We were in town to visit our son who was performing at the Alpine Theater Project. Downtown whitefish is small, and we were able to walk everywhere. It was easy to get to the restaurants and boutiques etc within minutes. WF has a number of good restaurants. For dinner, Pescado Blanco was 100 feet from our front door, and for breakfast and lunch Loula's even closer. two great restaurants!
The place itself was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our stay. All the appliances worked including the washer and dryer. A nice feature was the AC, since White Fish can get warm in the summer. The living room was a little dark due to the front blinds not working properly, but other than that, it was a fine home base for our vacation. We will return in the future!
One caution is that there is construction going on directly in front of the building, so weekdays could get a little noisy for sleeping in until the end of the summer 2016, but the bedrooms are in the back, and this will be temporary until the building is completed. Sarah, the manager warned us about it, so we could have canceled if we wanted, but it really wasn't a problem. It's really beyond their control.
This property is great for proximity to downtown but beware- church bell goes off on the hour beginning at 7am and there was some sort of noisy construction going on right below our bedroom window for two days of our stay :(.
When we arrived there were stains on one of the bathroom towels and holes in the sheet and bedspread.
We expected more for the money we paid.
I've stayed here two years in a row now, once with one friend and once with two. We come every year for a ski vacation and this condo worked well for us. The location is walking distance to the Snow Bus to take you up to the slopes and to all of the evening activities in downtown Whitefish. The condo itself was clean and comfortable. As noted by others, it's not particularly big, but three grown men did just fine here. At the price, you really can't beat it.
We stayed for 3 nights at this rental. Upon arrival we were a bit concerned about what we would find when we opened the door due to the condition of the exterior of the building. It needs some upkeep and cleaning the front door and window would make it present better. However the interior was quite clean. I'm pretty picky so did find a few things that could use attention but most were very minor and would not be noticed by the majority. The furnishings were basic (very comfortable bed though) and kitchen cabinets dinged up. However we were not paying for nor expecting a five star stay! All being said the unit was well stocked and very conveniently located. My big issue was with the noise of footsteps overhead. For some reason I thought this unit was on top floor but was not. The stairs are adjacent to bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Anytime someone walked above or down the stairs it sounded like a heard of elephants! That being said, my hearing is extremely sensitive and those accustomed to living in apartments probably would not notice. It drove me nuts!
No hair dryer was in unit when we arrived. After several back and forth communications it was resolved by my buying one at Walgreen's. Rob dropped off a check to reimburse. A check list at time of cleaning after each occupant would have avoided this issue.
Overall I would recommend this rental. It was a good location and nice to have full facilities for cooking. There were only two of us so did not need 2nd bedroom. I agree the living room, dining area would be tight for more than two but size was perfect for us.
I stayed here for 4 days with my 2 sons in early August. Communication with the property mgr was a little nerve racking, but in the end everything worked out fine, I'd rent from Rob again. The downtown location is great, easy walking. The apartment is pretty tight though, the bedrooms are OK size, but limited seating in the living room made it a little cumbersome getting around. Best for a couple, but we had a great time.
