The Bat City House is a 1920's restoration of a classic craftsman home, sitting on the hillside just to the west of the heart of downtown Austin.

With a modern and contemporary style, these private guest quarters were added to the lower level during the restoration process. Featuring a fully equipped kitchen, open floor plan kitchen/living/dining room areas with large windows for downtown views, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, washer and dryer, private guest entrance, and french doors that open to a large private backyard for outdoor dining.

Reserved parking is conveniently located at the street in front of property, and we offer private, covered and gated parking upon request (best used if you decide to store your car during your stay). The rental is also equipped with a security system (security code provide upon request).

Located just blocks from everything downtown Austin, but quiet, safe, secure and private.

Five stars is not enough

Giving this place five stars doesn't do it justice. I'd give 10 if I could. I've stayed at this house on two separate occasions and both times it's been extraordinary. It's very well maintained, clean, quiet and yet right in the middle of all Austin has to offer.

I've stayed at Homeaway/Airbnb houses all over the world and this is by far one of the best experiences. I can't imagine a better deal in Austin for the money.

Great stay in great location!

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) stayed here for a week long vacation in Austin over spring break. The location is in walking distance to 6th st and Congress and was perfect for our needs. It was very comfortable, nicely decorated, and clean, and had everything we needed for a stress free visit.

Amazing gem just steps from Downtown

My co-workers and I stayed here for SXSW and it was 100% perfect. Chuck is a wonderful, helpful host. Communication response time was fast and he was so accommodating with our arrival and departure. The house is outfitted to a T with any amenity you could need during your stay. Downtown is just under a mile away, so totally walkable.

One thing I would note is that if you are a group traveling with males and females, two out of three bedrooms have bathrooms. So make sure you're comfortable sharing. It wasn't an issue at all for us, but is worth considering if you are traveling for work.

We will definitely be back for another visit!

The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue bridge in downtown Austin is the spring and summer home to some 750,000 bats with up to 1.5 million bats at the peak of the bat-watching season. Take a walk to Congress Avenue bridge just before sunset, and watch the bats take flight. It's a spectacular sight to see.
