Need to get away from the frenzy of everyday life??? Come visit us at *Ashore Thing* Beach Cottage on Beautiful Anna Maria Island. Once you arrive you'll see why Coastal Living magazine hails us as a 'Dream Town' with no high rise condos and 35 mph and under speed limit; it is perfect for families. As you cross the bridge your view of the shimmering waters surrounding our island will wash all your worries away and you'll know that you are truly in Paradise.
*Ashore Thing* Beach Cottage is a 4Bed/3Bath home which has been meticulously and lovingly renovated. It is furnished 'Beachy Chic' and stocked with all the amenities you could want. The interior is a reflection of the beautiful Island with hues of azure blue to sunshine yellow, all to bring the tropical outdoors in. This is our 2nd home so unlike other vacation properties with just the basics, it is equipped with everything to make your vacation stress free and memorable with all the comforts of home. The first thing that will take your breath away is the Pool/Spa (one of the largest on the Island) with large pavered deck area and lots of spacious seating. As you enter Ashore Thing, you will find a spacious dining area with a large 72” round dining table that seats eight comfortably and a foosball table for family fun. The second open family room has plenty of space for everyone to gather and relax on new comfy furnishings. The kitchen with new quartz and stainless appliances featuring premiere cookware with all the accoutrements will make the chef in you happy. For grilling we have you covered with a large gas grill. Now you must make the tough decision of dining indoors or alfresco poolside. Take a quick stroll to see the sunset before dinner. The beach is less than one minute away. Of course you will want to visit one of the numerous restaurants on the Island to experience some sumptuous local fare. Before the day is over enjoy a luxurious soak in the spa. Let the gentle swirl of the spa prepare you for the nights slumber, an ending to a perfect day before you slip into your cozy bed!
The downstairs master features a new king bed and ensuite bathroom. Additionally there is a second king bedroom with flat screen that is off the family room. Upstairs you will find a king guest room with flatscreen, a fourth guest is outfitted with two twin beds perfect for the kids or the kid in you! Upstairs guest rooms share the third guest bath.
Wake up and take an early morning stroll on the beach, as the sun rises you will see the island come to life.
Spend the day on the white powder sands looking out at the gulf as you listen to the waves lapping at the shore; you might just catch a glimpse of dolphins frolicking in the waves. If you are visiting during the months' of May -October you might get to witness the Turtle Hatchlings going back to sea. This is truly a spectacular sight! Beach cart, chairs, umbrellas, toys and towels supplied. All you need is your bathing suit. Keep your frozen daiquiris on ice at the cottage, you are so close that it is less than a one minute walk to get a fresh one.
Our cottage is so ideally located. You are just four doors to the Turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico and two blocks from the Bay. Within walking distance to shopping, dining and the free island trolley. Anna Maria Island truly is a 'Hidden Gem' there is so much to do and see here. Go fishing at the Rod & Reel Pier or visit Ginny and Jane E's at the old IGA for coffee, pastries and dine amongst the eclectic furnishings which are also available for sale. Rent a bike or just stroll to explore the Island, it is very pedestrian friendly. Take in Main Street on the North End or Bridge Street by Bradenton Beach, it is all so close on our 7-by 2-mile Island. Kayak, fish, golf or just relax and do nothing, it is up to you. Ponce de Leon supposedly named the Island Anna Maria after the queen of Charles II of Spain Marie Anna. We like to think it is the hidden Fountain of Youth as you will leave here Refreshed and Rejuvenated! You will know that it is *Ashore Thing* when you stay at this lovely beach cottage on AMI.

We had a wonderful week on Holmes Beach. The house was great for 3 couples. Very clean, kitchen well equipped, beds were comfy and plenty of room to spread out. The pool and hot tub were a favorite along with the close proximity to the beach. The location is perfect for walking to the grocery store, restaurants & shops. We had such a great time we are planning a return trip next year.

This house was very nice and suitable for our needs. The best part of the house was the EASY walk to the beach. IT was fully equipped with towels, chairs, beach toys. The pool was incredible and such a great addition to our trip. We will say the bedrooms were hot, especially the queen bedroom and our guests had to sleep with the doors open. Everything you could want for a family vacation!

Maggie and Clay have prepared a great property with all the right touches and "necessities" for a multigenerational family stay. It was clean and well appointed and with welcoming touches, as well as clear instructions and information. The pool was clean and a perfect temperature, especially for our 6-year-old mermaid and our 5-month-old's first swim. The kitchen had it all as well. We wanted for nothing! And it's a wonderful location, only a short easy walk to the beach and to the Publix groceries and other stores and breakfast eateries. We would love to come back.

What a wonderful time we had during our 2 week stay at Ashore Thing! The house was perfect for our multigenerational group with plenty of room for all of us together as well as separate space for a variety of activities. The pool was ideal for little people and adults alike. There is absolutely nothing lacking in this beautifully equipped, comfortable cottage! The beach was just a pleasant walk away with all it had to offer: gorgeous sunsets, the beach cafe, shelling. It's the perfect place for a relaxing, reenergizing respite! The excellent, prompt communication from the owners enhanced our experience as well.

This house was perfect for our group of 4 adults and two teenagers. Plenty of space for everyone. The heated pool and hot tub were fantastic. The short walk to the beach was perfect. We loved having Publix and all the stores a short block away. Super convenient. We rented golf carts to get around the island. Much easier to find parking in a small golf cart than our big truck we drove. A few tips if you go during spring break - make reservations at restaurants, waits can be long. If you want a golf cart rent a few months ahead of time. They will sell out. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent this house again. It was perfect!

My family & I stayed at this wonderful property 6/24-7/1/23. We had an amazing time and were sad to go home! The house had all the amenities we needed and then some. My granddaughters loved the pool. Beach which was 99 steps away was clear and a beautiful shade of turquoise. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped. House was beautifully decorated. The beach chairs, beach towels, and wagon were a plus. Publix was a few short blocks away as well as shops and restaurants. We saw manatees, dolphins, and even a sea turtle one night at the beach. Beautiful house and pool in a great location, but some challenges

Since we've been coming to Anna Maria Island for many years, there were no surprises with the location, the beach, our favorite restaurants, shopping at Publix, the trolley, etc. We're not 7-footers, so the beach was definitely more than 99 steps from the house. But it was still a very easy walk with no worries about traffic. While the house and pool were beautiful, we were challenged through the week navigating all of the elevation changes, especially all of the step-ups and step-downs inside the house. We understand that these features are "baked into" the house and aren't going to change - but we would have appreciated an explicit mention of them in the listing, since they detracted from our ability to relax and enjoy ourselves. Overall, though, the accommodations, the pool, and the location were just what we needed for our family. Thanks!

We are a family from Tampa who have been coming to the Island for over twenty years. Having traveled to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world from Aruba to Hawaii we realize that one of the most coveted is right here in our own backyard. So on Memorial Day of 2013 *Ashore Thing* Beach Cottage became our 2nd home. My family has fond memories of AMI and we hope to make more in the future. We are opening up our home so you can some make Great Memories of your own.

Why they chose this property

The Location!!! We wanted a place that would reflect all the charm of *Old Florida* and found it in *Ashore Thing* Beach Cottage. This lovingly renovated cottage has all the charm of a true beachside cottage plus all of the modern amenities one could want. Anna Maria boasts some of the best Sugary white powder sand beaches along its 7 mile stretch. A 'Hidden Gem' tucked away but convenient to everything if you must leave our Paradise.

What makes this property unique

Our spacious two story cottage is ground level with only one step on the 1st floor for easier accessibility. We are only 4 doors to the Turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico and a block away from shopping/restaurants/trolley stop.
