The area
The property is perched atop a hill overlooking Alki with great exposure–making it on average brighter and less rainy than the rest of Seattle–with stunning Olympic Mountain views and purple sunsets.
The neighborhood is ideally located just a 15-20 min drive across the bridge from downtown Seattle and 20 min from the airport, yet offering a secluded feel with lush greenery. The local artisanal shops on California Ave. are a 25 min walk, where you will find a wide variety of grocers, stacked Sunday farmers market, unbeatable restaurants from diverse regions, award-winning bakeries, quality coffee shops, local clothing, gifts, wine bars, and more! Alki Beach is a 3 min drive/20 min walk or jog downhill (also accessible via nature trail 2 min from property)–a hidden gem to tourists known for its beach boardwalk, water and beach sports, and upscale seafood and Pacific Northwestern dining.
The essentials are all here, with pharmacies, major and niche grocery stores (from Metropolitan Market to Trader Joes and a weekly farmers market), and beautiful parks and playgrounds. Schmitz Park is a 2 min walk with old growth trees, woodland trails for jogging, walking, or mountain biking. We recommend a car for exploring Seattle and for easier access to the beach and California Ave given the area is hilly.
Public transit buses, Ubers, and water taxis are also convenient and accessible ways to downtown. The area is extremely safe, welcoming mostly families and young couples. Perfect for travellers looking for an easy drive downtown, but with privacy, peace, quiet, and the best views of Seattle’s unbeatable nature.
The owners live upstairs in a separate unit and you will hear footsteps and murmurs. We do our absolute best to reduce noise transfer!
Access to the suite requires walking down two short four step flights of stairs. The walkway is well-lit and not steep. The neighborhood is hilly, but is walkable to Alki Beach and California Ave for those looking to get their steps in, otherwise we recommend preparing to drive, Uber, water taxi, or take public transit to get around!
The area is beautiful with stunning views, the suite itself has garden greenery views but does not have ocean or mountain views.
Quiet hours 10 PM - 7 AM.
No guests allowed outside the reservation.
No parties, firearms, smoking (including marijuana or vaping), or illegal drugs.
Stays of more than 30 days will be provided an additional cleaning, including linens and towel change at a $100 fee. This helps us ensure that you have a comfortable stay and that the property is well maintained for all guests.
Guests can inquire to host about availability and fees for > 1 hour early check-ins and late check-outs.

About the host
Hosted by Eliza
I'm Eliza - I'm West Seattle-ite originally from Canada! I love meeting people from around the world, having lived in London, Hawaii, Toronto, Vancouver, Colorado, and Seoul and travelling to 45 countries. I'm an avid restaurant-goer and have put together an extensive list of recommendations for you. I love design, and own Studio Fritz, a fine furniture business with my husband. I am excited to host you and ensure you have a relaxing stay! :)
Why they chose this property
As a Canadian, I chose this neighborhood because it reminds me of Vancouver where I used to live on the beach :) The neighborhood is breathtaking with lots of exposure, so it's on average sunnier and less rainy. Views of Olympics and every day, there is a unique new purple sunset. Walkable to Alki Beach and California if you don't mind a few hills. Great shops and dining on California, and only 15 min to downtown Seattle.
What makes this property unique
Bright exposure, sunnier days, and buried electrical mean airy and breathtaking neighborhood vibes.
