This 2 BR/2 BA Condo with Gorgeous Mountain Views will Comfortably Sleep Seven
Nestled at the base of the Fraser Tubing Hills, Sasquatch's Hideaway is a great destination for both Winter and Summer vacationing. Whether you plan to ski and snowboard in the winter, or mountain bike, go fly fishing, and attend some outdoor concerts in the summer, your stay here is sure to be comfortable.
The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and six drawer dresser, as well as a large closet. With a similar storage setup, the second bedroom is great for kids, as the twin over full bunk will sleep three. Between these, you'll find two bathrooms and a laundry area with a full sized washer and dryer.
This is a corner unit, bottom floor, backing up to open space and the railroad. From the back porch, you have an unobstructed view of the Continental Divide to the South, Fraser Tubing Hills and Winter Park Resort immediately West, and Byers Peak to the North.
The Living Room is equipped with a full sized sofa bed which can sleep an additional two guests, as well a Blaze King wood stove that keeps the entire condo toasty warm during those cold winter months. The double patio doors and large windows allow for plenty of warm natural light.
The breakfast bar is great for family and friends to enjoy each others company while meals are being prepared. You can serve dinner right out of the convection oven onto the plates on the bar, and the downdraft range means that when you come back in the afternoon you won't still smell the bacon you cooked at breakfast.
The large dining room table is great for gathering after a day on the mountain, to share a meal, work on a puzzle, play cards and games, or use our free Wi-Fi to plan your next day's adventure.
The number of things within walking distance are almost too great to list: Grocery and Liquor Stores, Starbucks, Restaurants, Bars, a Winery, Post Office, The Lift bus stop (free shuttle to Winter Park), Amtrak station, and of course, winter tubing.
With so much to see and do in the Grand Valley, at all times of the year, Sasquatch's Hideaway is the best place to come back to relax after a day of fun.

About Garry Cook
I grew up in Philadelphia in the 70s and 80s, before moving to the Pocono Mountains in my teenage years. This is where I fell in love with Winter Sports. In the early 90s, I moved to Pittsburgh, PA and spent some time working as a snowboard instructor at Seven Springs resort. After a while, I decided that just wasn't far enough west, and I needed to find some bigger mountains. In the mid 90s I came to Denver, as well as the realization that there aren't many places better to live than Colorado. I've worked hard over the past two decades in order to be able to find the perfect vacation spot for me and my family. Hopefully, you will enjoy staying here as much as we do.

Why Garry Cook chose Fraser
Winter Park is one of the most family friendly resorts that I've ever been to. Although, that doesn't mean it's not challenging too. When you've been boarding as long as I have, you need some double black bumped up glades to keep things interesting. In this regard, WPs Mary Jane doesn't disappoint. So, that's why I chose Winter Park/Fraser as a base of operations for my Winter adventures. Not to mention, Winter Park also offers world class mountain biking and Grand Lake is just a half hour North, so Summers are filled with biking, fly fishing and boating fun.
What makes this Condo unique
I spent most of 2012 looking for the perfect condo in Fraser, Colorado. On weekends I would head over Berthoud Pass and tour various places. But I always came back to this one. I must have visited it four times before I finally pulled the trigger in December and made it my own. I really think it was mostly for the view from the back porch. But also because it's just so cozy all year round. Then I made it my own. I spent weekends in 2013 gutting the place, taking it down to the floorboards and building the perfect kitchen and bathroom, adding new carpet and paint, and updating it with nice comfortable furniture. We truly hope that you'll enjoy staying here as much as we do.

The condo is in a great location near grocery stores and restaurants. It is on the train tracks, but we didn’t hear any trains after about 9 pm. The bathrooms are very nice - recently updated. The bunk room is a great space for kids, but the bed in the master was not great. The mattress is very soft and the sheets are too small, so come off with the slightest movement. We both kept rolling into the middle of the bed and having to get up and put the sheets back on. The kitchen utensils are also lacking. The knives are too dull to cut anything and the tongs kept coming apart. If you plan to cook at all, I would suggest bringing your own utensils.
We're so sorry to hear that you didn't have a 5 star vacation.
We've heard once or twice before that the bed is too soft, as it's a little on the plush side. However, the sheets should fit just fine. I'll certainly talk to housekeeping and see what happened there.
In the meantime, no need to bring your own utensils next time, as I'll be on site next week and will take care of sharpening the knives and replacing the tongs if they are broken. Thanks for letting us know about that.
Great location and home.
We loved the location, and the pet-friendly home. Our goldendoodle, Tucker, was very comfortable there. The heated tile floors were amazing!
My only constructive feedback is that there was no wood provided, even though the very wonderful and thorough instructions suggested building a fire, and while I was trying to work remotely, using the wifi, I had to reset the modem to get it to work.
Thanks for the great feedback and review!
Every once in a while those modems get 'hung up' or something. Happens to me at home too. I'm glad we were able to get you back online quickly that night.
As for the wood, my apologies, it looks like we were cleaned out by Spring Break. I should have had that restocked at the beginning of March, not the end, but thought we had enough to make it through ski season. I know it's too late, but I'll have a new shipment brought in this weekend.
Thanks again for staying with us, we hope to see you back again soon!
This place was perfect for us. Very clean, nicely located. Thanks!
We had a great time. The condo was wonderful. Very clean. Quiet area. Walking distance to ski shuttle. Perfect for traveling with our dog. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!
Thanks for staying with us! So glad that your pup could join you. Traveling without our K9 companions is something that we rarely do.
Overall, we liked this condo but there were some annoyances.
Bed sheets didn't really fit the mattress in the master so they kept coming off as we slept. Wake up laying directly on the mattress cover - yuck.
Even though it was relatively warm in Fraser, we could only really keep the condo warm with the fireplace. The fireplace was quaint for a day but, really, it is just an unexpected hassle and expense - firewood cost about $15/day.
The weather stripping on front door was inadequate - could see daylight around the edges of the door even when it was closed tight. Fixing that would save a few dollars per day on firewood.
The pile of rocks in the bathroom sinks smelled bad. The rocks trap hair and whatever else people drop in the sink. Are they replaced between tenants?
Thank you for staying with us, and for letting us know about these issues.
I've spoken with housekeeping and had the shrunken sheets replaced. There were extra linens in the closet that fit perfectly, so you should have been able to use those in the meantime.
I wish you would have let us know that the firewood was exhausted during your visit, we would have had some delivered at no charge. We keep the back porch stocked year round. It looks like our supply was temporarily overwhelmed by the large number of Spring Break stays. We must have run out just before or during your stay.
Naturally our sinks (and everything else) are cleaned between each visit, we've never seen or heard of anything like you describe. However, I have discussed with housekeeping to be sure that they are given a thorough deep cleaning this week.
Hopefully after your next stay you'll rate us higher than a 'meh'. kthxbi
Perfect for a family of four
We loved Sasquatch’s Hideaway. It was nice and clean when we checked in. We enjoyed the evenings with the wood stove burning watching movies from a nice selection of DVDs. The view of mountains and tubing hills was a nice bonus. Also perfectly located just a few minutes from Winter Park.
Great location, nice condo!
This condo has everything you need for a comfortable getaway. Clean, heated bathroom and kitchen floors, and wood fireplace for cozy evenings.
Thanks for the great review! We love those heated floors, especially in winter time.
The Fraser Valley and Winter Park are year round mountain destinations in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains with breathtaking scenery just 70 miles from Denver.
Many skiers and snowboarders already know Winter Park as a winter playground. It is also home to the National Sports Center for the Disabled, the world's largest disabled program. Beyond the ski area all the way to Rocky Mountain National Park, there is almost every type of outdoor recreation possible.
Our location, tucked against the Continental Divide, ensures dependable snow all winter long. Skiers are happy with two downhill resorts, learn-to-ski-and-ride parks, Mary Jane sized moguls for the die-hards, and four cross-country resorts with plentiful groomed tracks. Families love slipping, sliding and gliding on the tubing hills and skating rinks. Once in a lifetime activities are also plentiful: back country snowcat ski trips, dog sled rides, hot air balloon tours and horse-drawn carriages.
However, you shouldn't underestimate the draw of this area in the summertime, due to it's popularity in winter months. There's a great deal of us locals to testify they 'came for the winter, but stayed for the summer.'
The hikers and bikers are in a mountain paradise with over 600 miles of trails to explore, which is why it's referred to as 'Mountain Bike Capital USA'. River rafting, fishing, golfing, boating, horseback riding and an all time favorite with kids of all ages...the longest alpine slide in Colorado ensure that all are able to pursue their passion, or perhaps find a new one.
The warmer weather also attracts over 200 exciting events, including marquee music festivals, run, bike and skate events.
There are over 60 dining and nightlife options to tantalize your taste buds and shopping from the Village of Winter Park to the towns of Winter Park, Fraser, and Tabernash.
The Fraser Valley is authentic, friendly, comfortable and packed with activities and unique events year-round.
