Located on the east side of Linekin Bay, facing Cabbage Island, this professionally managed three-story year-round home is a great taste of Maine!
This is not a "cookie cutter rental". This is a private home, lovingly furnished by the owners. They expect you to take care of it as if it was your own home. This home has hosted numerous weddings, birthday parties and family reunions as well as small families that just enjoy plenty of space and the unique amenities offered by this location.
The deep water dock is sought after by people who travel by boat.
Two tandem kayaks and an aluminum row boat are there for your enjoyment and can be launched from the shared dock and float. At low tide, the depth off the dock is 10 feet; this part of the bay sees 8 to 10 foot tides. Two hefty moorings are available for an additional fee.
This is the perfect house for sailors, boaters, fishermen, photographers, hiking and nature enthusiasts.
Just a few feet off Cabbage Island is an area renowned by the locals for sun-bathing seals. Osprey, eagles, loons, herons, cormorants and more frequent this diverse natural habitat.
Play badminton, volleyball, croquet or horseshoes in the back yard. There is a swing set for small children in the orchard.
An excellent area for fishing; blue fish, mackerel, stripers and sea bass frequent Linekin Bay.
Enjoy day sailing in and around the Boothbay peninsula. The rocky coast line offers endless destinations and gorgeous views! Linekin Bay is a perfect place to sail. The breeze comes up nicely in the afternoons.
Kayak the ins and outs of this beautiful section of mid-coast Maine for a couple hours or for entire days!
Walk from the house to the Burley Loop, a hiking trail managed by the Boothbay Region Land Trust. Little River is a beautiful ocean trail also within walking distance of the house. Ocean Point is only 2 miles away and offers walking with crashing surf and open ocean views out to Monhegan Island.
Did someone say lobster? You can sail into town to pickup provisions, or we can help you create a private lobster bake on property, doing as much or little of the work as you desire!
This house features a wrap around screen and glass porch which will become your favorite place to be. Overlooking Cabbage Island and Linekin Bay, Captain's Quarters is the perfect spot for your family reunion, girls getaway, corporate retreat, wedding or vacation. Spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed from the house, the porch or the beautiful lawns.
The screen and glass porch wraps three-quarters of the way around the house, with several distinct living areas. Jeff spent a lot of time vacationing in Maine with his family. Boating is a passion and the location of this house is perfect! You will share the dock and float with Jeff and Audrey as they come and go this summer with their sailboat and motorboat.
Audrey Miller purchased this estate in 1983
Jeff bought this house because he loved this old house built in the late 1800's. It has been a labor of love. Each bedroom has a theme with wall paintings by a local artist. Audrey and Jeff have furnished the house with comfortable, livable furniture and decor. The themes of each room are unique! A favorite is the Garden Room we did for our daughter! We keep working on the house doing something each year.
This space is wonderful for large groups. There are so many different places to gather and socialize. There is so much to do here too. The house sits at the end of a very long private drive, a great place to walk, to walk your dog and simply enjoy nature. And the floating dock is wonderful for swimming, kayaking, boating, fishing and sunning. You will be very spoiled and will want to come back again and again!
The Boothbay Peninsula is one of those places where your first impression is simply ‘wow’. One deep, cleansing breath of that tangy ocean air and soul soothing peacefulness and you become a life-long addict. Idyllic, pristine, sanctuary, healthy, perfect are some of the words that come to mind.
Boothbay is located in the mid-coast and offers a plethora of opportunities as your next vacation destination. Hiking, kayaking, sailing, whale watching, golfing, birding, shopping, antiquing and swimming are some of the many activities that will generate the appetite you will need to explore all the culinary delights we have to offer! Sun bathing, relaxing, day-spas and catching up on your reading are high on the list of de-stressing options at your leisure. Balmy sea-breezes, down-east hospitality and Yankee hospitality will make you come back time after time. And if for some reason you feel the need to explore beyond the Peninsula, our mid-coast location makes day-trips to Freeport, Acadia and the lakes region quite doable!
