Located inside Yosemite National Park and 2 short blocks walking distance from the Merced River, The Summit House is a multi-story mountain home with central air conditioning and heat, and constructed with western red cedar inside and out. Surrounded by 3 secluded decks, our home offers 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, a spacious 2 story living room with trestle beams, separate dining room, large kitchen, loft den and game room with a bumper pool table. The upstairs bedrooms each have a king size bed, while the lower bedrooms each have 2 twin beds. In addition, both the loft and game room have queen size sleeper sofa beds. The house sleeps up to 13 people. There are 2 massive river rock fireplaces, a laundry room with washer and dryer, Dish TV, and wifi. All kitchen utensils, dishes, towels, and sheets are provided. Both a propane and charcoal barbecue are also provided for the large rear deck which is situated next to the forest where you can enjoy deer, raccoons, squirrels and birds as they parade by our home.
The Summit House is located in the charming town of Wawona, 6 miles inside Yosemite National Park. The Big Trees Hotel (formally the Wawona Hotel) is just five minutes away. Here you can play golf and tennis, ride in a carriage and ride horses in the nearby stable. Badger Pass Ski Lodge and Glacier Point are 35 and 50 minutes away. Yosemite Valley, where the Yosemite, Bridalveil and Vernal/Nevada Falls and El Capitan is 35 minutes from the house. The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is only 15 minutes away. We are a short walk from the Merced River where you can fish and swim in the summer, as well as sunbathe on the glistening flat rocks in the rushing river. You can also enjoy a hike to Chilnualna Falls and the swinging bridge or stroll the Meadow Loop Trail. There is fine dining at the historic Big Trees Hotel, as well as horseback riding, a 9 hole golf course, Ranger walks and talks and a fascinating old Pioneer Center.
In the winter you can enjoy downhill skiing, cross country skiing, sledding and snowshoeing at nearby Badger Pass as well as ice skating under Half Dome in the Valley.
In Yosemite Valley there are year round activities including numerous hikes, waterfall gazing, rafting, biking, museums, or just enjoying the beautiful vistas from the awe inspiring Majestic (formally the Ahwanee) Hotel. Yosemite is beautiful in all seasons and each season has its own special pleasures!

Great house for a large family group.
Kitchen well stocked with cooking essentials. The fireplace the perfect touch for gathering and playing games.
Very nice. Excellent place for large group. Lots of space.
Perfect Choice for a family visiting Yosemite.
We, my wife Angélica and our two sons, with their seven children, stayed at Sumit House September, 12 to September 16. We had a Wonderful time, there was place for every one and privacy to all. The house is really a beautiful and very practical, located in a spacious place with typical Yosemite views.
The style, furnitures and everything was perfect. The only bad luck for us, was that Mariposa Grove was closed due to repairs and Glacier Point was also closed due to the fires.
I recommend this place to any family up to 13 people as we were, including children from 15 years old down to 6 years.
Thanks for all Daniel, hope to visit Yosemite again with our two daughters and their family, and we will sure select your perfect house for that occasion.
Great Family vacation
We had a group of 10 spend four nights in this spacious house. It was home base to our travels in Yosemite for 4 nights. It led to my favorite part of the trip which was relaxed family meals at the start and the end of the day. It made for rich family time and interaction. We highly recommend this venue for a large group.
Lovely comfortable house, great for a group
Good communication with owner, house well stocked with necessary items and towels. Nice porches and great area. Great to be inside the park, and Wanona a nice place.
We are delighted you enjoyed the house and area. it is our family's favorite place!!!
Great home in a very cool area. Made the Yosemite experience that much better.
Very well kept home to stay in with all that you need. Loved the area that it's in as well.
Wawona is a peaceful village inside the park just a short drive from the famed Yosemite Valley, Badger Pass ski area and Glacier Point. Near the historic Wawona Hotel is the old pioneer village which features rustic homes and pioneer activities. Here you can horseback ride, swim, hike or enjoy a square dance in the old barn. The charming 9 hole golf course allows you to commune with nature while playing golf. Beautiful swimming holes on the nearby south fork of the Merced River offer hours of joy for young and old alike. The Mariposa Grove of giant Sequoia trees is just a few minutes drive from Wawona and offers tranquil hikes through these gentle giants!
