Why Rachel Neidich-Rook chose Menlo

We love Lookout Mountain and Menton. It is one of the most unique geographical areas in the south east. Our family are avid outdoor enthusiasts and we love the outdoor activities available in this area. There are great hiking, biking, and hunting activities right out the back door of the house.

What makes this house unique

We're right in the middle of it all! And guess what? it's a great price... heck, just because there's wallpaper in two of the bathrooms (still a work in progress) we will offer our house at a competitive price you can't pass up!

Nice and private

  • 4 of 5

Cabin had nice floor plan and is conveniently located. Master bed was comfortable, but the singles upstairs had thin mattresses which my daughter (26) doubled up on one bed. Probably would be okay with smaller children. The cabin could do with some minor repairs, but overall is adequate.

Quiet&Peaceful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. Though we agree with other reviews that there are a few flaws here and there, but nothing that takes away from it's charm. Everything was clean and well-stocked, with a few small exceptions (we couldn't find paper towels or trash bags for the kitchen). Since we came here to celebrate our Christmas a little late, we loved the decorative touches all throughout the cabin. We were grateful to be able to bring our dog who enjoyed having plenty of space to run around. We would love to come back!

Sweet little hideaway in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed this escape from reality immensely. It was the perfect weekend getaway. We loved the seclusion and being able to disconnect from phones and Internet and just enjoy nature.

A nice place for a great price

  • 4 of 5

If you’re looking for something simple where you can force yourself to unplug, this is a great cabin. It would be a great choice for couples, small families, and people with pets. I could see this cabin working for a writer’s retreat as well, though it’s important to note that the internet connection is spotty at best. It’s situated in the woods far enough from the main road so that you barely hear the traffic. The windows are huge and let lots of natural light in. The fireplace is one of the best features. The owner has a nice collection of interesting movies. It’s a solid, basic, cabin.
