Rachel Neidich-Rook purchased this house in 2013
We love Lookout Mountain and Menton. It is one of the most unique geographical areas in the south east. Our family are avid outdoor enthusiasts and we love the outdoor activities available in this area. There are great hiking, biking, and hunting activities right out the back door of the house.
We're right in the middle of it all! And guess what? it's a great price... heck, just because there's wallpaper in two of the bathrooms (still a work in progress) we will offer our house at a competitive price you can't pass up!
Hey Rachel. Carla Davis here. We stayed again, (annually) in November (with the Foxes) and wow, you have added some new stuff! New double oven and microwave...wow! Some new cookware, sheets, etc. Every year we see improvements that you have made. We just love it so much there. Not that you could have done anything about it, but there was a burn ban in place and we could not enjoy the outside fire pit, but believe me, we enjoyed the inside fireplace! I think that hubby and I are going to try to make it back in January for our 10th wedding anniversary (burn ban has been lifted)! Thanks so much for opening your home to make others happy. Hope to be back very, very soon!!!!!!
Very disappointed in our stay. We arrived to bugs in bathrooms and kitchen. We were in contact with the owner, who ceased communication when we told her about the bugs. There is no Wi-Fi, no TV, and no signal for your cell phone. We left early.
This cabin is cozy but spacious! We enjoyed the beauty of the fall colors. There is plenty to do in the area. We hiked in nearby Cloudland Canyon. Had a wonderful time on the deck drinking wine and making memories. Thanks!
My spouse and I, my sister and her husband from South Alabama and my cousin and her husband from Central Florida vacationed here from Monday evening 9/10 until Friday 9/14. It is a beautiful and quiet place. We did have a good time being together, and sharing our vacation here. I would like to say however, it definitely cannot sleep 6 adults adequately as is advertised "sleeps 7"! But, we did manage to sleep with one sleeping on the floor, and one on the sofa. The sofa in the living room would better be served on the deck because it definitely is not for comfort. I have never sat on anything so uncomfortable. In fact, we didn't sit on it...
The garbage receptacles outside were completely full from previous vacationers, and I thought that we would not be able to pack what we had in there when we were leaving.
The highlight of each day was a female White Great Pyrenees that came each day to be fed along with a large male of the same breed. These are the animals, I think responsible for the large hole in the screened back porch. Needless to say, we did have a great time on our "first time Georgia" vacation. I think next year we will trek back to Tennessee where we have been going for many years. Thanks for the use of your cabin and our opportunity of a vacation in the mountains of Georgia. Dr. Larry Odom.
Overall, the cabin was beautiful and peaceful. Highlights:
1. It was very clean and kept up.
2. We stayed here for a friend's wedding with 3 couples and it accommodated us fine. Plenty of towels and extra bedding which was appreciated.
3. Loved the fire pit, perfect way to spend the extra night we had there.
4. Beds were comfortable.
5. Kitchen had plenty of dishes and things we needed to cook.
6. Truly an escape, no cable or basic tv, no internet, no cellphone service. We really spent quality time because we were unplugged. Don't worry there were plenty of movies if you need to watch something, but best memories are made if you don't!
We were very happy with the cabin. It was perfect for our stay. Roomy and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place!
