About Christine Izzo
We are both teachers in the area and are easy to get in touch with, especially in summer during your stay. We live fairly close to the cottage so whatever you need we are right here!
Christine Izzo purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Christine Izzo chose Auburn
We loved the character of the cottage and worked hard to keep it during our renovation. There is original wainscoting and woodwork. It has a New England feel to it. We also were happy that it was level for our small children at the time with a nice gradual walk out into the water. We could easily watch them play in the water while lounging on the deck. It's also only minutes to the city of Auburn, so very convenient!
What makes this Cottage unique
Convenient to town and no stairs, cliffs or seawalls which are common on the finger lakes.

This house is a quaint oasis on beautiful Owasco Lake! The house was described accurately in the listing. It was neat and clean upon arrival. Check-In and Check-Out were easy. Christine, the owner, is friendly and easy to communicate with. There is plenty to do nearby, with the Cayuga Wine Trail and Skaneateles nearby. We had a wonderful stay.
Amazing cottage for a family getaway!
Everything was exactly it was listed if not better. Our family loved the accommodations and look forward to staying again.
Owner was responsive when we contacted her. Home is very charming and just as described.
short get away
nice cottage for a get away
Cute, older cottage with lots of quirks.
Our party had 5 adults and two children and an infant. We enjoyed the cottage for the few days we were there. The little girls even went swimming in the middle of September!
We are happy you appreciated our eccentric circa 1900 cottage!! And how wonderful that the girls got to enjoy the lake in the fall. We would love to have you all back again sometime!
Owasco Lake Cottage
Location on the lake was great.
Comfortable living room area and good sized main bathroom.
The kitchen was very small with no ventilation for hot summer days.
AC could only be on for a certain amount of hours each day.
Small kitchen appliances need updating.
Same for outdoor grill which took forever to cook anything.
If the weather is bad or hot there is no way to seat more than a few people inside for a meal.
It's too bad we hadn't gotten a call or notification of these things during the stay. We definitely want people to have an enjoyable vacation. The grill is only a year old so if it wasn't working right it is because it is low on propane or a burner needs adjusting. We are around all summer to address these things so we really appreciate if renters let us know asap.
We will check out the small appliances - I assume mixers, coffee maker or something else.
The window a/c's can freeze up just like any other a/c units if left on 24/7 for weeks on end, so it is good to give breaks. We suggest to run for 8 hours and then give a break for a bit. However, we are looking into central air for this cottage next summer or another window unit in the kitchen. The kitchen seats six even though it is tight. It is small and if the temps are in the 90's consecutive days in a row (which is pretty rare) it would be helpful to have one in the kitchen if we don't get central air.
We appreciate the feedback but wish we got it sooner during the stay! We could have quickly addressed the grill, brought a window a/c and other things to make this stay more enjoyable.
