Bedrooms Studio
Space 900 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 1-3)

Green Acres Ranch is more than a cozy place to is a work of art surprising its happy guests with beauty and creativity.

The ranch has two separate cabins (rented individually or together - see our other VRBO listing #14571) and is on acres of clean and sparse Mojave Desert land. Several lounging areas, hammocks, and fire pits help you soak up the sun, the stars, a good book or a glass of wine (It's rumored that a bottle has greeted a guest or two).

For those who love wildlife, our mature trees and other plant life attract a host of twittering birds and scurrying critters: quail, doves, friendly bats, and roadrunners to name a few. Ravens often nest in the large Tamarisk trees at the front gate, raising new hatchlings each year.

We're located less than a mile away from the boundary of Joshua Tree National Park, and our convenient location near the 62 Highway provides easy access to all nearby locations without sacrificing a sense of peaceful seclusion. Daily excursions may include Joshua Tree National Park (West entrance less than ten minutes away), East Mojave Scenic National Area, Big Morongo Wildlife Preserve, Palm Springs, the Coachella Valley, Big Bear Mountain, Twentynine Palms, Pioneer Town, or Giant Rock.

About Albert

We are artists from the Los Angeles area.

Albert purchased this cabin in 2001

Why Albert chose Panorama Heights

Joshua Tree is the best getaway from the city, if you want big open skies and uncrowded spaces! Green Acres Ranch has a relaxed and unpretentious feeling that guests instantly respond to.

What makes this cabin unique

What our guests really enjoy about the property is that it provides great comfort, yet has the slight feel of 'roughing it'. We are private, and yet easily accessible to Highway 62.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this wonderful property with us, it is by far the best wholesome vacation we have had as a family, my 4 year old loved rooming around the property checking out the desert plants you have off her Desert Plants workbook, the Joshua tree park was fun and educational, we enjoyed the beautiful full moon lighting up the yard at night, you have done an excellent job making the place comfy and useful, we are already talking about going back in March to spend few days, we will definitely recommend the spot to friends and family. Thanks againAli & Kathleen

Fun & Funky desert get away

  • 5 of 5

Green Acres is very well located and the owners provide terrific directions, making it easy to find. 10 minutes to JTNP for hiking, 5 min to “downtown” JT for lunch or cocktails.

We were sad that we chose to leave our pup at home, since the Roadrunner cabin (and possibly the other cabin on the property) has a nice fence yard, even an dog house and dish ready for water. We enjoyed the outdoor area with its bubbling water feature, lounge chairs and covered outdoor picnic table. We were bummed we didn’t get to use the outdoor kitchen or the big room attached to our cabin.

We enjoyed exploring the property and would love to know what is seen on the “critter cam”, other than our shoes 😂😂

The cabin is equipped with all the essentials you need for a comfortable desert stay. We easily hosted friends for drinks one evening & we all agreed, the vibe at GA is relaxed and inviting. Cool vintage pieces mixed well with modern ones making for an eclectic mix. Towels were fluffy, bedding was perfumy detergent free (Thx!). I thought the bed was perfect, the Hubs thought it too firm, but that falls into the personal preference category. It didn’t stop him from sleeping late! Thanks too for having coffee and it’s basic accompaniments on hand-a true morning lifesaver.

Thanks for sharing your space with us!

Simply this place is the best! We came here again to get away from the big city of Las Vegas-4th of July BOOMS. Our dogs were truly thankful. It was exactly what we were hoping for. Relaxing, peaceful, quite, and without any noise from colorful explosives. The cabin is very accomadating with everything you would need from home and has a very inviting & welcoming feeling. Your literally greeted at the front door with a table of wine glasses and a bottle. It's slightly different from what we remember last year as much remodeling with new upgrades: light fixtures, fans throughout, nice stainless steel fan above the stove and completely remodeled roof (natural wood). Some rooms were opened up for more space. The cabin is charming and the owners are Top Notch Host! Super friendly, artistic and creative people. They respond quickly with any questions you may have prior or present on your trip. It has become our home away from home and our dogs absolutely have a blast. I wish I could attach photos. Thank you Sandra & Albert. Very Respectfully, Melissa & Hector

Awesome desert retreat, Even better than anticipated!

  • 5 of 5

I visited the Roadrunner Cabin with my two pups for a short getaway and really enjoyed the stay. It seems bigger than in the pictures (in my opinion) and has everything you need for a relaxing vacation (shoutout to the bottle of wine waiting for us!). The fenced yard was great for my pups, and I enjoyed it as well (especially the hammock). Also, the towels were really soft and plush, a nice surprise!

The studio space was really cool, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to make use of it this trip.

As mentioned in other reviews, the bed was very firm, so I made sure I brought a sleeping bag to add for softness. Beds are tough since everyone has a personal preference! The wifi was intermittent, but Albert was very responsive and even gave me a discount for the troubles!

I can't say too much about the area, unfortunately I was sick for most of my trip, but I do know that 1. I want to come back, and 2. I'd love to stay at this cabin again!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We were so happy with our choice to spend a week at the Roadrunner! This house was one of our top things we most loved about our Joshua Tree trip. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are cute, well-designed, comfortable, and a pleasure to spend time in. We also loved the location being so close to both northern park entrances. We would absolutely stay here again and have already talked about it!!

Owner's Response: Thank you Michelle. Is anything worse than when our pets magically get the sense that it's "exciting adventure trip time", then realize they're not invited!?

So perfect!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place was so cute! The pics don't do this place justice!! So much natural light comes in and an amazing backyard! Everything for your comfort is thought out. But I think the best thing about the property is the host, Albert. I was traveling with my wife and two dogs. A few days before our stay he emailed me about dog friendly restaurants and parks. And when we got there, because of some miscommunication there were some "clean up" leftovers that were left out. I wasn't going to mention anything but albert realized what had happened and he reached out to me about it. I mean there was a bag of garbage and a shop vac and other things that looked like someone was in the middle of cleaning. He felt so bad he helped us out by comping us. Totally unexpected. He was so easy to grab a hold of for any questions we had and made us feel good about the place. One downside, the bed was very hard, very hard. But we actually got a cheap topper and it wasn't so bad. A topper we will bring back when we stay there again for sure!!!! Rustic and comfy!!! Highly recommend as a JT getaway!!!! Thank you Albert!!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the thoughtful review, Yu, and for being so understanding! We are looking into the mattress situation. It is a complicated issue! As you mentioned, we had a little miscommunication (ie, we messed up!) with our housekeeper, but we strive to keep things running smoothly. We can't wait for you to come again, and keep us on our toes in the future!!
