We enjoyed the cabin. Some rental units in the Catskills looked too fancy for our taste. This had the right combination of rustic and modern.

We recently stayed at this property for a long weekend. Our experience was mixed, with some positive aspects to our stay as well as some issues that future guests may find helpful to know when considering this rental.During our stay, the owner arrived at the property a day early "to enjoy the weather at the creek", let themselves into the house, & questioned us about our presence at the property. They realized they had made a calendar error, and proceeded to move upstream. Having the owner arrive before our scheduled departure made us uncomfortable, and communication afterward was challenging. There were several aspects of the property that did not match our expectations based on the listing. The house is significantly closer to the road and neighboring properties, resulting in less privacy than anticipated. The creek was farther from the house, and only accessible down a heavily wooded shared "path". The deck was nearly unusable with broken furniture, wasp nest, and splintered wood. The home is also more rustic than we expected and lacks some amenities that many travelers may assume are available, such as a television and modern coffee pot.Overall, we enjoyed spending time together as a family, but the listing, photos, and description created expectations that did not fully align with our experience. Future guests may want to clarify details regarding privacy, proximity to neighbors and roads, available amenities, and checkout arrangements before booking.

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding your departure date. Due to a calendar error on our part, we arrived at the property believing it had already been vacated. Once we realized our mistake, we immediately apologized and relocated to a neighbors property a few houses down. We understand this was an inconvenience and regret the interruption to your stay. Regarding the property itself, we strive to represent the home accurately through our listing description and photos. The home is intentionally rustic in character, and amenities such as the absence of a television are disclosed in the listing, as it’s a place to truly disconnect. We continually maintain and improve the property and appreciate hearing when specific items need attention. We’re glad your family was able to enjoy time together during your visit and appreciate you sharing your experience. Best of luck!
