enjoyed spectacular views from the main floor and oversized deck. Everything was as pictured and we even saw a moose across the lake! Would definitely recommend this place and Heather was great to work with.
Our group had a wonderful weekend at the house—gorgeous location, wonderful amenities, great communication. We hiked, kayaked, used the hot tub and steam room, cooked, enjoyed the fireplace, and got good work done. Would definitely return again!

Thanks so much for being such a delightful guest, Jay, and would love to host you again!
My family and friends had a wonderful time at the North Star Lodge. Truly a stunning location, just minutes from Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park. Heather (the host) was very communicative and provided a ton of useful information and tips to make our stay even better. I would highly recommend this host and property.
This home was cozy and beautifully decorated. It worked well for a large family trip. Located right next to RMNP, we had several opportunities to see moose and elk. We would definitely come back!

Loved hosting you, Kristyn- thanks so much for staying with us!
We loved our visit! Ages ranged from 6 months to 87 years. The area right outside the cabin was perfect for sledding with our 4, 6, and 8 year olds. We enjoyed sitting around the fire at night. Heather was responsive, kind, and thoughtful in all her communications.
