Sadie's Place i Old Orchard Beach

Dejligt og komfortabelt strandhus, to blokke fra stranden. Dette har været hjem for fire generationer af Thompson-familien, og er opkaldt til Bens bedstemor Sadie. Med to soveværelser med dronning senge, et børneværelse med en køjeseng og en enkelt oppustelig seng, og en nedenunder hule med sovesofa, vil det komfortabelt sove seks voksne og 3 eller 4 børn.

Front lukket veranda til at slappe af om morgenen til morgenmad, eller efter stranden og en ryg gårdhave med picnic bord og grill til lejere brug.

Møbleret med alle køkkenbehov, papirvarer, vaskemaskine og tørretumbler og endda en hummerkande. Sengetøj og håndklæder til rådighed for et gebyr. Det eneste du skal medbringe, er ethvert børneudstyr, du måtte have brug for.

Location was wonderful, short walk to the beach, shops, playground and basketball courts. House was fully stocked with all your needs, including beach towels and beach chairs. The grocery store was just around the corner a short drive to shop for your stay. Would definitely stay again if available.

Outstanding from start to finish! The space, the location, the front porch alone was a huge hit! Will absolutely look to bring the family back to this house! Close to everything, super clean, 2 full baths…can’t think of one thing we could have asked for differently!

This was the perfect place for 4 kiddos, 2 moms and 2 grandparents. The place is well equipped for cooking. Lots of extra towels, bed linens, and anything else we needed, including beach chairs, umbrellas and boogey boards. We hope to return next year! The host is great and made us feel very welcome.

What a wonderful spot, close enough to walk right into the action just a few blocks from the beach and pier but still quietfor a relaxing not around the fire or getting kids to bed. We were met at the property to have any questions answered and the owner was very responsive during the stay. The house had everything we needed either to cook a nice meal or go to the beach. My father even accidentally left a stack of cash behind that the cleaning staff found and the owner quickly sent us a check for. We definitely hope to stay there again!

Amazing spot!

We had amazing time at the property. The house was so cute and close to everything and exactly as advertised. It's a five minute walk to the beach, shopping, ice cream, pizza, mini golf and you get a great view of the fireworks on Thursday nights from the house.

Best Vacation

The house was far more spacious than we realized from the online photots. The location was perfect. Every we needed was just a short walk away but the house still felt quiet and private.

We had a great week. Lots of beach and amusement park time. Ben was very helpful with letting us know things like where the most convenient grocery store was and anything we needed to know about the house. There were plenty of housewares in the home we We were able to love in and not worry about a thing

Best Place to Be!

We spent the 4th of July week at Sadies Place and it was excellent! The house itself hasots of charm, plenty of bedrooms (including one on the first floor which we needed) Two bathrooms with showers. Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher and Grill outside with firepit. The location can't be beat. One block from all tbe amusements and short walk to the beach!!!! our kids and grandkids loved it and hope we stay again. In addition the big front porch is a plus. We got to watch the fireworks from our porch!! Ben was a great host!

Phenomenal vacation

This was our second time staying at Sadie’s Place. It was as wonderful as the first time. The house is a great size for a family of 5/6. The location is wonderful - right off the main OOB strip but away from the really loud beach noise. Easy walking distance to the beach (like 2-3 minutes max). The screened in porch is awesome with a light breeze blowing. Communication with the owner was really efficient. We definitely recommend! Thanks for another great stay!

A View

Our favorite spot in the house was the lovely screened-in porch. We sat for hours and people watched. You can also see the Thursday night fireworks from there! Some days we had mostly all windows open bc the breeze was amazing! Our family of 7 fit perfectly in Sadie’s Place. We had everything we needed at the house or within a 5 minute walk.

Wonderful stay

Close to the beach and pier. House is ready for a week of fun. Full kitchen. Washer dryer! Towels! Beach gear! Just bring your clothes, food, and adult beverages. We spent hours on the enclosed front porch people watching but had privacy in the back with patio, grills, fire pit and patio furniture. Ben the host is wonderful. No issues with check-in or check-out. Hoping to come back!

Selfishly I wanted to give this place 1 star so less people would book it and I could get it again next year. In all seriousness, this place was perfect for me and my family! Communication with the owner was great, after booking it, I had to switch the week, and was able to do that without any issues, they were extremely accommodating. When we arrived, the place was clean and well stocked. They thought of basically everything. Newer appliances, like fridge, oven, coffee maker and microwave was a huge plus. It was advertised as 1.5 baths; however, when we arrived they had 2 full baths because they had recently upgraded one of the bathrooms. This was a huge plus for the 7 of us when we got back to the house after a day at the beach. They gave us two parking spots, in the small parking lot, so we avoided street parking, which was great. We were an easy walk to the shops, ocean, and amusement park. The screened in porch was one of our favorite places in the house and the back area with the fire pit was fantastic for having family over for the day. We couldn't get the fire pit working when we first arrived and Ben was so fast to fix it and get us up and running. There was a small bit of confusion after we checked out with a broken piece of furniture; however, the good communication with the owner continued and we quickly resolved the issue. My family comes to OOB every year, so glad we found this place for this visit and all our future visits to the area!

Perfect Location!

Needs a deeper clean, but discussed issues with Ben and he was super apologetic and said he'd talk to the cleaning person. There is one shower only, with very poor water pressure, but the hot water lasts, so you just need to take longer showers to get the shampoo out and sand / sunscreen off. Ask Ben if you need more towels than those that are stocked in bath. Bring toilet paper and paper towels - the ones provided didn’t last the week for our party of 8. Walgreens is super close if you run out! Kitchen is amply stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. There are books & games for rainy days. Wifi is so-so, but you can watch TV with Roku. The screen porch is lovely in the morning and evenings. A/C works great. Ceiling fans too. Owner provides beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, and beach towels. Fire pit, too! Would stay here again - the location (and friendly host) trumps all minor inconveniences.

Love Sadie's Place

Everything was great. Location couldn't have been better. We don't drive and everything we could want was in easy walking distance including the train. Beach, amusement park, restaurants, grocery store, lobster/farm stand (had amazing pie!), ice cream, breakfast places - everything. Very relaxing time. Thanks Ben!

Sadie's place is amazing

This is our 2nd summer staying there and everything was great. We didn't need for anything. We were one block from the beach and all the fun OOB has to offer. The house was super clean and stocked with necessities. Even has beach chairs floates etc. I highly recommend Sadie's place.

Perfect in every way

Sadie’s place had enough indoor space that the 6 adults and 4 children in our party weren’t on top of each other all the time. We even had a nearby family member join us for a few nights and he said the couch on the enclosed porch was super comfy. We spent most of our time using the outdoor space for enjoying the ocean breeze and grilling out. Beach toys and chairs galore were available to borrow, which was a huge crowns pleaser for the kids. The fun of palace play land and the pier were just steps away (no more paying to use the restroom) but the smell of fried food did make us break our diets once or twice! The house is full of a ton of amenities we didn’t expect: Bluetooth speakers, games, books. If you need to fill time on a rainy day saidie’s place has you covered. My advice: go ahead and book it! And when you get there, do yourself a favor and spend some time hanging out with Ms. P. You won’t regret it!

Amazing house, owner and property manager

We had an amazing week! The house was everything we hoped for and more. Ben the owner and Pauline the property manager were available for any questions and were very welcoming. We were 2 families and there was plenty of room. Very close to the beach and you can see fireworks from the porch. The sun porch was one of the best features of the house. We can’t wait to go back.

TaKe Two!

Second year here at Sadie’s place and dang we are bummed to leave. Super close to the amusement park and OOB pier. Great view of Thursday night fireworks from the front porch / sidewalk. The house is clean, plenty of towels, three bogey boards and a few beach chairs for guest use. Overall, solid place and I’ll be back again next year!

This home sits across the street from the Town Library and the Veteran's Memorial Park. You are right near the heart of downtown, 2 blocks from the beach, and walking or biking distance to the local grocery store and pharmacy. The sounds of the summer town are all around you, from the floating sounds of music to the cheers of fellow vacationers as the rides lift them up into beach air.

The house is 135 years old. Unlike some more modern builds, the solid standing of this house through the course of time is a marvel. Tended to with care by Ben, 3rd generation Thompson, and his loving partner and boys, the home will be here for many more years to come.
